Pool

We have just returned from weeks stay at this hotel, while we mostly enjoyed our stay the hotel we would not return as it is just not for us. This is our opinion on our stay.

Rooms
On first appearance you can tell that the hotel has recently been refurbished as everything looked new. The room we stayed in, a superior twin room in block seven was a good size with everything you would need. We are not ones for staying in our room much and only return to get changed and sleep so was fine. Now here is the first of my complaints, the cleaning was virtually non existent. The day after we arrived while looking for something I had misplaced I noticed some bits of rubbish under the bed, these were still there on the day we left. There were cup rings on the surfaces which remained all week. During our stay I broke a glass. I cleared up as best I could leaving the broken glass on the side as I didn’t want to put it in the bin and risk cutting the cleaner, obviously the cleaners would have been aware of the glass being broken yet we were still picking bits of glass from the floor for the remainder of our stay. The balcony as far as I could tell was never swept or mopped. One day I returned to our room after breakfast to get changed for the pool, on leaving the room I removed the do not disturb sign from the door and said the the cleaner who was cleaning the next room that it was OK to clean our room to which she replied it was not possible as we had missed our slot.

Restaurant

I have seen a lot of reviews that the food is the best that people have experienced on an all-inclusive holiday which it may well be true for some but from our personal experience of four-star all-inclusive hotels it definitely was not. That said the food was of a good standard and most people will find something that they like although it will most likely be stone cold. Biggest problem with the dinning room is that it resembles a school dinning room, young children run about everywhere without a parent in sight. The parents allow the children to help themselves which results in food being spilt everywhere, on several occasions I witnessed children picking food up with their hands then putting it back and licking serving spoons.

Outdoor Areas

In general, the outdoor areas and pools are very good, clean and well looked after. I am an early riser and every morning I would see an army of cleaner cleaning everything from sun beds to tables even moping the entire floor. I will however say that the state of the area before they started in the mornings was shocking, beakers, cans, food leftovers and God knows what else left by guests the previous evening. The one thing that lets the hotel down in this area is the refusal of the lifeguards or staff to control a small minority of children who run around and insist on jumping into an already packed infinity pool even though this is supposedly banned. It will only be a matter of time before someone is injured. I have seen a lot of talk about people reserving sun beds, when we stayed the hotel apparently only had three empty rooms although it was never an issue getting a sun bed. Yes, some people would reserve beds early doors by the pool so that they could keep an eye on their children. My advice would be if you want a certain bed get up early, from what I saw no matter how late you come back nothing will have been moved.

In General

While as I have said in general the hotel is of good standard I fail to see why the reviews are as high as they are. The only conclusion I can arrive at is that as the hotel has just opened prices were kept artificially low which in turn attracted clientele that would normally have booked a lower hotel and therefore have a lower expectation. I note that next year's prices are considerably higher which in turn will attract a guest with higher expectations I feel you will begin to see more accurate reviews. In my opinion this hotel could be so much better if it would only enforce its own rules for the good of everyone. One problem that they need to get on top of quickly is smoking and vaping. Guests see no problem smoking round the pools, in the bars, on the terraces and balcony’s, I even noticed a couple of people vaping in the restaurant.

Mixed Feelings.

Stayed here from the 15th -22nd June check in was pretty straight forward yet we paid for a upgrade with jet2 but didn't get it a little difficult to find your room with so many different lifts to use to get to your room, rooms are large with two separate rooms both with tvs ,comfy beds house keeping wasn't the best as they missed our room out the one day most staff friendly from reception, bar staff cleaning staff and even the chefs in the restaurant. The food is outstanding and loads of choices from pasta stations, stir fries of different flavours pizza and steaks and chicken fruit and a mr whippy machine and a chocolate fountain every night great pools two large pools at the top floor of the hotel and infinity poolnext level down and two adults only pools one on the lower floor and a roof top one all with self service stations hotel as been refurbished to a high standard plenty of in door seating and out door seating plenty of sunbeds the entertainment is not the best the biggest let down fo us was all inclusive which it's not you had to pay for loads of the branded drinks and cocktails plus take your own cups as the serve drinks in really small cups overall had a good holiday but could of been great with better quality drinks you didn't have to pay for and better entertainment.

