Pool

Hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are a good size. Not much out round the hotel but there is a little train the goes past the hotel hourly which will take u down into the main strip where there is bars, restaurants and shops. Food is alright and they do themed nights but it’s all much the same with a small selection for kids. Staff are friendly & work hard. The entertainment at night could be improved as it’s not great. The only thing that spoiled things for us was there was quite a few young football teams staying at the hotel who run wild in the restaurants as their mentors sit talking among themselves eating and drinking. Also the kids were kicking footballs in the lobby while reception staff did nothing. Not really what you want when you’ve paid so much to go on holiday to relax!

Could be better

Terrible experience! It is advertised as a family resort but they have very loud music parties until 11pm at night. The party is hold just below all the rooms at the pool, when they have a second pool further away from the rooms and also a theatre. Very bad management! Made constant complaints to reception but the music only stopped when they finished their show.

Not a family friendly resort

Hotel is clean and the staff work very hard to keep it that way.
We arrived for a weeks holiday on Tuesday and all was ok until Saturday when the hotel was taken over by youth football teams from around the world.
We have never seen such bad behaviour especially in the restaurants where so much food was wasted by these youths.
Clearing the buffet counters quicker than the staff could fill them and then wasting it.
These youths were left to run around the restaurant while the staff with them sat on table drinking beer and wine.
Food was ok but nothing special.
Room we had was clean and well maintained.
Plenty of sun loungers around the grounds but not that comfortable after a short while.
Drinks are served in small plastic cups.
We enjoyed our week but feel let down by the hotel allowing so many football teams to stay at the same time.
We will not be returning but that is not the hotels fault.

Could of been better

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the food was excellent, always fresh superb quality. A little bit repetitive at times but plenty of choice and most of it is cooked in front of you. The hotel was spotless. The pools are amazing. Great cocktail menu.

17th June - 27th June

Location - there’s not much located around the hotel. Few shops up the road and a supermarket about a 20 min walk about. It’s about a 40 min walk to the main area. There’s a train that goes by every hour, 4 euro return per person which is a good option. 

Hotel - really clean and open. Rooms were as you expect, nothing too exciting as you’re only in them to get ready and sleep.

Pools -  pools were nice but it’s about a 3-5 min walk from your hotel room to the kids pool area so be sure you remember and take what you need because it’s a pain if you have to go. We spent all our time at that one but the other pool is located closer. Plenty of options down at the kids area and ours loved it so I couldn’t complain. Plenty of sunbeds and shaded area although it was getting busier every day prior to us leaving so be sure to get down for 9 o’clock when opening. 

Pool bar - only 2 alcoholic drinks served per person so you’re up a quite a few times  as the beers are in 200ml plastic cups and the cocktails are in 250ml cups. Fizzy juice and water is self serve. Would be handy if they made the beer that way also. Coffees are much nicer from the pool bar than the food hall. 

Food - food was ok, just as you’d expect from an all inclusive hotel. Themed nights every night for 7 nights then went back to the start. Only a few nights I didn’t like some stuff but that’s just how it is sometimes but I still managed to have something. 

Entertainment - really wasn’t in to the entertainment, it’s just the animation team singing and dancing every night pretty much. Got a bit boring to be honest and even the kids were asking to leave after 20 mins.
The animation team really only spoke to their own nationality (French, Spanish or Portuguese), didn’t really have much interaction from them at all during my time there which I’m surprised because any other resort they’re normally very proactive in speaking to everyone. 

Kids club - only went up once, you need money to go on everything and make sure you go to the stand to get the token. The kids disco was a bit babyish for my kids liking (8 & 7) so we just gave it a miss after that. They have a hit with drinks but only have beer and wine, no spirits on offer.

Ukino hotel

This luxurious hotel is conveniently located a mere 300 metres from Vila Senhora da Rocha beach, a white sandy beach where guests can find their balance between body and soul and connect with the wild. Nearby to the property, visitors will find numerous stunning beaches like Armaçao de Pêra or Grande Poente beach. The nearest airport to the premises is Faro international airport, which is at an approximate distance of 55 kilometres away. The spacious, luminous and well-equipped guest rooms and suites are the perfect spaces in which visitors can unwind and recover their energy after a busy day. Most of them even have a balcony or terrace with spectacular views to the Atlantic Ocean. There is a large outdoor swimming pool with a fun children's area, as well as a mini club for the little ones.
