Beautiful Hotel in a good central position, ideal for visiting the city and a multitude of eating places. 
Friendly staff though quite a few were new and not quite up to speed. 
The weather was cooler than expected and the heating/air-conditioning in our room did not function properly.
We were told the heating was centrally controlled and we could not adjust it in our room. This turned out to be not quite true as they seem to be able to adjust our temperature if we complained enough. 
We had to complain many times to get the temperature increased, otherwise it was freezing.
We were facing the street and on the second floor. There was constant traffic noise , even during the night.

Disappointed

I have just return from Palazzo Ignacio. Hotel has excellent location, clean rooms, nice rooftop terrace!  Hotel has one of the friendliest staff I have ever met! As a travel agent I have enough experience to suggest: book this hotel in case you travel to Valetta!

A real gem in Valetta

Firstly the pros:

An excellent location to base your stay in Valletta. The staff are friendly and helpful. The 6th floor terrace has wonderful views over the city. And the bed was extremely comfortable.

Now the cons:

Housekeeping was a little hit and miss - never sure about timings of room cleaning etc.  The hot tub on the terrace was out of action. The bar (as it was) is poorly stocked.

Sadly the breakfast isn’t very good if you are vegan. The options are bread/toast and jams/preserves and fruit - but limited amounts of melon/kiwi etc. If you are a meat eater/vegetarian then the breakfast is ok.

I would suggest that this is more of an upmarket B&B than a hotel, but because of its location and the views from the terrace it is worth a visit for a night or two.

Comfortable but lacking a spark

As a passionate history enthusiast, visiting Malta has always been a dream of mine. Fascinated by the Crusades and World War II, I was eager to explore 7,000 years of history. The search for a hotel in Valletta was daunting but ultimately, I chose the Palazzo Ignazio. This hotel offered convenient walking access to restaurants, the ancient city, and breathtaking waterfront views from the rooftop breakfast area.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the remarkable Archie White at the reception desk. To our surprise, Archie turned out to be the General Manager, skillfully managing everything with the precision one would expect from someone educated in the UK and trained at The Ritz. He escorted us to our spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated room, setting the tone for a perfect stay.

Throughout our four-day visit, Archie went above and beyond to ensure our experience was exceptional. He recommended the finest restaurants and shops and personally arranged tours and reservations. It was a "puttin' on the Ritz" experience. Seeing Archie both early in the morning and late at night, always accommodating and cheerful, felt like reconnecting with an old friend each time.

There aren't enough stars to adequately rate Archie. As the old song goes, "Thanks for the memories." Thank you, Archie, for making our Malta memories unforgettable.

Hotel room (spa suite) was very nice and the staff, in particular Rania, was helpful and very friendly all through our trip. Great location walkable to many good restaurants and sites in the area of Valletta. Excellent place to spend a weekend in Malta.

Nice place to stay in Malta
