Pool

This hotel is most definitely not a 5 star. They must be paying behind the door for that rating. We found the staff rude and abrupt. We are a family of 4 yet they split our rooms up. There was no one staying in any of the surrounding rooms but they weren’t interested when we asked to be moved. There’s is no entertainment on at all in this hotel daytime or evening. The rooms were very tired and run down. We had a hole in our main door. There also any infested too. The cleaning staff try their best but they are cleaning tired rooms “5 star”. The breakfast was ok but very repetitive. Thank god we didn’t go full board as the evening buffet menu was awful. The pool are is great but again a little tired. You also get get served at the bar in the hotel until after 6pm. Don’t believe what you see on the internet regarding photos. Professional photos don’t show all the broken tiles etc. the indoor pool was being refurbished so we didn’t see that. The tennis courts there’s 2 of again very tired looking. In the rooms it’s one sun lounger between two which is very bizarre. The golf course is immaculate so if you love golf I’m sure you will enjoy the course however the rest of it is pretty run down. The roots of the trees are pushing up the path in the row we were in. My daughter fell a cracker and no one was interested. Use Uber to get about as it’s half the price to get to the marina than using a taxi and you pay the less tha €6 upfront so they can’t take the tourist route. The Marina we found sleazy. Full of gentlemen’s clubs and massage parlours. My husband got asked 5 times in 6 nights if he wanted a happy ending 😂. Il add photos to back up what I’m saying but this is not value for money and overall we have a poor review of our first time in Portugal

I wanted a few days away to relax and unwind, this is for certain what I got….  I loved the hotel, loved the food, loved having my breakfast next to the birds / ducks … my room was nice , plenty of space for me … good size bathroom… All areas clean, don’t be put off by reading the other reviews, not all hotels can be freshly painted , new and modern for ever…  nothing wrong with this place if you want to relax…

Perfect to unwind !

Ten of us visited Vila Sol for 4 nights from June 2nd.
Greens and fairways are excellent.Some tees are still in need of attention but generally great. Excellent value for a great golf trip.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfast each day was exceptional.

Totally great value golf experience

Exceptional  customer service both at the front desk and by the guest services manager and the manager on duty. Happy to stay here again. Great value for the money. It’s a but dated but I’m into the 90’s vibe. The pool is such a highlight. Great for lounging and tanning. My dog was welcomed and they gave her a quality brand welcome box. Nice touches. Most importantly, everything is clean and so spacious.

Great spot, location and value. Comfy large rooms. Fantastic pools. Pet friendly.

Stayed in a garden villa that could have done with a refit. It was just all a bit worn and unloved. The indoor pool needs a full refurb, rust everywhere and a bit grubby. The clubhouse staff and food were absolutely lovely. There’s no shops anywhere nearby and you will need to get an Uber anywhere you want to go as the hotel is quite far out of the centre. 
Golf course was immaculate. 

The pool bar was okay but they really need to heighten the nets from the driving range. In more than one occasion stray balls came over and into the pond next to the bar. Very dangerous. Also the local birds feast on leftovers as the tables aren’t cleared regularly. 

Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice and no rush to get you out of the restaurant. 

Excellent for groups of golfers, not much else to do.

Fine for golf groups
