Nadur

Translated from 'Look Out', Nadur is situated on the eastern side of Gozo. It is the second most highly populated area in Gozo, after the capital Victoria.

When to go

The best time to visit Nadur would generally be between April and November when temperatures can reach 25°C. In April and May though, days can be slightly cooler. It also rains the most in November and December.

Therefore, if you are looking for the warmest and driest weather, you are best opting to visit Nadur between June and November.

Top Attractions

Nadur is home to Nadur Parish Church. A baroque parish Church in the town centre, it’s one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture on the entire island, featuring statues of St Peter and St Paul.

You can also visit the Kelinu Grima Maritime Museum. A slight change of scenery to the church, here you can discover a collection of maritime artifacts that come from all over the world. Top tip: Make yourself aware of the museum opening times before your visit as it is not open every day.

Nadur also hosts an annual carnival which is a popular tourist attraction, famous for its costume parade around the town.

Beaches

Nadur has two beaches, San Blas and Dahlet Qorrot, both of which are extremely popular for sunbathing and swimming.

Dining

Most of the restaurants in Nadur are located in the square and pizzerias and restaurants serving Mediterranean food definitely stand out.

Il Partita Terrace is a great choice of restaurant for Mediterranean food. Expect tasty, good-quality food and good value.

For more choice (particularly if you are a foodie!), you can take a bus from Nadur to Victoria, Xaghra and Marsalforn where you’ll find a wider variety of restaurants.

Entertainment

Nadur is well-known for its craft beer scene which you can enjoy drinking in Nadur’s quiet square. With its central location, there are a few restaurants and bars to drink in.

Looking for the most renowned bar? That would have to be Gebuba. Visited and re-visited by tourists, ex-patriots and locals, expect the biggest selection of beers, ciders, ales and craft beers in Malta. It has a friendly atmosphere and is right in the heart of Nadur.

Culture

As well as Nadur Parish Church and the various carnival celebrations, there are a few other cultural excursions you can experience in Nadur.

Isopu Tower, for one, is a historic coastal watchtower, also known as San Blas Tower.

Ta' Kenuna Tower is another interesting watchtower to take a walk to.
