Pool

I enjoyed the hotel, but feel the rooms could be updated, especially the bathrooms. I tried getting a spa appointment, but it was impossible due to lack of staff. Hiring more personnel and even having cubanas/tables by the beach could have been used to accommodate more guests. 

My first visit to Algarves, Portugal

For sun, sea sea and sand (the beach is very impressive), then this location if for you.
I have stayed at most of the Portobay Hotels in Madeira, and Falesia does not quite match up to any of them. It may be one of the older hotels in the group I don’t know, but it feels dated in its design.
The nearby village of Olhos d”Agua was disappointing , the bars, cafes and shops unappealing. Overall the holiday did not match expectations

Sun, sea and sand

We enjoyed our stay and found the hotel to be clean and all the staff very helpful. The hotel also has an Italian restaurant which on our booking entailed an extra cost. We dined there once, and the food was excellent. Well worth the additional cost. There is also a large swimming pool with plenty of sunshades and loungers. Ther room we had was on the first floor and was adequate for our need although a little dated. The main restaurant offered a wide variety of food which has generally very good. There was some evening entertainment, but it was not to our liking.

ENJOYABLE BREAK

I was one of a group of four family and friends and I don't normally go for hotels as high as 4 star. I was overall really impressed with just about everything at this hotel so will not even try and think of anything to criticise! From the location to the facilities to the service and friendliness of the staff to the food the room etc. Would definitely stay here again...

Late summer holiday

The Faleisa is a great hotel in a fantastic location and has pleasant helpful staff but it is time for some investment. Our second visit this year and fifth in 3 years.
Rooms are tired and need a re vamp, some of the outdoor facilities need  tidying up. The putting green area is an embarrassment.
Food again is of good choice and standard in the main restaurant, but personally don't see II basilica as an improvement, why go Italian in Portugal.
No doubt the manager will reply thanking me for the praise and promise to consider points raise as he does on most reviews highlighting room for improvement.
The rooms need to be refurbished soon or regular people will look elsewhere.
We are regular visitors to the Porto Mare complex in Madeira and the rooms are not in the same class here.
Don't get me wrong they are adequate and always clean but as a four star you would think they would keep on top of rooms. We have been in different rooms in different parts of the hotel over the 3 years and it's a similar story.
It's not a cheap hotel and you expect things to progress but it's does not seem to be a priority. It is very good and the staff are a credit. 
Shame as it could be so much better with some investment. 

Time to spend

The magic of the white sand merges with the ochre rocks typical of the Algarve. This is an unrivalled location, overlooking Praia da Falésia in Olhos de Água, within walking distance of a shopping centre, and a plethora of restaurants and bars. It offers a lagoon-style pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, a wellness center with excellent equipment for health lovers to keep fit during their holidays, and a putting green for relaxation to be enjoyed to the fullest. Guests may also use the conference facilities, car park and garage services, and younger guests will love the playground. Also, guests can hire a bicycle, enjoy Internet access and room and laundry services. The elegant rooms are equipped with all the electrical appliances required for a comfortable stay, and some have access to a porch or balcony overlooking the green gardens of the Falésia Porto Bay.
