The hotel situated in a side street just a few steps from the harbour/sea front, it as a welcoming reception with friendly helpful staff, rooms are well presented, roomy, very clean and very comfortable ,there is a balcony with a partial side sea view, the restaurant with its welcoming staff serves breakfast with a variety for all taste's. The hotel is well situated for bars ,restaurants, cruises/trips of all descriptions with the Sliema ferry to Valletta close by. There are a few mini markets close by as well.
Thank you for a pleasant and enjoyable 10 night stay.

Lovely Break

Firstly the good points, very central up a side street off the main road.Large rooms with excellent bathroom and shower, daily cleaning with pleasant staff. Not so good was the bedding it was crumpled and did not smell fresh at all, also no mattress protectors so fibres on the mattress poked through the sheets, this is not hygenic. We spoke to the housekeeper she advised that the bedding was cleaned by a third party and they did not use any perfumed detergents or press the bedding (it smelt like it had been dried in a kitchen to be honest) but agreed it was not good so placed an extra quilt on to the mattress and put the sheets on top so that nothing came through. For drinking we had one white cup and one chipped black mug, again they agreed this wasn't good so went away and looked for 2 black mugs which we got.
The breakfast room is way too small for the size of the hotel and you could not get through some areas as the tables and chairs were so close together. The breakfast was average at best and would be improved with warm plates to help keep the cooked items warm,fruit juice from the machines wasn't nice but coffee was fine.
Only one lift was working for half the week, this caused frustration as people were queueing in the tiny reception area. 
Out of the hotels control but loads of building work going on, about 30m from our balcony an old building had been demolished and they were clearing the site with a digger and trucks  this started really early at 6:30 am. The whole area is like a building site.
Access to the Aqualuna pool across the road was very nice, very clean with nice chilled music and views towards Valletta. You got tickets for access from reception,  as it is open to the public in a very busy location I can imagine this would be over subscribed in the summer.

Could be much better

This hotel is in a brilliant location, a stroll on the promenade to the Valletta ferry station, close to lots of nice restaurants and the swimming pool is very nice with great views! The staff in the hotel are all very pleasant. The rooms are spacious with a little balcony to sit out on (no view but still nice enough) 

However, the main thing that this hotel lacks is cleanliness. The bedding and towels are shocking (the housekeepers do a good job of cleaning and filling toiletries etc but the actual linen and towels are not adequate and would expect better) the mattress was bobbly and did not have a mattress protector only one sheet. One night I woke up and was lying on the bare mattress as the sheet came off. This is ridiculously unhygienic and my partner got a stye from the pillow as again they do not have pillow protectors. I take my own pillow case as I have allergies so I'd recommend you take your own too to avoid anything unpleasant. How can a hotel not have basic hygiene for the bedding? The towels are rough, not big enough more of a hand towel as opposed to a bath towel. One time the towel was marked too and like another review mentioned the bedding and towels do not smell fresh. You have to make the most of it so you try not to think about it. 

We had breakfast only twice on the 7 day trip as the room was very busy and full of people coughing, not a nice atmosphere and the food wasn't very good but had a wide selection. The coffee was nice though. 

People like to slam the doors in this hotel for some reason which is very inconsiderate. And if you have neighbours that smoke cigarettes the smell will linger into your room. The aircon worked which helped. 

Overall, it's a good option if you're on a budget and want to explore places nearby as the location is the best thing about this hotel. However, if you have the means to pay a little extra I recommend choosing another hotel nearby. If the bedding wasn't so bad I'd have given this hotel 4 stars considering the price.

Basic hotel, nice location but lacking cleanliness

All reviews are really true. Hotel nicely located, so you can easily visit Valleta, there lot of options for eating around hotel. Breakfast was per expectation (tasty and with different options). Rooms were spacious and with some view on harbor. I really want to outline friendly and helpful service we received here, all are very helpful and supportive. Very big thank you for Paula, who helped during out check in and later with our baggage issue - Paula is true professional!

I would recommend to change towels and bad sheets for new one, as it is visible they are old and need replacement.

Nice base for travel around Malta

Good size room, clean hotel. Very friendly staff. Good value for price.

Elevator is often out of service or operates very slow. I would recommend to ask for a lower level room so you can take the steps. Stairway doors close very loudly, so if your room is located close to the staircase the noise can disturb you - especially during the nights. Breakfast selection is average, gets a bit boring after the third morning.
