AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Stayed here with my two friends for a girls holiday . 

There was three of us so we needed three beds , we were given a room for two people, one double bed. We asked for a bigger room as we were missing a bed and it was very small for three adults, however we were refused and told they had no space.  

The option was to place a bed in the room. We weren’t happy with this as there was no way to squeeze another bed , however we accepted this. 

They said it would take 30 mins to have the bed sorted so we decided to go out.  We came back three hours later and  there was still no bed.  We went back down to reception and spoke to another staff member about the situation, she understood and immediately gave us another room.  When we arrived in the room the shower was broken. There was a shower head just laying in the bath and we had to shower for two days with a pipe. There was no communication with reception staff about I.e when it was going to be fixed , until a man turned up and fixed it randomly on the third day. 

The shower head came off again so we fixed it ourselves as it was easier.

The staff are very miserable and not approachable at all. The only friendly staff members were the photographers and the man in the outside bar.  The rest were very ignorant and didn’t seem interested to help.

We had no clean bedding all week, however the room was cleaned well we had fresh towels and the cleaners did a good job at freshening up the room, however a change of bedsheets would have been nice.

- The hotel was packed with teenage boys and we were on the same floor as a group of teenage boys who kept ringing our bell screaming and shouting early hours of the morning and blasting music.  We complained to the hotel staff, however they didn’t seem to care and I don’t think anything was done as their response was “ there is a football tournament”. This also happened to others staying in the hotel.

-We were bed and breakfast, the food was barely edible. The pastries were nice but apart from that the cooked breakfast was awful. Avoid the hash browns they were like cardboard!! 

- The restaurant on the upper floor seemed to be a lot more dirtier so we went to the lower floor, cutlery was dirty and plates not cleaned properly and tables were barely wiped clean .  

- The pools were nice and the animation team seemed good, and the rooftop bar was lovely but that was the only good from the hotel.

Hotel Catfish !!

We visited in June 2024 for 9 nights as a family of 4 with 2 young children. When booking the hotel I thought I had looked into things such as location which was noted as being ‘good’ however it is the complete opposite side of the bay to what would be considered traditional Benidorm. Getting to the centre takes at least 1 hour on foot but you can get a bus/taxi. I wouldn’t have minded so much only there is hardly anything around the hotel. There are a few bars that serve some food but this is mostly overpriced fast food such as burgers and kebabs. There is a supermarket very close which is well priced, the ‘mercadona’ however the rooms only offer a small fridge which doesn’t fit a lot in. We stayed bed and breakfast which we felt wouldn’t be an issue as we like to eat out but as mentioned earlier locally there isn’t a lot so this did become an issue. There are some more if you walk along the beach but these were more expensive restaurants again. 

Breakfast was the same daily but fine in what they offer, the usual cereal/English breakfast type stuff along with some Spanish items, continental with meats/cheeses/breads and then fruit/youghurts/cakes, again was absolutely fine for us. 

Reception staff can be quite unhelpful. When asking seemingly common questions such as, what entertainment is on, where do we go for this etc. they seemed dumbfounded and just shrugged their shoulders.

It’s not necessarily well advertised but you can load your room card with money to get cheaper drinks at the bar, not massively cheaper but may as well save some money where you can. 

Rooms were quite dated and abit battered on the edges, they looked different to the pictures advertised so that was slightly disappointing but it done us fine and was only really a place to sleep. Unfortunately the pool doesn’t open until 10am! I think this is quite late considering breakfast is from 7:30am. You can’t even go outside until this time. However it is open until 8pm at night. The lifeguard situation is quite dire. One lifeguard was on and off his phone, so I wouldn’t like to need help whilst he was on shift, then complete opposite ends to this was a lifeguard that literally followed us around the pool with the kids, she was nothing short of sitting next to us. We didn’t have any issues getting a bed so that’s a bonus.

Kids club, open twice per day for 2 hours at at time, they offer crafts/games and a mini disco at 9pm every night, it’s the same every night but the kids enjoy it. Good little play park outside of it too and not too far from where the entertainment is. 

