Harmony Bay Hotel

The room was not big enough for my family and I was told it was to be a side view of the sea but was a view of a wall.  

The choice of  food was very limited I have 2 fussy eaters who couldn't get much to eat on the buffet at dinner time.  I was not made aware that we could have had lunch in the dining room and found out hotel served this on t he last day.
Breakfast was nice but there wasn't much variation.  Hotel was clean. And I loved the bath in the room and I loved how close the hotel is from the beach there was no signage or guidance about activities in the area which is what is this hotel was lacking.

Good budget hotel

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful for anything , nothing ever felt like you were being an inconvenience to them! By the 3rd day the bar staff knew our names, were asking about our lives and vice versa making our trip so special and personal. 

Everytime they seen us we were always greeted with a good morning and a smile. They even knew what we were ordering going by the times we were going up to the bar - whether that be for food or juice. We felt extremely well looked after. 

The rooms I would say are exactly what your looking for if your on a budget ! Spacious and extremely clean, the housekeepers cleaned our room every morning , changed beds and gave us new towels. 

The food is a bit of a hit or a miss if you’re going half board. However, if you get food from the bar OMG, amazing. I adored the Caesar salad ! Massive portions aswell. 

The hotel I would say is quite out the way however whatever way you walk it’s very lively and are not too far from bars/pubs. We went to malibu which is a cocktail bar and we loved it there. 

My boyfriend and I are not massive cat people and there is quite a lot of strays - it didn’t bother us to be honest , we made friends with what the staff call “rita” a little grey cat that never left our side :( She was very sassy as the lifeguard would say lol. 

All in all, our experience could not have been made any better, from the staff, to the food and our special little friend rita. We cannot wait to come back!

Great hotel, even better staff

We stayed for two nights during the Limassol Marathon weekend.

The hotel is a basic hotel.  But of a reasonable standard.

The room was basic with not a lot of room, but was clean. 

The restaurant was buffet style. We had breakfast which was plenty,  and an evening meal which was equally plenty and enjoyable.

The bar was basic but service was good. 
There was easy access to the walkway and beach which had some watersport options..

Although basic, we enjoyed our stay..

Basic but nice and a good location. 

Me and my husband booked this last minute. Hotel is clean, rooms are clean, we paid for Seaview but was on a side. Breakfast was nice and evening meal was nice bit repetitive.
Not really a lot of entertainment outside the hotel we got on the bus just outside hotel to marina 3 euros for the both us there and 3 back.
Probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again but that is more to do with location. We did meet some lovely people who we will keep in contact with

Last minute trip

Where do I start? I stayed at The Harmony last year and although we encountered some problems last year, I decided to give it another chance as it’s close to my mums flat and was within easy reach of bars and restaurants etc in the tourist area and was part of the packaged deal with Jet2 flying via Newcastle. This time, my son stayed here and I was at my mums. 

So, like last year, we booked and upgraded to a side sea view room (going by the fabulous photos that jet 2 and the hotel displayed) and I emailed the hotels in advance requesting a room on a high floor if possible.    Jet 2 already sent the same request. 

On the eve of arrival, like last time, we were “greeted” by the same man as last year (the one who wouldn’t give us a teeny bit of milk at 1am after a long journey) who told us that we were ‘upgraded’ to a SEAVIEW room. Obviously delighted (thinking it’s coz we're  returners), we headed up to the 3rd floor (room 311) only to enter a squished up family room (didn’t ask for this) and opened the doors to look straight ahead to a building (see pics). We had to go to the top left of the balcony to see the sea.  Obviously furious that I had been duped, I went back down only to be shown a print out of the room number with SV. The man on reception was arguing with me saying it was a sea view room and granted it wasn’t one of their best rooms, he couldn’t do anything and kept on saying it was an upgrade! He also said they were fully booked and had no rooms available.   I asked why when last year did I get a better room and he just shrugged his shoulders and told me to sort it out with reception in the morning.  I had no choice, but to sleep in that room with my 34 year old son. By this time, it was 1.30am. Meanwhile I got on the phone to Jet2 who tried to mediate with the hotel and they got no joy either .....Bearing in mind we were in there for 4 nights, we were already stressed to bits. I did a room search on line and it told me that the hotel had plenty of availability, and gave me the option to book now. 

In the morning (after a terrible sleep) we went to reception and spoke with I think her name was Joanna. She asked us to let her try and sort out another room as I had asked J2 to move hotels already. Anyway, within an hour, she called us saying there were a couple of rooms which had come available as there were NO SHOWS that morning (this was only 8:15am). Bearing in mind a few hours before we were told there were no rooms and suddenly there were, is a joke. We were asked to look at the room on the lower level (213) and although it still gave us the same aspect, it had a closer side view to the sea.  We accepted the room as basically we were only staying there for 3 more nights and we were just fed up

I was also told not to go by the photos that Jet2 put up as they weren’t a true reflection which I was really annoyed about as I paid for the upgrade for a side sea view room

On checking out, I was told when booking if I want a proper sea view to request one. I told Joanna that the piece of paper that was presented to me on checking in did have S/V with the room number next to it and there’s no way I would know this without me seeing it. So even if one is paying for the upgrade and getting such a shady deal, you feel like you’ve been robbed. 

They still charge €3 per day for the safe. €15 deposit which you’ll get back if you return the key. 

Breakfast has actually gone downhill since last year. Less choice and the quality is substandard. Other than the first morning, I didn't eat there. My son just ate toast, watermelon and cheese.  

Would I recommend this hotel? ABSOLUTELY NO, based on my experiences last year and especially this year, I would give this one a wide berth. Price, room, breakfast, service and experience was awful. Couldn’t wait to get away.
