AVOID – Unless You Want a Week of Stress.

Staying here felt more like a week on rather than a week off. The problems were endless. I counted over 20 trips to reception for various issues—coming from someone who rarely complains, even when things aren’t great.

The Nightmare Check-In
	•	We were given a downgraded room that looked more like a hospital room than the one we paid for—completely different from the pictures.
	•	When we raised this with reception, we were met with zero concern. The older gentleman at the desk was rude, dismissive, and had no interest in helping. We politely explained the issue, but he insisted there was nothing he could do.
	•	We agreed to stay for the night but contacted EasyJet to step in and resolve the issue.

Room & Hotel Issues
	•	The air conditioning didn’t work in 35-degree heat (we saw others complaining too).
	•	The room phone didn’t work, making it impossible to call reception.
	•	One staff member tried gaslighting us into thinking the AC worked, claiming he could feel air coming out—he definitely could not because it wasn’t even on.
	•	He also lingered in our room unnecessarily, making us uncomfortable as two young women.
	•	We were told we’d get a fan, but at 1 AM, after waiting an hour, I went down to reception to find out they just hadn’t bothered—despite not being busy.

Thankfully, EasyJet got involved and secured the correct room for us. But the problems didn’t stop there.

New Room, New Problems
	•	The water randomly stopped working at times.
	•	The key card constantly failed, forcing us to walk back and forth to reception multiple times in 40-degree heat. The same rude receptionist would just glance at the card, throw it back at me, and say, “Try it now”—without actually doing anything. After being sent back 3-4 times, he finally issued a new key, which miraculously worked.

Staff & Service Failures
	•	On the last day, I asked reception to book me a taxi. They didn’t—so I waited outside for 40 minutes before a random couple let me share with them after I spoke to ask them how long they’d been waiting, which was 10 minutes. To which the taxi driver took issue with me sharing.
	•	Lower-level staff were fine, but management was useless—doing nothing all day.
	•	The supervisor of the cleaning team was shockingly rude and condescending to staff.

We had even more issues, but honestly, I’ve tried to forget them. It’s taken me this long to recover enough to write this review.

The Only Positives
	•	Lovely adult-only pools
	•	Decent food variety
	•	Enjoyed seeing the animals around
	•	Nice beach with some activities nearby

Final Thoughts

After reading other reviews, it’s clear that this wasn’t a one-off experience—many guests have had the same issues with staff incompetence, lack of care, and unprofessional behavior.

I cannot believe I spent £1,000 to leave feeling mentally drained with zero compensation. Avoid this place at all costs.

AVOID - Week on instead of week off.

We booked the Lindos Royal for our anniversary, so we thought with it being our anniversary we would treat ourselves to a nice swim up room. After being sold a dream holiday, the holiday was already off to a bad start, when even before leaving the house, our flight was already being delayed, which was great. After getting into Rhodes being late, well after midnight, we were told to find the coach for transfer at the end of the car park. We were given a piece of paper with a coach number and no other information or guidance, It was very dark and there were about 40 coaches, it was chaotic and unorganised and we spend about 15 mins looking for our transfer. When we finally arrived in the hotel, Lindos Royal, nearing 2am, there was only one member of reception staff, in his 70s and we were all made to queue for ages to be able to check it. While waiting, the main bar had 3 very loud male customers, who were carrying the female waitress on their shoulders and being really rowdy. It wasn’t pleasant to listen to after a long time travelling into the middle of the night. 

When we were seen to our room, it was a creepy member of staff, trying to hug us, it was very uncomfortable for us being two females, and on top of that, he was expecting a tip straight away, this was very awkward. There was a dripping toilet the whole night, which meant we got no sleep, and when we checked our swim up room, we realised our sun loungers had in fact no sun on them throughout the whole day. We tried to look for an EasyJet rep, to be met with a phone number, which it would cost us money to get in touch with them. We approached reception with the issues and were moved to a different room. When we arrived into our second room, the room was dated, with marks on the walls, ceiling, mouldy units and air conditioning that didn’t work. The towels were old, stained and holey. The swim up pool was dirty, the loungers were mouldy, smelly, broken, sunken in, one unusable and missing feet. The balcony furniture was rusted. It was gutting, especially how much extra we spent on the swim up room. The 3rd night we discovered a big cockroach in our room, which was disgusting. There was a big hole in the toilet ceiling also. 

