Grand Muthu Oura View Beach Club - Outdoor Pool

Having read reviews I was dubious about booking this hotel however we had a lovely time. 
On arriving late at night Carlos sorted out our room and booked our evening meals in our chosen restaurants; Carlos was extremely friendly and polite and my 5 year old Grandson was always happy to see him. 
I’d made the decision, having read reviews, to upgrade our room and our 1 bed apartment was clean, spacious and had a fabulous view. 
The food in the Aqua restaurant and the Italian were our favourite meals and I do think the food could be improved in the other restaurants to meet 5 star expectations. 
Having stayed in several 5 star hotels I wouldn’t class this as 5 star, a couple of reasons being no branded drinks on all inclusive, uncomfortable tied together sunbeds and no pool towels included (there is a charge for pool towels). 
At the end of the day you get what you pay for and we had a very pleasant stay at an extremely good price.

Hotel was dirty looking needed a clean up the room we had was tired  and old crack in sink bathroom was old and outdated tiles cracked stains on curtains wall plugs left in the wall sockets hanging of the wall full of drunk party people drinking all day and night our bath was going rusty round by the plug hole patio door needed two people to close and lock it pants sitting on top of a wall by our room the sky bar closed at 10:30 so no more drinks the only good thing was the staff and pool food was ok always the same food we paid 3280 for 10 days would not go back still waiting for my refund of 100 euros which we wasn’t told about,it’s for the room in case you damage it

Not a five star

If this is a 5 star accommodation could not imagine what a lower rated hotel would be like.
From the start I expected a more from a 5 star hotel 
No porters or offered any trolleys with our luggage 
Dictated and reception what we could do. Sign here sign there 100€ deposit incase we broke anything. Think the whole furniture you could buy for less than 100€
As we arrived after 10 pm we were not offered a drink as the bar was closed 10.30pm It was an effort even to get some water.
2 single beds which have seen better days when pushed together the beds dipped ?
The living room and bedroom were quite large however thats where the good points end . Rooms are more set up for self-catering. Curtains were not black out curtains worn away in  several places. Had to use footwear in the rooms  as the floors were dirty.
Bathroom very dated . Bathwater was brown , shower was more like a power washer as it had no control on it. Toilet was reported as it constantly ran. Around the sink the silicon was worn and disgusting.
Sockets in the room were loose.Lights constantly went off. 
Balcony furniture poor quality and dirty.
Aqua Bar for breakfast and lunch was fine
Restaurants for evening meals had to be booked by 11am on the day. However when you asked to book something they were always fully booked , but we could book the Indian for the next day ?? Menu at the Indian restaurant  was a set menu which was presented in a prison metal tray. Beggars belief 
5-10 min walk from the hotel to the speciality restaurants advertised by the hotel chain 
Jac's restaurant which is more of a dining hall experience. No Tea or coffee available.
Food at Jac's is not up to much
Tried to access the indoor pool but was closed apart from one day. 
You  need to purchase slippers and cap. Again 5 star hotel with added extras 
Day time entertainment consisted of water aerobics , a dart board and table tennis for about 1 hour or so 

This is not 5 star hotel in of any sort. Very Dated Rooms&Decor

5 star in Portugal with the same furniture in Tenerife in 1990

Not so good points first … as with other reviews it unfortunately isnt a 5 star . 
The rooms are dated,  need refurbishing and set up for self catering . The room we had was a terrace and although had a large outside area the view was a high brick wall in front of us and to the side felt very caged in and 5 mins walk from the strip so sitting outside was very noisey day and night . 
Food … on arrival bombarded with lots of information about all the restaurants . Wasn’t made clear most of these were off site and you had to book and book in advance . Arrived late at night and only there for  5 days went to book for food  the following day … real struggle to find anywhere available for speciality restaurants on all 5 days and we had booked all inclusive ! 
Advice …. Research the places to eat in advance and book in to required restaurants when checking in .. otherwise it could be buffet in jaks every night  as that’s the only guaranteed place available 
Food …. However Did manage to visit some restaurants after some discussion at reception ! 
and Worked out the issue with the restaurant availability 
It’s due to the seating . We visited the Italian , aqua and the Chinese mandarin and looked in on the  Mexican and Indian as we couldn’t get a place . These areas are not restaurants as such they are portable cabin type places set up in areas providing themed food and are small with small amount of tables and seating . The mandarin we countered 10 tables ! 
Food was actually really nice but only a small set main  menu and help yourself style buffet for starters which seemed the  same food on offer in  all the restaurants . The Mandarin Chinese was a set starter of two small spring rolls two chicken wings and 4 onion rings … for 2 people !! The main course came in a small bowel .. and no puddings . Also had to keep asking for drinks all the time …. No drinks menu in the mandarin . 
Food opening times on site was limited .. breakfast closes at 10.30am pool bar opens but didn’t serve food , no access to food until 12.30 then it closed again at  2.30  until 6pm 
There is a snack bar for cakes coffee and wraps from 3 til 6 but it’s the other side of the complex up stairs and uphill if you are by the pool area and want some food between 2.30 and 6 pm … it’s a hike up the hill ! 
Drinks … we ended up laughing by the end of 5 days …as all  inclusive on site seem to be sent to bed at 22.30 pm as the one and only bar on site closed at 22.30 pm .The other bar areas in the other sites also closed early .. last orders was 10pm in the ocean bar 
 No entertainment in the day except aqua aerobics around the pool 12.30 pm and then waterpolo at 4.30pm … otherwise music from radio station played on low level . No evening entertainment , sky bar is very small football on the tv but no stage or anything . 
Also area outside and around the hotel is very lively .. if you are young , but we are in 50,s and places to go are limited ! Beach front restaurants to go for a drink also closed by 10 pm at time we were there in June .. maybe different July/august 
Pool area … you can’t move the sunbeds as they are tied down so can’t move with the sun also have to pay to rent beach towels .. so take your own 

Good points … hotel and pool area very clean , rooms cleaned and towels changed daily . Staff in reception and around the hotel very polite and helpful staff in restaurant bar areas work very hard , tables always cleaned and set up ready and food regularly topped up in buffet areas . 
The view across the pool  to the sea is amazing and hotel is beach front with an amazing beach just steps away from hotel . 
Food provided was lovely and was of good quality , drinks were ok , limited cocktails but seemed normal amounts of alcohol in them . 
No noise heard from actually inside room once patio door was closed even though room  was very close to the main strip area 

Overall we had a pleasant 5 night stay and a lovely holiday .
It isn’t a 5 star and there are lots of room for improvements but I booked this hotel for the beach front location and the lovely  pool area and I wasn’t disappointed so hence the 4 star rating

Oura View Beach Club was an amazing and luxury feeling for the way the Hotel is placed , the Ambience, food and the staff were explicit as their level of hospitality was top notch.
Whilst in the buffet are came across Alwyn the GM  that was very helpful explaining the cuisine served for that day even though his busy schedule and also assisted with other restaurants available to dine at across the estate. 
Overall my wife and myself enjoyed the whole experience and would surely visit again.
