Pool

Excellent resort, stayed in alfagar aparthotel in a superior room. The apartments and balcony are huge and spotless. Beautiful view from the balcony. Many pools to choose from. Great place for families with kids there is so much to do and entertainment at night. We had breakfast included and it was buffet style, very nice something for everyone.

Excellent Resort

The hotel was very nice and the kitchen super practical. I can't say enough nice things about the balcony in general and the lounge chairs in particular. 
During the daytime the kids had huge fun with the Bellux entertainment team, special thanks to Carlota, Salomao & Hugo.

Great balcony with a view and entertainment

The hotel is good, even tho the first impression with the reception wasn’t the best, there’s definitely bad environment. But that was the only problem we had. Fortunately they have an amazing animation team Bellux. The Kids Club was the highlight along with the Disney night. Disney was magical, with all the characters. Bia, Hugo and the team are unstoppable.
We’ll be back.

Great pools and amazing Kids Club

Really enjoyed our recent stay , stayed in superior sea view room in prestige and would definitely recommend for a family of 4 . All mod cons, super clean and view from balcony was amazing. Housekeeping was 6 days per week which was great. Complex has loads of pools including heated pool which was a huge hit with the kids and you can use pools also across the road at the other hotel which I think a lot of people don't realize.  Beach also within walking distance but steep walk down to it from resort but well worth a look. Staff on site were lovely and very helpful with all queries. Food on site was good enough value at the pool but some of the food in Cafeteria was very expensive. Drinks such as coke are pricey at 4 quid a pop so better off buying these at spar where can cost 1. 20. Mini market and spar shop just across the road and you can get everything you need there, amazing orange juice and custard tarts also at the Spar. Mini market also in the complex which is great as well as atm and tour office where you can book boat rides around Bengali caves and dolphin watching which was amazing and highly recommended.
We also did a trip to Zoomarine which was amazing and it's probably worth paying for 2 days as it only costs a tenner extra. Get here early as it can get busy but such fun with rides, shows, aquarium and it's own beach. 
Walk to the strip in Albufeira new town takes about 20 mins from complex if you are looking for cheap food and drink but it's a bit grim for families and if you have young children very loud and bit run down. 
Old town about 40 mins walk and would recommend getting there before 5pm if with families as it's super loud , brash and a lot of drunk people everywhere. Would recommend lovely Italian there called Ricardo's and try and get rooftop seat. However down near the beach is bit quieter and worth a visit. 
We used Ubers everywhere which are cheapest option for travel and used Ubers eats couple nights for take away which suited. 
Entertainment looked good and kids enjoyed reptile and bird show and kids club looked good also but can't comment on more as we didn't attend much of the entertainment at night. 
Overall, we had a fantastic time and will defo return to the alfaghar. 
Only quibble is that the noise from chairs scraping on balcony was annoying and this could be alleviated by putting rubber padding on the legs, this would make a huge difference.

Amazing stay, highly recommend

We stayed in the new prestige part of Alfagar aparthotel, rooms were spacious and very clean with nice airy decor, my two kids slept on the sofa bed which I slept on 3 nights I didn’t find it very comfy but kids didn’t complain. We purchased the buffet dinner deal and found the buffet in sister hotel across the road alto da Colina to be way better than Olivera, it was more spacious and had more options, they had a themed night every night and we really enjoyed it, we also went over for breakfast also which also had more options! The pools were all lovely, we spent the week at the kids pool and had so much fun, my kids are 3 and 6 we didn’t leave the resort only to go to spar 3 mins down the road, we will definitely return

Great hotel for families

This hotel has an enviable location overlooking the ocean, offering a memorable panoramic view of the coastline. The hotel has a private access to Santa Eulália Beach via stairs, and it is surrounded by beautiful gardens. There are many popular tourist centres, several golf courses and a riding centre nearby and, 10 kilometres away, guests will find the popular centre of Vilamoura with its world-famous golf courses, casino and marina. The beach and numerous restaurants are on the hotel's doorstep, while pubs and nightlife spots are 3 kilometres away. The accommodations have a modern and renovated decoration. The rooms are designed in such a way that the rest is guaranteed through its comfortable beds and cozy atmosphere, excellent furniture and complete equipment of the unit, they encourage visitors to explore the beaches and enjoy the sun in the complex.
