We called here with our tour guide who made the visit more interesting by explaining the history of the gardens and about their refurbishment.

It is in a quiet location in the bustling souks  of the Medina though I would say it's a little difficult to find if you don't know where you're going.

Quiet garden

We always visit the Secret Garden as an oasis of calm after the madness of the souk.  It’s a lovely place to be and remains beautiful.

Our visit on this occasion was almost spoiled by a nasty incident where, after giving a Dh100 note to pay a Dh60 bill we waited over 20 minutes for our change.  I had to find a non-waiting member of staff and ask for our change. 

Our ‘friendly’ waiter apologised and came back with Dh25 in change. He was most offended when I asked for all of our change, and started getting very animated about ‘not scamming us’, to the point where I had to tell him to stop shouting at my 82 year old Mother, and had to say many times that I didn’t want to hear from him any more. 

One mistake can be a mistake- two starts to look like a scam and we encountered this ‘busy waiter forgetting change’ problem at the Majorelle too.  Perhaps they think that tourists with enough money to pay the considerable entrance fee won’t care to wait for change if they hold out long enough. Ironically, we would have otherwise left him a tip, but not after this!

It’s a depressing feeling, having to constantly be aware of potential scams like this in Morocco, which is sadly getting more like Egypt in its treatment of tourists.  

Beware the waiters at the Secret Garden!

Only interesting thing was a pipe of water showing where it enters the medina from the atlas mountains

Nice garden with many different plants and flowers. Amazing morrocan architecture. We took many pretty pictures. Worth to visit. I would recommend to come earlier in the morning hours if you want to avoid many ppl, however in the peak season is very hard in Marrakech.

Great garden!

Nice location to stop and unwind. Very serene, which is in total contrast to the hustle and bustle of the street's leading to it.
It didn't blow me away but it is very impressive when you see the photographs of the derelict condition in which it started.
Food and drink isn't over priced, which was a surprise given it's a tourist attraction.
Felt very chilled sitting my fresh orange juice :-)

Well worth a stop

Secret Garden is located at Palmeraie resort, nearby the 27holes golf course by Robert Trent Jones. It is situated 10 minutes from the Palmeraie Spa, the pool/restaurant "Nikki Beach", and the brazilian restaurant "Fogo Di Chao". It is located 20 minutes from the main tourist attractions (Medina, Menara Gardens, Koutoubia...) and from the airport. 

Each 23 villa of Secret Garden, 600m², has 3 bedrooms with double beds and bathrooms, including one originally located at "mid-floor" with hip bathtub, private showers and dressing. All rooms are well-equipped and comfortable , which combined design with Italian accents to moroccan materials and techniques. Large living room, library, stocked bar, fireplace, exclusive spa,dining room, heated outdoor pool...
