Pool

Arrival
greeted by a member of staff whom showed us to the check-in desk.
Check-in was quick and efficient and the staff were excellent

Room
Nice spacious room, which overlooked the sea.
Bed was comfy and the bathroom had everything you would expect.

Pool Areas
These were spacious and only busy on one day (Saturday) which appeared that locals booked into the hotel to enjoy it over the weekend.

Breakfast
Excellent choice from freshly made omelets to fresh fruit to sweet treats for the children.

Location
We found this in a very good location, 10-15mins walk into the main town, but far enough away from the main town to have to good local restaurants.

PLANTS.....the hotel has an array for plants, flowers and even bananas! 

Staff
All the staff we met were excellent, from breakfast, to pool, to gelato shop to the room cleaner.
The staff should be commended on there work ethic and warm manner.

This was our first visit, an we will be back again soon.

Great Hotel and Staff

Second stay at Savoy Palace,  and the same great experience!
We love everything! The very comfortable bed, the fantastic breakfast .. the pools, the spa! And the fantastic view from our room!
Of course that we also need to highlight the staff! Friendly, always available and helpful.

Só sure, that we will repeat soon ☺️

Savoy Palace - always fantastic!

We stayed at this hotel in Funchal for 9 nights. Customer service and the standards at this hotel are exceptional. The welcome we received from the minute we arrived was excellent. The staff here can’t do enough for guests. They are friendly and professional. Everywhere is kept spotlessly clean by very hard working cleaning staff. The ocean view room we stayed in was large and very comfortable, with a large balcony. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day. The staff who carry out the turn down service also go the extra mile to make the guest experience special. Staff in the restaurants are very smart and provide excellent customer care and service. We strayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was very varied and had excellent choices of hot and cold choices. We ate at the Alameda restaurant some lunchtimes. The menu is varied and the meals are very high quality, at a reasonable price. The main pool is large with plentiful sun beds. There are some sun-beds which have comfortable cushions on and these are particularly good for people like myself who suffer from joint pain. The minor irritation which really should be discouraged in a hotel of this standard is that guests were reserving the comfortable sun-beds and then disappearing for breakfast or for even longer preventing other guests from using these beds. Emanuel who works at the pool deserves a special mention. He is keen to ensure guests comfort and enjoyment. He is polite and friendly and went out of his way to help us find sun beds which were comfortable because I mentioned that the other sun beds were very uncomfortable for me to sit on. The pool and gardens are beautiful and very clean. Other guests have written reviews about the pool being cold which it was cool but this did not spoil any of the enjoyment of using it. The managers at this hotel can be very proud of their staff who do a brilliant job and make the experience of staying here special. We loved this hotel and Madeira and want to definitely return again in the future.

Loved everything about the Savoy Palace Hotel

This is our last full day at the Savoy Palace and we've had a brilliant time. The staff are amazing - all superfriendly and helpful and courteous.  The surroundings are beautiful. Would definitely recommend it and can't wait to come back again!

Great Holiday- fabulous hotel

Absolutely stunning hotel. We stayed here for a week on holiday.
The room was on the 14th floor to give us a sea view. The room was large with a balcony. The hotel sits back from the sea over looking two other hotels, recommend high floor if you want a sea view. All areas of the hotel was spotless. Gardeners out pruning and cutting grass constantly. Plenty of bars and restaurants. The vimes bar had live music every night,every band we saw were a good standard. Although the hotel looked busy,clientele did not frequent the bars at night. There is a quiet bar with no music. The galaxy bar is very modern this is a rooftop bar with great views over Funchal. It has a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast is fantastic the choice is amazing. When we were there the hotel accommodated a large conference the hotel can still cope. The price for food and drink is what you expect of a hotel of this standard. All the staff are pleasant and efficient. The guys at the pool very attentive especially the bald guy (sorry never got his name).The pool area has loads of sun beds you will always get one but there is still people who go every morning before breakfast and put towels down even though there is signs that this is against the rule. We sat at the pool one day and a couple put towels down went away and never came back for hours. The hotel cannot control this it persists all over. You can use facilities at Savoy Royal if you like sitting at the sea.
We have been to Maderia four times first time at this hotel. 
Would highly recommend this hotel .
