Pool

The hotel was well located for beach, town and importantly for us restaurants. The staff were all very friendly and helpful all the time. Rooms were well cared for and comfortable. The nightly entertainment was varied and worth a look. Breakfast was a highlight, good range of foods, plenty of seating and good quality. We would certainly go back.

Service made this superb

We were impressed with the Melia Costa del Sol when we first stayed here 12 years ago. The hotel continues to impress us after our recent stay, especially after their renovations.

Customer Service:
I give a 5/5 for customer service. From the first time we made contact with the hotel staff via email before our trip to the time we checked out, we were always treated well by every staff member – the reception/front desk, the buffet restaurant staff, the beach bar staff, the Level reception and servers, and the cleaning staff. Everyone in these departments were happy to see you and serve you, and they are very patient and dedicated. They were all efficient and helpful. They also appreciate it when you try to speak Spanish. Everyone works really hard and seem to enjoy their job.

Room:
About our 9th floor Level Sea View room:
Room and balcony were extremely neat and clean, newly renovated, ample storage space. Temp control excellent, room always nice and cool. Loved the walk-in shower. The bathroom amenities smelled amazing (the hotel uses the Ritual brand). 	Bathroom was large – only “criticism” is that no facial tissues, shower cap, or items like an emery board were provided (but we understand the hotel aims to be sustainable). Bed comfortable (more on the harder side), great variety of pillows. A kettle, espresso machine, and coffee/tea/milk powder were included in our room. Soundproofing was good, though we could our neighbours kept slamming their balcony door.

Half Board:
There’s board outside the buffet entrance to tell you the times when the restaurant is most busy.
The buffet got really crowded by 8:30AM, and there are always queue to get food. Great variety of food and juices served every morning – oatmeal, breads, cold cuts, eggs, churros and chocolate, sausages, pancakes and waffles. At dinner it gets busy around 7:30 but usually clears by 8:30 – we opted to eat dinner around 8. Despite it being crowded, we never had to wait to be seated. The food was always replenished quickly. There were different meats, fish, seafood and veggies served every night (rotating every 6-7 days), and desserts differed every night as well. They also offered cold cuts, salads, pasta, fries, paella, and hot soup.
One observation is that we didn’t notice anyone ordering tap water during dinner – everyone always seemed to have to purchase a drink with dinner. A bottle of water is about 2,90 euro during our stay. Note that the buffet can get even more crowded when the tour groups arrive for dinner. Worth opting for the half board!

The Level:
The Level lounge is lovely - bright, airy, cool, and welcoming! There’s always snacks (cookies, candies, nuts, fruit) available for consumption at the lounge. Really relaxing to have our own little spot to get away from all the crowds. In terms of drinks: the lounge has a self-serve coffee machine (where you can make iced coffee too!), different kinds of sodas, fruit water and ice water (this water you can fill in your reusable water bottle and take with you!), and between 7-9pm you can get alcohol with your tapas.
We enjoyed having breakfast here a few mornings when we didn’t want to face the crowds at the downstairs buffet, and the hot and cold food offerings were almost the same as the offerings downstairs (and there’s less of a lineup for the toaster).

Great location! The beach is right across the street. Hotel is a short walk to the lift/elevator that goes up the centre of Torremolinos, where other cafes and supermarkets are located.

Tips:
- Check your final bill 1-2 days before checking out, in case you get overcharged. We had someone else’s drinks charged to our room and were refunded after we raised the issue – the staff handled the situation in a very positive and professional manner.
- Sign up to become a Melia Rewards member - you can use your points towards beverage purchases at the hotel.

