Pool

We stayed 25 nights in Rocha Brava in two apartments. We didn't like the first one - 315 - because of one very uncomfortable mattress plus the noise from the tennis/pickleball courts. Plus everything inside, while working, was the bottom quality. The second apartment - 467B - was better (the mattress and the overall comfort), plus ocean view with nice sunsets.
The service was good and timely.
The sports facilities have an extra charge, which I found rather unexpected, considering that the resort is expensive compared to the neighbourhood. On top on that I didn't get any refund when it rained after 15-30 minutes into the time allotted.

Expensive and dated

We stayed at the Rocha Brava Village Resort for just under two weeks and it was wonderful. No negatives. 

The apartments and grounds were very well maintained. 

Everyone at the resort was helpful and we will definitely go back. 
 
The Coffee Shop was a very nice place to have meals.

Rocha Brava Village Resort - Wonderful Resort

We stayed there for a week in 2023 and decided to return for a week this year. We booked a one bedroom first floor apartment 7 months in advance. 
We even dropped by 5 days before our planned arrival date to check on the reservation only to be informed by Reception that it was not available but the Manager would try to accommodate us. Fast forward to Saturday and the situation had not changed and we would have to settle for a ground floor apartment that had a few deficiencies. We were told that the Manager was off for the weekend and had to stay in that apartment until Monday. Even the staff in Reception indicated that this apartment assignment/scheduling issue should not have happened given how long ago we had booked.
Fortunately for us, we dealt with the Resort Director to resolve the issue on Monday morning so we were switched to an appropriate apartment on the 1st floor. Kudos to her for taking the time to understand the situation and reward our loyalty.
There seemed to be some ongoing construction on the grounds this year as major landscaping was happening near the tennis courts, the seaside pool and on the grounds as more apartments were having new roofs or repair work completed so it was a little noisier this year with all the construction equipment around.
In spite of that, the resort's location for hiking the 7 Hanging Valleys and walking the 3 KM into Carvoeiro is ideal.

Not As Pleasant As 2023

Rocha Brava is in a fantastic location. The grounds and facilities and staff great. Whilst our apartment was a lovely size and lovely outdoor area looking into the gardens inside was in desperate need for a refurbishment. The bedrooms felt damp and the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen was very old and tired. If the apartment was refurbished I would have already booked for next year as the resort itself was great.

Easter break

I'll start with the fact that we dropped on a lovely modern 2 bed apartment with a roof top terrace , as has been discussed before the rooms are privately owned and you could drop on one that's maybe not as good as the one we had.
The grounds were kept in immaculate condition and the four pools were great , cold though, other than the very small indoor heated one.  Staff were great and always smiling .
I know a few people have also commented on the prices on site so here's a summary
The coffee shop was quite expensive but if you go in for a nightcap (5 euro for an Estrella , saying that the average we paid out and about was probably over 4 euros) and they have a live singer on I'm sure you can live with that .   The Pool Bar was expensive so a tip is to pop into "The View" right next door if you fancy a drink while watching the tennis from the roof terrace!  Tennis Courts looked in great condition if anyone fancies a knock up.
The Supermarket I found not to be overly expensive , a little dearer than the Spar just up the road but its there for convenience at the end of the day.
We didn't eat in the on site restaurant and there were no prices on show so can't comment.

I'd take an hour or two just to have a look around the grounds when you arrive to get your bearings , its a lovely stroll round but it can be a bit like a rabbit warren ..... don't worry you won't get lost and die of exposure though !
We didn't use the courtesy bus into town at all but it runs about 3 times a day , book it at reception.
It was probably the best "resort" and room we've ever had on holiday , it really was that good !
I wouldn't hesitate in booking again when we go back to Portugal . If you picked up this place and put it close to Carvoeiro you would be paying a hell of a lot more to stay there , that I can tell you. 
Its a good 35 minute walk at a decent pace to get to Carvoeiro main beach and the closest beach is about 15/20 mins , the resorts that big it depends where you're room is on the complex really.
Anyway , that just about sums it all up , give it a try and hope you get room 463B , you could always ask for it  (wink wink)

Fantastic

Built in traditional Portuguese style, this attractive resort with apartments and villas is located on top of a cliff close to the beautiful lighthouse of Alfanzina and enjoys panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. The enchanting old fishing village of Carvoeiro is just 3 km away, fantastic beaches such as Praia do Carvoeiro, Praia Grande or Praia da Senhora da Rocha are within a short drive. The international airport of Faro is about 65 km away.
Each of the units is equipped with a washing machine, ensuring a truly hassle-free stay. Some of the superior rooms not only boast sea views, but also include a dishwasher and microwave.
The property offers a restaurant, coffee shop, bar and a free transport 3 times a day to the beach Carvoeiro.
