Pool

It was my first time in Benidorm last week and me and 9 other friends stayed at the Melia hotel. It was like a paradise from the moment you walked in and saw the lovely plant decor and paintings, then you walk out into the pool area which was huge and so relaxing to be around.
 Me and my friends joined in on some of the activities around the hotel during the daytime including learning the Bachata and Salsa with the lovely Eva and Aqua gym with Marcos which we really enjoyed taking part in. They were both so pleasant and full of energy and fun to be around.
 The rooms were very clean, tidy, spacious and had its own balcony overlooking the pool area which looked stunning. 
 Breakfast was included every morning which was buffet style with so much selection and there was also a small shop within the hotel and an arcade which i must come back to use. 
 Also when you step just outside the door you are surrounded by bars and restaurants which were all so brilliant. You have the Red lion right next door and The Sun Terrace which me and my friends especially enjoyed going to in the afternoon/evening. 
 This hotel really helped make my first time in Benidorm memorable and im already looking at returning.

Paradise beyond the strip

We visited the Melia Benidorm that is my husband our 19 year old son and I. We had a Grand Premium Suite and my son had a Melia Room, both had access to The Level. The rooms are great kettle , coffee machine, fridge, mini bar (chargeable). The real bonus is the tapas and premium drinks between 5-7pm and the all day (until 7 pm wine and beer) everyday and the limited snacks crisps Nuts, cakes etc .

The staff at the melia are all fabulous and the staff in the level are amazing and you feel very special

Sunny holiday

We stayed for 1 week on a B&B basis (18th - 25th)
Good news for anyone travelling soon, the renovation work is almost fully completed and caused little disturbance during our stay. The pools were fully open and the water clear. Although at the time of leaving the snack bar remained closed, I'd expect everything to be fully completed very soon.

During our stay, we had no major problems, check-in was quick and the room was cleaned daily.
The pool area is probably one of the best available in Benidorm, plenty of sunbeds and natural shade to get out of the midday sun.

A few very minor areas which would have improved the review.
1) Housekeeping came early (around 8.30am) and knocked even if the "do not disturb" sign was on the door. Personally I find this to be just a bit too early.
2) Breakfast was generally hot with a good selection. It would have been nice to see a bit more variety during the week rather than exactly the same offering every day (mushrooms would have been welcome)
3) With around 23 floors the wait for the lifts was sometimes quite lengthy.
4) The hotel is probably more suitable for the spanish guests. Music around the pool was mostly in spanish and the weekend saw a noticible increase in both spanish families and spansih groups (but hey....you're in Spain!)

The above are just a few monir grumbles and, overall, we had a very enjoyable week's stay at the Melia. There were a few "stag / hen" groups but no more than I would expect to see at many other Benidorm hotels (and they caused no issues or trouble anyway).

Overall, I would recommend a stay at the Melia which will be an even better experience once the renevation works has been fully completed and the pool snack bar re-opened.

Enjoyable stay, renovation work close to completion

Just back from a 2 week stay and after many stays over the years in meliá I can’t see us returning apart from the fact we was staying on a building site for the 2 weeks.  The overall standard of the hotel has dropped we went to dinner first night to be told we couldn’t go because we had already been for lunch (we never do lunch)the cleaner for our room was the rudest person I’ve ever met in Spain in 30years banging on our door every morning to clean it when the do not disturb sign was up.  Went to the level lounge for breakfast once and couldn’t find a clean table so never went back for breakfast, the food at dinner is still the same poor standard.  We are  now home to find a charge to my card (not the first time was once charged £50 for bath robes that wasn’t even in our room when we arrived.  So I  emailed to find out what the charge was for to be told it for a drink at dinner, we didn’t have dinner at the hotel that night as we were in country ribs with friends.

Gone downhill

It was a building site on arrival cemente and creosote used while 
i was in the pool covered in cement dust stones  in the pool (dirty) then told this would be finished 28th yet I have proof still goin on till 2nd  and to be called a lier by the hotel !!!!!!!!!