On the whole it was a nice holiday, we always try to make the best of anything we do and really is was down to me really to have looked for a better location

Honest family review

Oh my what a awful place to stay. All 11 of us stayed for 10 nights and was totally disappointed.
The room we had on level 1 was dilapidated and dirty. the bathroom had no extractor fan and something splattered up the wall behind the bidet! 3 times l reported it to reception and while the lady was most apologetic, it was never remedied. We only booked  for breakfast( thank God) we lasted 3 days as the repetition  of dire food, dry breads and vile coffee was too much to ingest.
bedding was stained and dusty and the guest bed and furniture was falling to pieces! I do have photos to show!

Its not accessible for disabled people  at all. One lady in our party needed a mobility scooter  and what a terrible discrimination she was put through!

Most of the staff were rude and obnoxious no matter how polite we were!

I noticed that the snack bar was totally understaffed and this may have contributed to the staffs lack of care and politeness. I was so looking forward to staying here but the pictures are not true to description and the whole hotel needs to be updated and better staffed. Also the entertainment every night is in Spanish, which is fine but only accept Spanish bookings then not British.  I would be very interested how it got 4 stars ????

Totally dissatisfied stayed 10 nights and never again! May as well gone fully inclusive at another hotel

Me and a friend came last week, for 4nights. I personally won't be recommending this hotel to anyone, In fact I will tell people to stay clear of it, we where on the 31st floor which was fine nice room, balcony quite small and the light didn't work. We where half board, breakfast there isn't a vast amount of choice to say its a 4* hotel I've had better in lower rating hotels, the juice machines and hot drink machine you can help yourself to. The evening meal again not alot of choice I wouldn't say, also for drinks wise the waiter/waitress come and take your order and you pay when leaving, we ate there 3 out of our 4 nights and it wasn't until the 3rd night we was even offered a drink, the waiter's /waitress 's, did all they could to ignore us and not even look at us. All other tables hadn't even sat down and they where getting offered drinks, it seemed if you wasn't Spanish then you didn't matter. We complained to the gentleman on exiting the restaurant and he just turned his back to us and we also went to reception to complain and he tolk our room number but heard nothing back. 
Reception staff could be quite rude at times when asking them questions. 
The pool was nice didn't spend loads of time there but when we did it was okay. Although there was a bad smell on our last day near the arcades. 
Entertainment we didn't really see any ( our choice) but what we did see it was all aimed at the Spanish. 
Hotel doesn't have alot around, easy enough access to the beach and over an hour walk to the old town. Taxis are just outside of the Hotel and buses just round the corner need a 2 or 3 to the main part of benidorm, quite cheap on the buses especially. 
Upon reading other reviews now, we was unaware you could top up your room key for cheaper drinks and also booking a room for a shower if your flights where later, non of this was told to us, luckily we booked into the spa so got showers there. 
Spa was nice and cheap for an hour. 
When keeping our luggage in the luggage store room, when going to collect a lady had already asked to be let in to get hers and had been waiting awhile so my friend went to ask and they eventually came to let us in. 
Like I said at the beginning I won't be returning or recommending it to anyone.!!!

Not a great hotel!!! Not a 4*

This is our 8th visit to this lovely hotel. Staff are brilliant (even when we overheard them dealing with guest with unrealistic expectations. Very friendly new chap from Cuba checked us in and we had the perfect room for us on 9th floor, smaller tower as we had asked for this prior to our arrival. As usual everything is spotlessly clean and room cleaned daily by very friendly team. We were so impressed by the new decor in the downstairs breakfast/dining area, lovely, cool and contemporary. The location is what also brings us back every year, Benidorm is quite amazing and from this hotel you can dip your toe in as much or little as you wish. Nearby beach in beautifully clean and huge. So much to return for, we are booking again for 2025 this week. Thank you again to all at Gran Bali. See you next year!!
