Pool

We stayed here for a week in June 2024.  
Our room was spacious and we loved our private balcony and plunge pool. I was concerned that people in rooms above us would be looking over our balcony  but because of the way the buildings are set out this wasn't the case. The shower was a good size although the way the door closed it did leak onto the floor if you werent careful. The coffee pods were replenished up daily, as was the water in the fridge, but I was suprised that the toiletires weren't replenished. 
We were bed and breakfast so didn't try any evenings meals (the cost would have been 30 euros each and it was cheaper to eat at the local tavernas). The breakfast was fine for us - we mainly ate the good selection of fruit, yoghurts, cerals, toast, bread and cakes. There was alos hot brreakfst items - eggs, bacon, sausage, beans et cbut we tended not to have these as the hot plates didnt seem to keep them very warm.
The pool area was lovely - plenty of space and an amazing poll, the best I've ever seen in a hotel. The beach towels in our room was a nice addition. 
All the staff were very pleasant, helpful and attentive.
However, we didnt realise what a steep hill the hotels was on.  I had read information before we booked that said the hotel is on a hill,but we didnt expect it to be quite a steep as it was!   Whichever way you walked, it involved a steep hill climb either on the way there or back which wasnt great in the heat. The walk up to the supermarket was definitely challenging. We managed OK but are pretty fit, some of the older people ended up getting taxis, which are expensive. Most people at the hotel seemed to hire cars to get around. We didn't get the bus anywhere but from what we saw and heard the service isnt very reliable (although its cheap).
Theres not an awful lot around the hotel but theres a few tavernas within walking distance, all rasonably priced.  One is opposite the supermarket so great when you need a drink after the steep climb! 
Overall we had an amazing tme and loved it here.  If you want night life and noise, its not the place to go, but if you want luxury and relaxation its perfect.We would defintiely recommend this hotel (as long as you are fit enough for the hills!)

Lovely hotel (apart for the hills)

Fabulous hotel, stayed for a week and left in much better shape than on arrival ! Room was spotless, and cleaned brilliantly each day. Great breakfasts and super service with plates etc cleared immediately with a smile. spent a few days by the pool doing occasional laps & then hired a car ( arranged by hotel immediately with the car dropped off a couple of hours later ) easy island to navigate and great to see all of it, with stops for coffee/ lunch/ coffee & dinners in different spots. tips ? take a torch for walks back to hotel after dinner up the hill/ down the hill, sturdy shoes for the climb to the mini market & if you get a chance, feed the cats beside the entrance ( the market sells cat food ) & leave them water, but they seem pretty happy. I'd stay again in a heartbeat, loved it.

The hotel is every bit as luxurious as the photos suggest. There was an immediate feeling of relaxation as soon as we arrived. Warm welcome at reception and a nice welcome drink.

Our room was spotlessly clean and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We stayed in the junior suite with sea view and it didn’t disappoint. The view of mountain and sea was beautiful. A great view to relax to in the plunge pool. The separate seating area was perfect to relax with a drink in the evening. The room was cleaned daily and new towels both bath and beach were replenished daily too. Fresh water was left in the fridge each day. 

The main pool area was stunning. Beds were very comfortable and plenty available. The bar staff regularly come around to check if drinks are needed. All items from the bar area can be charged to your room so no need to take cash/cards with you. The bar offered a great selection of spirits and cocktails along with local and imported beers as well as cocktails. 

Breakfast was a buffet style offering pastries, sausage, eggs, bacon, cereals, fruit and yogurt. The fresh baked muffins are a highlight.  It wasn’t quite as good as hotels we have stayed in with the same star rating on other Greek islands that offered bigger variety menu options but there is something for everyone to eat.

We don’t eat in the restaurant in the evening. It seemed to be a hybrid of buffet and a la cart offering mainly traditional Greek dishes. I’m a bit of a fussy eater so it didn’t cater to my taste but the more adventurous pallet would enjoy it. Having a proper a la cart option to include other European and international dishes would be a nice option in my opinion and would have encouraged us to dine in the restaurant more. There are lovely local tavernas a 10 minute walk away. Gefiri is uphill and Denis is downhill on the beach. Both have a good variety even for a fussy eater like me. My wife tried more traditional dishes and loved them.

The spa was great. I had a massage and my wife had a facial. Both were amazing. Anna is very welcoming and friendly. I’d definitely recommend getting a treatment. 

Overall the staff were very friendly and welcoming. 

The hotel world benefit from having some sort of mini market on site to offer the option to buy snacks and ice creams as the uphill walk to the supermarket can be a little off putting in the heat. 

The area around the hotel consists of mainly hills and while we managed ok it is more challenging in the heat and we are quite fit. Anyone with mobility issues should consider hiring a car or getting a taxi; especially if going uphill to the supermarket. 

We would definitely stay here again. If you are looking for relaxation this is the perfect setting. Nightlife isn’t prominent in the area around the hotel but the hotel bar has a nice relaxed vibe for evening drinks. It states it is open until midnight but it seemed to close around 11/11:30pm but you can take drinks to your room if you prefer staying up a bit later after a late dinner.

We stayed here in June, and can say this hotel is perfect if you just need to relax. The hotel has such a chilled/relaxing atmosphere, it’s perfect just to chill out and unwind. 

The main pool area is just as impressive as it looks on the pictures, with the most comfortable sun loungers. We never struggled to get loungers.

Our room was comfortable, clean and again, the added benefit of your own pool (forest view) was an added bonus. Unfortunately we couldn’t get our iPhones to connect to the tv and even when we asked at reception they were unsure how to help; not a major issue but a little annoying when we couldn’t find any English channels. 

The reception team were amazing at helping us arrange a hire car and also taxis for a meal out. 

We ate at the hotel for evening food on most nights and whilst it didn’t blow us away, it was nice food, which varied every evening (apart from the desserts).

I would 100% stay here again - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful hotel, perfect to switch off and relax

Lovely adults only hotel. Everywhere is kept very clean and well looked after. Rooms were excellent - spacious, with comfortable bed, air conditioning that worked all the time, and the balcony with plunge pool was great. Amazing view of the forest and mountain - could also just see the sea from our 3rd floor room.  All the staff were helpful and friendly.  Comments on the food: breakfast was ok if you stuck to fruit/yoghurt/toast, as the cooked selection was under hot lamps which don't keep it hot. The lunch menu was great - choices from Greek salad, pizza, burger, club sandwich - all made fresh to order - and Jenny and team looked after us so well. Some evening meals were better than others - always a few choices for the main but 'starter' and 'dessert' tended to be the same. The hotel is quite remote, so perfect for peace and quiet but I hadn't understood quite how long and steep the hill is to get to the supermarket or other Tavernas, so unless you hire a car, you are pretty much stuck to the hotel. There are no beautiful beaches to walk to either, so you need a car, or organised trips to see anything else. The local Trapezaki beach isn't great - very rocky and full of seaweed piles - the sea is lovely though. Denis Taverna was superb - highly recommend lunch or dinner - fantastic food and lovely owners/family/staff, all running around making sure everyone is looked after.  Would definitely return to Kefalonia, but probably stay in one of the bigger areas with more accessible beaches, tavernas etc.