Couples holiday

We stayed here from the 24th- 28th June and honestly there isn’t really anything bad to say about this hotel! What you get for the price is well worth it and more.

Check in was very straight forward and we found the receptionist to be very helpful. We had an early flight so arrived at around 1pm, check in wasn’t until 3pm which was a bit of a shame but honestly we weren’t that bothered, the receptionist (sorry I can’t remember her name) was great, she explained that we could leave our suitcase in the luggage room and then make the most of the hotel until the room was ready, this was the perfect opportunity to go and get some lunch and get a drink.

Once the room was ready we were told what lift we needed (there’s quite a few different ones) what number to press in the lift and what room number we were in. This might seem daft that we had to be told this in such detail but honestly the numbering etc was a little confusing and I suppose just not what we’re used to at other hotels but we managed just fine and you soon get used to it.

We had a deluxe room that had a lovely balcony with a day bed like sofa and table and chairs, we had the sun in the afternoon/ early evening which was perfect for us. The room was modern and clean. The double bed is 2 twins pushed together but we were happy to make do for the 4 nights we were there. We did have a smart tv in the room along with a coffee machine which was a nice touch.

The food was fabulous, they had anything and everything, we really enjoyed the pasta and pizza stations which had different options each night and you honestly are spoilt for choice so you never get bored eating the same thing every day. Mr whippy machine and dessert station with all the sauces and toppings was certainly my favourite part of the day!! 

Theres drink stations dotted around the hotel which had a selection of fizzy pop, beer and I think wine which was great. No huge queues or waiting around for someone to take a drinks order just get up and help yourself. We only used the main bar where the sunset terrace is for alcoholic drinks but again we didn’t wait very long and the bartenders were very efficient we were pleasantly surprised to see the vodka was Smirnoff but can’t say we sampled a lot of the other drinks. One thing to mention is the the cocktails aren’t very strong but again this didn’t really effect us as we stuck to spirits.

The entertainment was okay, the last 2 nights we did choose to sit and watch the shows which were really good (summer nights show and the kings jester show) and the nights the entertainment wasn’t so good we headed back to the room slightly earlier. Due to it being a family hotel the entertainment is very family friendly so I’d probably keep this in mind.

The spar shop on site is a great touch and really convenient.

There’s plenty of sun beds and your never stuck for somewhere to sit, we regularly came down about 10 o’clock and never struggled to find decent sun beds, we opted to sit by the infinity pool for the first few days as it was a bit more chilled out than the main pools, the adults only pools were always full so if you want to sit in that section maybe get down a little earlier than we did but overall we were quite happy where to infinity pool was.

I really can’t complain about the hotel, it’s in a stunning location, the food is great and the service by all was really good and very friendly. We would definitely come back and stay longer so we could venture out and have a go at the excursions.

Super hotel!

The hotel as a whole is very nice, especially the adults only area (no rush to get the sunbeds). However, food was very repetitive and mediocre, breakfast was the best. Drinks on the all inclusive are very good. The size of the pool is simply not big enough for the amount of people staying there. No chance of a lie in, they come to clean your room at 9, also don’t change the sheets often, we had the same blood stain for multiple days (1st day-13th day). A few things went missing from the room, the hotel obviously didn’t know anything about it and wasn’t much help. 
But the restaurant/bar staff are lovely and the location is good- prepare for lots of stairs and hills.

What an amazing hotel, very friendly staff, as it’s just been refurbed it’s clean and tidy, we had a fabulous holiday! Evening entertainment was good and the food was plentiful and a good choice for all. Will be back, keep up the great standards!!
