Golden Anniversary holiday.
Firstly, we would like to thank Ken and a very special team. We will remember this holiday forever.
The hotel is 5* but should be higher.
Our room was in a perfect location for all parts of the hotel, swimming pool, restaurant, beach. The food was fantastic, very fresh and plenty to choose from. The egg section should have a michelin star rating. ( antonia ).
We will highly recommend this hotel. It's a superb hotel in a great location.


Birthday and anniversary holiday 

We have recently returned home from a fabulous stay at the Sandpiper.  We have stayed at the hotel before but our last visit was in 2019.  We were given a warm welcome as soon as we arrived, along with a rum punch.  We had chosen to stay in a ground floor garden room which had its own outside terrace, a table and chairs plus 2 loungers.  The gardens of this hotel are beautiful and attract plenty of wildlife.  They also provide guided walks around the gardens.  The room itself was nicely decorated and extremely clean.  There is a fridge, a nespresso coffee machine (4 free pods) and fresh cold water provided on a daily basis in a jug.  On our arrival, there were two bottle of fresh juice and banana cake.  The White Company toiletries provided are lovely and will be topped up if you run low.  The very large bed was so comfortable with great clean crisp sheets.  We both slept very well.  Blue towels are provided for the beach/swimming pool and are changed daily if used.  Our room was always kept immaculately clean.
The staff at the hotel are first class and provide a friendly, helpful and  relaxed atmosphere.  Breakfast was a favourite time for us.  There was so much choice and we liked tasting the ‘juice’ of the day which was brought to the table each morning.  The Juice Bar was new to us since our last visit and we visited it several times during our stay.  A thumbs up from us.  We were staying on a B&B basis, as we like to visit the local restaurants/cafes in Holetown.  Our favourites being The Tides, The Mews, The Bearded Rose plus Cafe De Paris and Buzz Box for great coffee, wraps etc.
We did have several evening meals at the hotel, their beachside restaurant with Harold’s Bar was a great place to eat and watch the sunset.  The food was excellent and we were never disappointed.  We also had a lovely Beach BBQ at the hotel.
The Sandpiper is right on the beach and has a safe area of sea to swim in.  They also have a small floating platform.  The beach area is lovely with plenty of beds and once again, the staff are excellent.  They provide a clean towelling cover for the beds, along with jugs of iced water and a sorbet in the morning.  If you are not a ‘beach’ person there are two swimming pools to chose from.
We went to the reception for help on a couple of occasions and they were always helpful, knowledgeable and organised.  They assisted us with getting a hire car for a few days.
The Sandpiper is a small well run charming hotel.  There are so many good points to this hotel, we can’t do it justice in this review.  There are too many staff to name, who made our holiday such an enjoyable one.  We wouldn’t stay anywhere else on Barbados and we are sure this won’t be our last visit.  A big ‘Thank you’ to the Sandpiper Team (Ken) for making our holiday memorable.

Another Fabulous stay at the Sandpiper

We have just visited one of our favourite holiday destinations, Barbados and the fabulous Sandpiper Hotel.

Having stayed in other establishments across the island, once we discovered this special place, no other compares.

The hospitality/service is second to none. Everyone from Ken the General Mger, to Antonia on the egg station, makes you feel appreciated.

The beach ambassadors look after your every request, Harold's team at the beachfront bar/restaurant ensure you never have an empty glass, unless it's St Nicholas Abbey Lemoncello🤣.

Then there is the fabulous restaurant team, (far to many to mention) serving up top rated food (in our opinion some of the best on the island) accompanied by Wayne the head sommelier, offering a wide selection of well chosen wines (no Soave though!!).

Our favourite place is the main bar, Wayne, Jerome, Mario, Jerone, Tanje and the charismatic Sachin, conjure up some fantastic cocktails whilst offering  some varied topics of conversation in between the fabulous entertainment (on every night).

The gardens are fabulously maintained & the housekeeping team ensure the rooms are well looked after.

We cannot rate this hotel highly enough, a grade 5 is an understatement, thankyou for a fabulous time...again, see you all later this year.

Barbados Hospitality at its best!

Colonial cherrywood bungalows nestling in amongst lush verdant planting with smooth pathways linking each one.   Each bungalow hosting a super plus king-size bed you almost needed a step ladder to get onto.  Well-dressed in monogrammed million thread count sheets waiting to comfort the weary travellers.   A row of tropical orange cushions chopped to perfection bringing the outside in.   A pair of matching rattan sun loungers romantically placed together and surrounded in lush greenery for privacy.   A giant clamshell serves as a personalised foot bath for each bungalow.   48 rooms only in the hotel, small and select just as we had imagined.

A stunningly breath-taking sunset was on its way shortly after arrival,  orange, crimson and yellow tinged humid skies, reflecting on the horizon, just like the photos.   The frogs starting their evening chants.   Harold's Hug is the best, like visiting an old friend, with the whitest of smiles and tennis shoes to match.  The Minuty on ice, does life really get any better than this?     Soft gentle waves kissing the pepper white sand.   Locals frolicking in the warm  in the shallows of the calm warm Caribbean Sea, laughing and playing, inter-generational gatherings washing away their work and school days.  
‘Can you imagine, this experience?   Well it's all true, every word.   The humid hug of the Caribbean complimented by the most attentive staff, this truly its paradise. All the F's here, Fun, Friendliness & Fabulous Food.
 
& The Food & The Breakfasts, oh & the Lunches, catering for every taste, the new juice bar,  personalised cold remedies  (in my case) attentively delivered with a smile.    If you don't like crowds, if you love understated attentive (not in your face) service & a 'Get Away From It All Feeling, this is your place.    We visit out of season, October, we love it then, quiet, chilled so we can soak up every aspect of the beauty it has to offer.  Barbados is a year round resort, we have visited at several different times of the year and despite the liquid sunshine on some afternoons the weather has always been amazing.   You also meet wonderful people there, it's like a group of friends returning year after year to share the best a holiday can offer.    

There's no place like this place, so this Must Be THE PLACE!

A perfect stay. Beautiful beach front position. Tropical gardens. Attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast was something special - a gorgeous buffet plus extra menu including fluffy pancakes and crab topped scrambled eggs. Lovely restaurant plus others nearby - The Cliff, Tides and Nishi. We cannot wait to return.

Simply the best!

The Sandpiper is discreetly one of the most awarded luxury hotels in Barbados, surrounded by lush gardens filled with tropical flora, creating an atmosphere of ultimate privacy.