From there, we had to make the best out of the very bad situation. The overall feel of the hotel was very run down and dirty, food fridges that were constantly leaking in the dining room, meaning there were soaking wet towels on the floor, missing and loose tiles in the pool, smell of the Calypso bar toilets. The toilets for the Thematic restaurant, which is meant to be a posher version, the toilets were unusable, there was about 5 cms of dirty water, with floating cigarette ends and also smelling terrible. The small cove/bay was untidy, full of empty glasses and cigarette ends too. There was a definite lack of toilets for the size of the premises. The food in the buffet restaurant was not a different theme every night, as advertised, sometimes the fish served was so smelly you could tell it was going off. The staff were very overworked and especially one female member, who was getting easily agitated with customers and slamming things about, breaking a bottle of oil during breakfast, and when in the thematic restaurant, kept walking into the back of my chair at least 4 times without an apology. 

There were loose wires exposed around the hotel, hanging from the ceilings, broken windows and cracked glass on the balconies on the top of the swim up rooms. We were promised a private swim up room, swim up bar and there was nothing, there were two sides of swim up rooms with rooms on top of them, facing each other, there was nothing private about them. 

Overall, the holiday was very disappointing and instead of getting the dream we paid for, we got a holiday nightmare. The hotel was advertised as 5 stars, however it was only about 3 stars at a push. We have come away feeling really deflated and disappointed and not happy and relaxed as you should be after a holiday. This was the worse and most stressful holiday we have ever had.

The a la carte restaurants where lovely and the lads behind the snack bar where so nice always remembered the order and more than happy to help the beach was a bit rocky but a short walk along the sand and the rocks cleared and it was perfect for swimming

Amazing first visit and we have booked to return again

The hotel itself has good facilities and the beach is on the doorstep.  Food is plentiful and good.  We arrived around 11.30pm and the hotel had hot food waiting for us which was a great welcome.  We had a family room for 4 which was nice, it had a dividing door and windows, but curtains would have been nice for extra privacy to change etc.  Hotel staff were very helpful.  The onsite shop which was well stocked was open until 11pm.  There were lots of cats and kittens around the site, which we and many others loved, so avoid if you have a cat phobia.   The only disappointing thing was they didnt have an iron to use, but did have laundry service.  
Also, the running machines in the gym were both out of order.
We went at the end of season, so wasnt too busy and had a really relaxing holiday.

Relaxing family holiday in beautiful surroundings

We stayed at this beautiful place for 7 nights, and honestly I can’t fault it.

We upgraded to a sea view room which had a large balcony with a gorgeous view. Perfect during the day and for star gazing! 

I thought the food was lovely. We were all inclusive. Best all inclusive food I have had. Drinks were also lovely and generous.

The entertainment was exceptional! I wish I knew the names of the groups to be sure to review them correctly. I think on Monday past, the group were ‘The Jersey Tones’. Wow. The talent from the Rock Night and the night that the three lovely ladies covering the likes of the Supremes was exceptional. 

Gorgeous views and beach all close by. Little paradise.

Comfortable pillows and beds. Facilities were all perfect. Pools were lovely. I know some found them cold but I feel that’s generally expected in a pool until your temperature adapts. Great supermarkets around the resort and options for Quad/Car Rental. We rented a quad and visited Lindos town as well as other parts of Rhodes. The roads are good and the drive was lovely, as was the gentleman who helped us with that. Highly recommend.

Every single staff member we met were kind and pleasant. The restaurant and bar staff are very attentive. The cleaning staff were so lovely and always did a great job. We reported a very young injured cat to the reception team and I admire the effort to help and compassion so much. Not long after the injured cat was treated by a vet. 
Yes, there are many cats around and I understand not everyone is an animal lover. However, the resort in my opinion do have boundaries in place in terms of cat inside the indoor restaurants. I seen staff doing so. It is wonderful Greece. I have been to a couple of Greek islands, and their love and care for stray cats and dogs is one of the most wonderful things about this country. So personally, having the cats around l, as they are all over Greece, is a pleasure. A special thank you to the staff for caring for them and for being so kind to us, as seeing an animal in pain was distressing.
