Wow!!! We had the most amazing relaxed 6 nights here in may! The rooms are spacious the beds are massive and comfy! We were greeted on the first night as we got there late to a bottle of bubbly, a plate of fruit and some food plated up for us, chocolates left on the bed! 
It was dark when we arrived but could see we were over the pool areas. 
We woke up and again wow!!!!! Sea view was amazing!! 
We had meals in the Adults only part and in the main buffet in the hotel. We liked the restaurant in the royal level but felt the main buffet had more choice for us. 
As royal level guests we were waited on hand and foot! Every time you went to a bar or restaurant drinks were brought to you. The fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast was amazing!!!
The cleaners came in every morning and every evening with fresh towels and water and again on the night left chocolates on the pillow. 
The views to the sea from this hotel are outstanding! 
Cocktails made at the bar by the pool were fantastic! Try the pina colada!!!
The staff around the whole complex were so friendly and approachable. 
So sad to have left our time away here but it won’t be the last!!!

Fantastic stay!!

This was our third trip to the Occidental Jandia Playa and it was fabulous. We never thought we would be those people who keep going back to the same hotel every year but this is a gem - the adults only area adjoined to the larger family hotel is like an oasis of calm - the pool area always has plenty of sun beds - some people like to get up to reserve early but there is no need as at any point you can find a couple. The service and cleanliness of the whole hotel is immaculate and the food and drinks is excellent. This has been our third trip and the standards haven’t dropped. If there was one area to improve its the Wi-Fi - in the room it’s fine but around the pool it is variable - however staying off your phone isn’t a bad thing for your well-being! 

Third holiday at Occidental Jandia Royal Level

We have just returned home after a  great 7 night stay. We booked directly with the hotel and it was our 8th visit.
On arrival we were greeted by the friendly face of Marianna who remembered us from previous visits, and she had been able to allocate us a room with a great view and quiet area.
Since our last visit the rooms have been given a refresh with lighter furniture and window dressing, this gives it a brighter feel. 
The adults only restaurant has also been extended and that makes it a more pleasing environment, we ate there for all our meals, and the food has definitely improved since previous trips. The feedback I would give in that area is that sometimes you are sat waiting a while before drinks order taken, it would be good to be seated by a member of staff and drinks order taken on arrival, also when experienced staff were on who we have met before they were so organised and you definitely got your order taken immediately, so maybe it's a training area for new staff. 
On asking if there was a gluten free bread option it was lovely to be presented with warm gluten free rolls, specially baked, so Thankyou for that.
Wine was excellent as before, and there food choice was good, we are non fish eaters,  but found enough choice each meal. One area spotted was cross contamination on grill in the morning, having specific allergies this is something that just needs a little bit of care. 
The green bar again was good, this area has been extended and the live music/singer added a bit of a change.
The only negative is that the WiFi signal is non existent, which is not something you expect for such a large hotel, it didn’t affect us as we used data, but it’s something that needs sorting.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, and hope to return soon.

Great Holiday

My wife and I are still here enjoying our last few days of sunshine, but this has been by far been our best holiday!
From the moment we arrived, we both knew we would come back in 2025. 
When we arrived, we quickly spotted the “Royal Level” reception, where there was a more personal, relaxed check in experience, with comfy sofas/chairs and a guest experience manager who got to know us both on a personal level- explaining about the hotel, surrounding areas and benefits as a Royal Level guest 
The room itself wasn’t ready on arrival, but that was expected given our early flight time from the UK, but this wasn’t a problem as we were able to go for lunch straight away. As a Royal Level guest, we have exclusive access to the Atlantico restaurant and bar just for us (and it’s adults only!) meaning there is a more relaxed and slower paced dining experience than in the main buffet restaurant (which we went to once and left quickly because it was very noisy, overcrowded and food wasn’t as good quality) the food in the Royal Level Atlantico was super! Not a large choice, but what was on offer was always fresh, hot and more readily available. There is also a meat/fish grill where the chef will cook as much/little as you like to your preference. 
As Royal Level guests, you also have access to another restaurant in the evening, serving a different theme for each night. This is A La Carte, so is nice to sit down to a relaxing meal which is served to you. There is a lot of reviews saying how hard it is to get booked into these restaurants- but download the “MyBarcelo” app and everything becomes so much easier and all the drinks/food menus are there to be viewed and restaurants can be booked in advance before. We tried the Asian, Canarian, Italian, Greek and Tex Mex- all were extremely good and portion sizes were unexpectedly large. 
As for the bars, we were shocked to find that at the Atlantico pool bar, they only serve premium spirits and beers (Heineken, Cruzcampo, Sol etc) which we have definitely took advantage of throughout our holiday. All of the soft drinks are also branded and from glass bottles rather than a pump. Pablo on the bar was brilliant, remembered our favourite drinks and would recommend different drinks to us to try. Please make sure our thanks to him are passed on as he fully deserves it. The Bar Verde in the evening was also very peaceful and calm, José was very entertaining too and suggested drinks for us to try. It did make us laugh though how all the tables in the bar are set out with 3 chairs around them in a predominantly couples resort! 
Around the pool was very calm and quiet, there are plenty of sun loungers available throughout the day- so no normal holiday worries of people rushing to get their towels down in the early hours. (Towels by the way are included for free in Royal Level and waiting in the room on arrival and can be changed as frequently as you like) 
The pools area is kept clean and immaculate, and for some reason, there is a lifeguard on duty- but he helps to hand out the towels. 
The rooms are very cleans, come with dressing gowns and slippers and are serviced daily by the housekeeping team and are then again turned down and towels replaced again in the evening whilst you are out. On my birthday, a bottle of Prosecco, a card and a small hotel key ring were left in the room which was a lovely gesture. 
The minibar stocked on arrival was a nice touch and water within the room is replenished throughout the stay. The only thing that could be better would be restocking these every now and then. You can pay €20 for this, but all the drinks that come in them are included in the all inclusive package so there wouldn’t be any additional cost to the hotel, but would be nice to sometimes have a drink whilst getting ready in the evening. 
2 hours use of the Spa daily is included free for Royal Level guests, this does have to be booked in advance ,however, this was another nice perk to help unwind and relax. We booked to go a couple times when it was cloudier in the mornings and it wasn’t very busy at all. 
At the bottom of the hotel complex, there are a few shops including a SPAR if there are any additional sunscreams/toiletries etc that you might need to buy whilst out here (very reasonably priced too, unlike some countries)
The only negative about the hotel, like many of the other reviews, is the WiFi which is easy to connect to, but the connection is weak and not really suitable for anything and connection drops very quickly. 
All in all, this has been one of the best adult only resorts we have ever stayed in and would advise any couples who are looking to book the Occidental Jandía Playa to upgrade to Royal Level. We very much look forward to our return in June 2025!

Well worth a visit!

We had the most amazing time staying here.
Two ladies in  Delux Sea View room, absolutely beautiful view.
Nothing was too much trouble & we are so looking forward to returning.
The staff were fantastic & both the meals & beverages excellent. Always a choice of something you'd like.
Sun loungers always available so no reservations needed, thank goodness.
Rooms spotless as are communal areas.
Its a bit of a walk to the beach but worth it.
