This is my 4th visit to this lovely hotel , the standard is very high & feel relaxed soon as you enter the stunning reception area always met with a smile , the rooms are to a high standard very clean , great shower too ! , this time of year is very quite in November ,which you would expect & sunbeds are away , but around the pools they are still there , a new addition is down at the beautiful beach bar ,where there is a vip section located on the roof , free at this time of year , but a luxury in summer with champagne I think .My friend seemed to think about 135 euros a day ! , the beach with sun loungers in summer is a stunning view , surrounded by the colourful cliffs , or sunbathe up the top amongst the pine trees . The breakfast here is soo good , always met with a smile by the staff & great selection , with sparkly wine a nice added touch had to be done every morning , the restaurants at night are very good especially the piri piri .If your looking for a relaxing holiday with high standards then this is the place to come ! , thankyou for another lovely stay .

Few relaxing days 

Pine Cliffs resort is absolutely stunning. We ended up with a 2 bedroom,  2 bathroom unit with a veranda. The resort is about a 10 min taxi ride from historic Albufiera but easy enough to get to. The resort has almost anything you could want, sits on cliff overlooking a beautiful beach and the staff is amazing.  Just outside the resort is a well stocked market, multiple restaurants etc.

Algarve visit

Good resort overall.
Negatives were: 
The noise of moving chairs in rooms above. Between 8-12pm this becomes an annoying screeching noise. You cannot hear any tv, or people or any other noise but this. For 3k in December or 15k in July (3 bed apartment) would not expect this.
Indoor pool cold - heard other families complain about this - cold to the point the kids will not enter.
No footballs available on pitch, needed to call and complain in order for balls to be delivered. If you market resort with football pitch (ready to use) have the balls available! I should not need to walk 1k to collect from kids club.
Kid’s pirate play area is boring for my 3 kids. Require slide and larger swings, trampoline, cable slide etc. They will not be stimulated by a static ship.
Bike hire place was closed the day I went to hire bikes (note said be back soon). Went to play golf, this is a paid for event. It was good, but wanted to bike and had to pay for golf.
In my opinion, the complex also requires an indoor kids centre, soft play, tables to draw, a library and stimulates.
The jacuzzi was also 37 degrees on the second day - which after a cold pool, is not exactly hot.
It claims to be max 40 degrees but thermostat stated 37. The games room (arcade games) requires an update. Very old games - swag rally, with pixelated graphics, and worn carpets. It reminded me of a tacky English seaside resort.
Further investment and a plan is required to understand the requirements of children aged circa 5-12 in order to keep them stimulated. Educational activities and physical challenges are needed.

Pine cliffs gardens - Pinhal do Concelho

We had a 2 bed apartment during the October half term week in the new "Gardens" section of the Pine Cliff resort.
The apartment had everything we needed, was really modern, great location near the pool and not too far to walk to the main resort area, and the housekeeping each day was fantastic. 
The pool in this area was far too cold though, it was more like an ice bath experience.
The resort on the whole is kept very clean and has some unbelievable views over the cliffs and the coast. It does have a luxury feel to it in most parts like the ocean suites reception and the champagne bar.

The main negative for us was that the resort clearly charges (overcharges) for everything they possibly can. For example; to book onto a group gym class its minimum 15 euros and to flood light the tennis courts its an additional 5 euros charge (that's on top of the 40 euros for the hour)- all other 5 star resorts we have stayed in these have been included. What I thought was particularly ridiculous was that I ordered a hot water with a slice of lemon at the golf club house and this was 4 euros! We have stayed all over the world in 5 star resorts and I fully understand paying a hotel premium but the charges here were just petty and worse than we have experienced even in places such as Dubai.

Comfortable and Modern

Sticky tables everywhere, awful food in all resort restaurants apart from Mare. I’ll never understand the good reviews. This is not a 5 star resort. The staff look incredibly miserable too. Not their fault but makes you wonder if they have good working conditions.

Avoid at all costs if you want a true 5 star resort.
