Great resort, great island, great folks.
We'd had a great experience, period!
If there was anything that wasn't quite on par, it was two things.  
While the restaurants were always good, the service was "disjointed" and very slow.  It was if no single person was to take care of a specific table. the end result being we were often overlooked for lengthy periods of time.
The other thing?  Towels at the sea and pools ran out seemingly very early not to be replenished. 

Wendy, the activities coordinator, was first class AWESOME!

My wife and I went 10 years ago for our Honeymoon, and at that time, it was the best of anywhere we had been in the Caribbean. The staff was grateful we were there and always smiling and welcoming. This past trip last week was the complete opposite. The staff acted as if we were inconveniencing them to ask for a drink or for a table at the restaurant. There were constant mumbles under their breath and smirks on their faces. We didn’t even want to order at certain places because of the attitude of the workers. The craziest part is we were even tipping! It almost had seem like there was a corporate take over and they cut the staffs pay, they are short staffed, or something was going on within the island. It was mind boggling to us. As you know the Grande St Lucia is far from the cheapest sandals option. We paid 7,000 for 5 days (part of that airfare), but still a lot of that went to sandals. People pay this money to relax, be spoiled for a few days, and enjoy their vacation, and this trip was the opposite. Really sad to see sandals trend in this direction. We were not the only couple unhappy, several others couples complained as well. Look to another another company or a different island. We were very disappointed for our 10 year anniversary and will not be going back. Sandals did not have a manager at the front desk during checkout and said they would reach out to discuss further, and of course they never did. Spend your money elsewhere. 

Unfriendly Staff. Terrible experience!

Sandals Grand Saint Lucian was such an amazing honeymoon experience! We loved the activities by the pool and espeically the activity hosts Mauka, Neville, Dasha and Cassius were so fun, sweet, and really made our experience so much better! We recommend this resort to anyone, especially honeymoon couples!

Best Honeymoon & Activities Personal

My wife and I had planned our vacation to St. Lucia, staying at Sandals St. Lucian Grande, to celebrate her birthday, with hopes to have a decent time. Unbeknownst to us we were in for an experience that would far exceed our expectations. We landed in St. Lucia on 6/16/2024 and we were directed to the Sandals -Inbound Guest Receiving Lounge, where we were greeted warmly by Aaron and a team of smiling, friendly and excited Service Agents, who secured our luggage and provided refreshments during the interim of awaiting all expected guests to arrive and then to be transported to Sandals St. Lucia Grande. We boarded a bus and began our beautiful & scenic route to the resort; the sights were breath taking and organic, allowing us to drive through the local towns and see people, as well as the lush greenery that fills the island. Then, we entered through the gates and arrived to the sound of voices singing, and hands clapping to the melody " Welcome to Sandals.."; warm smiles and excitement lit up their faces as the greeted us and Zidan handed us glasses of champagne, before being directed to Guest Check-in. We would later realize that the greeters were not only from Guest Services, but a collection of staff from the variety of services available at Sandals St. Lucian Grande. We were then escorted up to our room, and as we opened the door, we entered a clean, pristine room; everything began to speak to the caliber of excellence and quality of services that we were about to experience. Everyday and everywhere that we went, staff and employees, without fail, were smiling and without prodding or prompting offered smiles, provided directions, stopped to talk and to share, to help and to ensure that we were having an amazing time.  At the poolside bar, on June 17th (My wife's birthday), we approached the bar and was greeted by Sanjay. I asked if he could create a special drink for my wife and me, for her birthday; I wanted it to be organic, unique, personal, and most of all special. We'll Sanjay came through with an attractively, beautiful and colorful drink, that was captivating and delicious. Even if someone else had been served that drink before, our experience felt genuinely authentic and personal. We thanked him, called it "THE SANJAY SPECIAL"  and turned around, enjoying this unique, never before seen, and attractively tasty cocktail. Well, all eyes began to hone in and immediately we were being barraged with questions: ' What dink is that?". " Oh, it's "The Sanjay Special", about 30 couples went to the bar requesting the same, and 30 strangers became our friends, plus Sanjay. We have met so many amazing staff members and I will just list their names, with hopes that you will understand that they too have impacted out time spent at Sandals St. Lucian Grande, and they too are main characters within this story of our review. Each of the persons being mentioned/ recognized here is because they were professional, knowledgeable, cordial, helpful, supportive, friendly and genuine (we could clearly see that they loved what they are doing and doing what they love): Nigella (Front Desk), Aidan (Front Desk, Christi ( Front Desk), Zidan (Front Desk Manager), Vincentia (Hostess/ Server), Sharlene, Tashe (Gordons), Sharice (Bayside/ Bombay) , Sheudy,, Melisha, Lance (Gordons), Daisy, Jessie (Chef), Keizan, (chef), Deane (chef), Nimal (Chef), Noel ( Chef- Kimono's), Nicholas, Krishna, Lorina, Hazel Rose, Shermina, Vicky, Lisa (manager), Wendy (Bayside Manager) , Portia, Andrea (Housekeepng). Bartenders: Sanjay, Noon, Storm, Neil, Saskia. Food Managers Pramod, Eka. Entertainment: Abigail, Neville, Kelvin, Tamika, Deasia, , Nyah, Mocha, Cassius; I will also like to add Gemma Flood (pianist) to this list, I enjoyed singing with him and listening to his variety of songs. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you and to even the names of those that we passed along the way and simply radiated a warm smile and a gesture of kindness. during our stay. Sandals St. Lucian Grande has been etched into our memories as a vacation and experience that will never be forgotten: the foods (including Caribbean Day, Bayside, Kimino's, Gordons, Jerk Shack, Toscaninis, Bombay, Barefoot, Dino's, Creperie, the drinks, Shows, Music, Dancing, Karaoke, and the overall ambiance and beauty of the grounds and the staff, made for an unforgettable experience. we are hoping to return with more of our family and friends. We could go on, but we want everyone to go and stay, and enjoy the experience of a lifetime.  On our final day our luggage was picked up and brought down to the main lobby, as we prepared for our departure. At the appointed time, a collection of various staff members were aligned at the front to serenade us with a departure song, with hopes of our return... " come back my friends, come back soon..."

Memories Captured and Galvanized Forever

I am currently staying at the Sandals Grand St.Lucian. This place  is beyond disappointing. It started with the check in process. We were exhausted from the two hour ride (yes, it’s two hours) to the resort, it took a long time to be greeted for check in. It’s not as if they didn’t know we were coming. The service is poor. I’m sure everyone is working hard, But, no one seems to like working here. Compared to other Sandals resorts this place is sub par.  I regret choosing it to celebrate my birthday and anniversary. I would not recommend it. When going to a Sandal’s resort the expectations are high and this resort does not meet those expectations. Choose another location.

This is not “Sandals” quality resort.

Built in the style of a British palace, this fantastic hotel offers splendid views of the mountains and quick access to the island's spectacular beach. Sun loungers and parasols welcome guests to the white sands and the sea, but those vacationers who prefer freshwater can choose between 5 outdoor swimming pools within the complex. Whether they like a more active or a more leisurely wellness routing, guests are sure to appreciate the state-of-the-art gym and SPA centre. A refreshing drink at the hotel's bar, or a pleasant walk in search of the best place for dinner will prove the perfect ending to a perfect day.
