This was my first time going on holiday solo and the team at Paradisus made me feel completely welcomed. Carla at Gastro & Robert at The Shack get a special mention for being very kind to me. The facilities are exquisite, the hotel is extremely clean which as someone who works in Building Management is not lost on me, the food is fantastic and the staff are very friendly. I'd recommend this hotel to everyone, if you're going with friends, a partner, with family or by yourself this hotel has somethimg to offer for all. I enjoyed it so much i'm considering going back in September!

I am not sure if I will be able to find proper words to describe our time we spent in Paradisus by Melia Gran Canaria. But lets try :-) 

First of all, I would like to thank all staff who were always kind, friendly, helpful and very professional during our vacation. They always greet us with smiling faces, they all were so eager to do  their job in the best way which made us feel home. I would like to highlight especially some staff names here: "Jony" at the Reserve Pool definately made our vacation so much fun. He is such a great person with lots of joy and amazing service. "Brendon" at Ginger Grand Cafe & Lobby Bar was such an elegant, kind and hard working person. He was always so kind and fast, and we really like a lot to communicate with him. They both definately know what they are doing and the hotel is so lucky since they have these 2 guys. 

In general hotel was extremely clean and it's boho style decoration was very top notch and eye-catching. 
We stayed in special zone called as  "The Reserve" by paying bit extra, and each penny totally worth it. The rooms were spacious, well decorated and cleaned on daily basis. 

The pools were big, fresh and well taken care. We really enjoy our time at "The Reserve" pool area. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

There were so many restaurant and cafe options we really enjoyed all of them, cos of both food and staff. Especially the Lemon Fish Nikkei Sky Bar was distinguish. We were extremely impressed with the talent of "Chef Alicia" and her creativity, and the waiter "Miguel"...That was definately an unforgettable night with good food, good atmoshpere and good live music. 

Hotel was close to the beach and sea, and you can reach to the maspalomas dunes by walking for 40 mins through the nice beach way. Reaching city center takes approx. 10 mins by taxi. 

One day we have joined rom distillery trip arranged by hotel and we enjoyed it a lot. We highly recommend you to join "Arehucas" rom distillery trip, since they have very good products, together with a long history. 

And another thing I was very impressed was: The guest profile of this hotel was unbelivable. Especially in "The Reserve" area, we met with lots of amazing people from all over the world and we still continue our communication with them since we planning to meet with them again. 

As a final: We are a real globe trotters who travel almost 4-5 countries per year, trust me; this hotel is really amazing and you can go there without any hesitation. Before I go I read some negative comments about staff or hotel, but none of them was reflecting the truth. You know; there are always unhappy people reflecting their own unhappiness to everything around, right? :-)

Again, thanks Paradisus by Melia Gran Canaria for a relaxing and unforgettable vacation. We will definately visit you again. Until then, take care of your lovely staff and keep up good work! :-)

A real paradise should be added into life memories...

We were super excited to stay here, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. While the hotel interior and rooms were stylish, we faced significant service issues that impacted our overall experience and did not reflect a 5-star standard.

From the 1+ hour wait to check-in to waiting over 20 minutes each drink order, the service was consistently lacking. We experienced food orders that never arrived, some cold food when they did, and waiters who frequently forgot our drink orders. It was a frustrating week. 

Despite the hotel being at 50% capacity, the staff appeared overwhelmed. While the staff we interacted with were clearly super busy, it became tiring constantly having to wait around.

We paid for The Reserve, which included access to a private pool and lounge. Unfortunately, even here, service was lacking. We would recommend just serving yourself here because the waitress frequently forgot our drink orders and often nowhere to be found. The food here also really needs covers, it is left out most of the day and covered in flys. 

We raised our concerns with the hotel leadership on the second day, hoping for improvement. Despite assurances that the issues were noted, the problems persisted throughout our stay. This lack of responsiveness left us very disappointed, and we had quickly accepted that nothing was going to change and had to adapt our holiday to suit the hotel's inefficiencies. We opted for late dinners to avoid busy times and still spent considerable time trying to place orders and waiting, which became tiring. We ended up avoiding any type of table service as basic things, like clearing plates or refilling water, were never fulfilled.

We did have one evening of excellent service at Peseta… this was frustrating to see as the rest of the hotel experience should have been similar. Food throughout the hotel quickly became very boring with the same things being served each day. 

Overall, for a hotel advertised as 5-star, the quality of service was well below expectations. If you are looking for 5-star service, lower your expectations to avoid being disappointed like we were. Whilst I hope this was a one off experience, or perhaps this is just Spanish service, it really impacted our holiday and would probably not be booking a Mélia property again.

Arrived excited, left disappointed - not 5* unfortunately

A wonderful holiday from start to finish! We went from 19th - 29th June. Loved the room, it is beautiful and  clean and has lots of lovely touches such as the shampoo and conditioner and chocolates on the bed in the evening. We really enjoyed the food and drink from all the restaurants. The sangria from Kanna is amazing! The food is Paseta was very delicious!. All the staff are friendly and helpful and nothing appears too much trouble.  Beautiful sunny weather to enjoy the pools! The yoga and meditation classes were also fantastic - Isabel is a knowledgeable and kind teacher.

Beautiful holiday

Stayed for a week in a Reserve room and had a wonderful time. 

A particular highlight was the fantastic dinner at Peseta, which was beyond delicious: unexpected and inventive, with everything cooked to perfection. In particular, the use of local ingredients and flavours was wonderful. A must try!

Great stay and special mention for a fantastic meal at Peseta

Situated right in front of the spectacular San Agustín beach and very close to the Playa del Inglés beach and the shopping centre, this luxurious hotel is the best option to stay on the island. Thanks to its excellent location in one of the main tourist resorts in Gran Canaria, its complete and comfortable facilities and the quality of its services will make each stay unforgettable. The airport can be reached within a 20-minute car ride. The rooms are equipped with cosy beds and the needed amenities to please all types of guests. The property offers activities to be entertained and have a fun holiday. Business travellers might use the function rooms and then relax at the spa. Families will also enjoy a children's playground and the outdoor pool area.
