Pool

If I said that I was disappointed in the hotel, that would be an understatement. I really am not usually one for leaving reviews, especially as I know with high customer turnover it can be difficult however, this hotel really is not a 4star, and I would not recommend to anyone. 

I’ll start with the good bits as want to give an honest review:
We had a good holiday - it was what we made it, a relaxing break located right on the beach front (however beds are not included with all inclusive stay and you had to pay for these so we did not use the beach other than for walks). 
There are local shops, restaurants, bars and shopping centre located very nearby and we made use of the electric scooters to travel further along the coast which was a beautiful experience. 
Never struggled to get a sunny spot by the pool - the pool is cold and salt water but we didn’t mind this. It was refreshing. We also had a really nice time in the spa - an hour massage and use of the warm indoor pool. We managed to get a good deal on this. The alcohol is not cheap and beer on tap which was great for my other half. Along with fizzy drinks and water also on a self serve basis. We missed the entertainment the first night but is located outside, and was not that great. One singer a night, with repeated songs. Again this was what we made it. We had drinks and had a laugh with other guests. 

Bad points:
The food really was the lowest quality. And this has been what has put us off the most. Dishes were extremely random, not thought out and not hot. One example of this was green beans with hard boiled eggs chopped up on top and onions. (None of these go together - I have no idea who thought that was a good idea?!) certainly is not typical of any Spanish cuisine. 
My partner eats meat and was disappointed every day. Chicken looked undercooked, beef dry, and far too many fish options each day - this could have been replaced with one or two fish options and the rest good quality meat. I am vegetarian and whilst the salad selection was varied and breakfast there were lots of fruit and yogurt available- vegetarians certainly had not been thought about. There were two dishes suitable out of a 7 night stay if I wanted to eat something other than leaves or rice. Bacon at breakfast was of the poorest quality, and staff were rude - ignoring my partner completely one day when requesting an omelette at the omelette station. Juice station at breakfast and meal times are all very watered down. Glasses were rarely available for drinks meaning we had to use plastic cups. Who wants a beer out of a plastic cup at a meal? I can however, understand the no glass rule for the pool.  Pizzas available at the pool bar but not included in all inclusive. Poor snacks available at the pool bar (only some pastries and some salty crisps, and small tubs of icecream). Other ice-cream available but again not included in the all inclusive. “Paninis” at lunch time were left over burger buns from the day before with tomato and cheese on - or garlic spread for garlic bread. 

The hotel lacks any atmosphere. Staff were mainly rude, apart from life guards at the pool and a couple of bar staff. A lot of the hotel is dark, for example no lights in the reception or hallways meaning in the evenings it is quite dark. Will also mention that the air con is not the best, with the lowest temperature possible 22 degrees. However we did manage. There are a few water features located around the hotel but none of these were on - again just adding to the hotel’s lack of atmosphere or “character”.  I think these things would not have mattered to us as much had the food been better quality but unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel or any other Euro stars and certainly will not be returning.
 A shame as the location is lovely.

Disappointed is an understatement.

The food was pretty good throughout with some of the meals being very good indeed. The chefs really tried hard to provide some excellent choices.
All the staff were great, being very friendly and always happy to help.
The room was very comfortable, clean and well supported by the housekeeping staff. The hotel is within easy walking distance of a number of other food and drink outlets.
The main reception and the public areas are starting to look quite dated and 'tired' which did not detract from the stay, but I would not wish to pay more for these facilities.  The pools are great, but although reserving sun loungers is against the rules a number of guests still did so.  That said we could always get a chair, but often not where we wanted it due to the rudeness of others. This problem needs more enforcement.
Previous reviews mentioned the queue at the bar which is still apparent.  More annoying than limiting, but still an issue.

Lots of positives during our stay

Unfortunately our room was only cleaned 2/5 nights! We had to request fresh towels everyday! Our bedding wasn't changed for the duration of our stay.  Rooms and balcony are a nice size.  You do get a kettle but no tea coffee or milk, which is a shame.  Generally lacking details which make a difference.  

Disappointing 

3 star hotel in a 5 star location this is my 3rd stay here and have one more booked for later this year but I think this will be my last, the food is OK and warn enough a bit repetitive, I stayed in superior junior suite with seaview I love the room but it's needing a freshen up they're very spacious the room service on this visit is a bit of a let down been here 9 days and the bedlinen hasn't been changed after the maid has been you can still find dirt on the the floor it's not a big issue the entertainment so poor and doesn't have a proper area to hold it the bar I was in once and people were just sitting in rows they certainly could do better here the staff are great and it's a shame that the hotel doesn't reflect that this hotel could be so much better

3  star hotel in a 5 star location

We have been coming to Fuerteventura for over 30 years!   4/5 time a year do no stranger! walked by this hotel as I thought concrete eye soar ! And always walked by! I should have listened to my gut! And not booked.
I booked for my hubbys special birthday, was in Fuerty in March and popped in to say we had booked a superior room facing the sea could we have a top floor, when we arrived there was one on the desk and we were in a line of people waiting, we were late as we had a flight delay!
Got our room did say to the guy on the desk we asked for a top floor which we never got! No welcome drinks or bottle of bubbly for the special birthday!  Not like other hotels in the area always make a fuss!!
Room had a great balcony! Had beach view , as for as the  room decor very dated! Bedroom was a great size and a nice full size light up pic behind the bed, bed very large and comfortable.
5 coat hangers between two people to hang our clothes, went to reception she gave me one!
Waited another day so I could not unpack! Then eventually got 8 hangers!!
Air con does not give you cold air!
Kitchen we never used, no complimentary coffee, tea, milk etc!
Bathroom we had a glass double sink with a massive crack in the sink! Pipe work on show just filthy!!!
Rooms cleaned very quickly and not great!
Hotel has no atmosphere at all, no lights on during the day!!!
Lots of broken floor tiles, very dirty indeed.
One bar inside hotel!!
One barman serving the whole hotel!!
Must say that guy worked extremely hard 👏👏👏👏
If you were sitting downstairs, you would have to go to one floor up to the pool bar to get a drink! Again one person serving, just not acceptable!!!
The main bar should’ve been opened all day for guests.
Food, was very poor!! Cold and also same choice every day! 
Fruit was sitting on high rise plates and not on a cold surface, also cold meats.
 lack of glasses for self service area for an alcoholic drink or juice, with your food!
Pool bar for snacks! Which were terrible, just a trolly with 4 trays and the chef just tops up the trays that have been sitting for hours and puts the fresh food on top!!!
Needs re trained!!!!
We stayed in Barcelo Mar in January same 4 stars!!! But no comparison what so ever!!
If you want a 4 star stay Barcelo mar is the best!!!
How this hotel had a 4star rating is beyond me! I would give it 2 stars and that’s for location only!
I never do a review, but this was a must!
We complained to @jet2 in the hotel and we are still awaiting a response!!!!
DO  NOT STAY at this hotel unless you are wanting to be miserable & depressed !!
Because that is what you will get that’s for sure!!!!
You will need another holiday after it!!