Great Service, Enjoyable Stay

We booked a Double Deluxe sea view room. On arrival they gave us a lateral room. I pointed out we have paid extra for a sea view. The rude receptionist would not listen even though our hotel voucher said sea view not side or lateral as the hotel describes them. We went to our room and was horrified to find when we opened the curtains a rock face!! If you stood in the far corner of the room or lent over the balcony you could glimps the sea. I went to Reception and the same rude receptionist said the hotel was full and we could not move. I rang Hayes travel in Chester and they said now we are in resort they can't help and speak to the rep. We spoke to the rep and he said he had brought this problem up before regarding lateral rooms. Late on Monday evening a Guest Services lady came to the room and said we could pay and upgrade or stay where we were looking at a rock face. We were told to go to reception next day to see if they had a better room, it was all left to us. Next day I asked at reception, still rude and unhelpful. They said come back after 12. I went back after 12 and saw Victoria, what a difference, lovely lady. She said she would check what they had, show me and decide from there. I was shown room 1568 on the 5th floor. The room still had a side view but was slightly bigger and better and we would of had to pay to extra to upgrade. The room is OK, newly painted and smells as if it was. It had obviously been under repair, drain cover off left unfinished. We have just spoken to two ladies leaving today who arrived Sunday. They booked a double side sea view. At check in they were given a Deluxe Double Sea View Room 1667, they didn't ask they were just given it. Full front view on a corner, she showed us, beautiful. I asked receptionist how can this be? They were not interested. Won't bother coming here again, hotel shabby. Pool opens doors 9am so no idiots putting towels out at 5am but there is a queue at 9am, beware of the crush. Breakfast very busy, big hotel so queues for cooked food. Staff in restaurant lovely, smartly turned out and helpful. The American coffee was amazing, a real coffee pot and a full pot of hot milk and not a dreadful machine.

"Rocky' start to holiday

We visited this Hotel several times previously but not since it was updated. Decided to return to celebrate my 60th birthday and treated ourselves to the level junior suite. I asked for a room on a higher floor and with some sun on the balcony and on arrival was delighted to be allocated a room on the 7th floor. 
The hotel is brilliantly situated in front of the sea with easy access to bars restaurants train station for trips to Malaga and Fuengirola and walking for miles along the coast.
The hotel is far superior to what it previously was with the rooftop pools and level lounge. The Level is a fantastic area, very relaxing, quiet, no problem getting a sun lounger. The breakfast here was lovely good choice, eggs cooked to order and tables outdoors to enjoy the sunshine. Drinks were perfectly adequate for our purposes as don’t want to drink alcohol all day but took advantage of the evening drinks and snacks and really enjoyed these.
Our room was sparkling clean and very comfortable. Staff throughout were incredibly professional, friendly and efficient particularly Jazmin at the level who was outstanding. 
I have nothing negative to say about the whole holiday and very much looking forward to returning to this special place. Having experienced the Level twice now here and last year in Palma we would never go standard again.

Fabulous Birthday visit

We stayed in a Level room on the 9th floor. Room was large, airy, lovely big bed, balcony looking directly out to sea, and a spacious bathroom with a great walk in shower. There's a large wall mounted TV but no UK channels even though one of the TVs in the Level loungealwatmys had BBC1 showing on it. UK channels in the room would be good as not everyone wants to be out late in the evening. The Level lounge is very calm, peaceful and staffed by some lovely people who never stop cleaning and checking that food and beverages are well stocked. Breakfast is great - coffee, cereals, yoghurts, breads, toast, eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, beans, pastries, churros, cold meats and cheeses. There's also unlimited help yourself cans of soft drinks, Cava, red and white wine, and iced water from 8am until the lounge shuts in the evening (about 10.40). Between 7pm and 9pm spirits and liquers are added as well as a selection of hot and cold tapas. The Level rooftop pool area is peaceful and we could always fetch a sun lounger, no mad scrum here! Yes, the Level is expensive but we thought it well worth it for the stress free week we had there and the inclusive drinks. Eva, the hostess there is lovely and so helpful. Will definitely consider another Melia hotel using the Level when next in Spain.

Well worth staying in a Level room

This hotel is strategically situated in Torremolinos in the heart of the Costa del Sol, facing the beautiful sandy beach. Various excellent golf courses are within easy reach, and the centre of Malaga with its shopping facilities and business offices is only 12 km away. In the surroundings, there are many restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. The international airport is a few minutes ride away. Business guests will appreciate the venues the property offers to host business meetings, conferences and other private events for up to 600 people. The outdoor swimming pool area is perfect to sunbathe or have a relaxing swim. The elegant rooms are decorated with light colours and are equipped with all the essential needs for a wonderful stay. After a long working day, guests can exercise in the mini gym, or be pampered in the top-notch 350m² Thalasso Spa with a heated seawater pool, Turkish bath and sauna. At the Rooftop Sky & Sea (adults only) guests can enjoy the panoramic views over the Mediterranean, take a bath in the pool and have a cocktail at the bar. Customers who want "something more" can opt for The Level rooms (adults only) with exclusive access to the Rooftop The Level Lounge, with terrace, pool, relax area and drinks with snacks. An incredible hotel for business travelers in a magnificent and relaxing environment.
