Hotel Marina Luz

The staff at the hotel are excellent, the interior design is modern and really suited us. 
It is very close to the airport so there is a lot of plane traffic, but that didn’t take away from our stay, it may however affect others differently. 

Great hotel with excellent service

On paper, there is a lot  to like about this hotel. It is on the sea front. With a pool and a good bus to Palma but I struggled with it. The rooms walls are very thin. You could hear everything. Including someone moving furniture around at 7.30 above us. The music entertainment continued to 11 every night we were there so between the two of these things we had to sleep with ear plugs. The wifi wasn't great at all either. We enjoyed having a bali bed outside our room and I would recommend paying for that. It meant when the pool area was full you could spend your day there and take the steps down to the pool. The pool is only open from 10-6 which if you like any early swim before breakfast then you will be disappointed. The food was really tasty but I didn't have a great experience as I have a couple of intolerances and these look like they are marked but often the details are not with the right dish. Which leaves a bit of a puzzle for dinner! I was lucky that I didn't have allergies as some food didn't have the information marked and some had the wrong information. On our first night there, the waiter kept pushing us to try a bottle of sangria rather than a homemade one. It felt very strong so we ended up agreeing. It turned out to be much more expensive for less. Palma is lovely and I would recommend it. It also had fablous vegan and veggie resturants and we took advantage of that on our stay. To get to Palma walking and taking the bus from near the hotel takes around 45 minutes but the bus goes every 10 to 15 minutes. 

I wanted to like it more.

2 excellent weeks at this hotel. Food good. Sky pool on the roof good. Bali beds very comfy. Staff were excellent. My wife is disabled, and she felt at ease here. An excellent promenade takes you to Palma on one side and S'Arnell on the other.

Did not fulfil our expectations

…hotels cannot simply give us 2x twin rooms despite requesting this at booking and with further messages. We were 4 male family members, none of us want to share a bed! Make every room able to be split into twins. Ridiculous. Plus the aircon didn’t work and despite asking it to be fixed they came and said “it’s now at 17 degrees, when it doesn’t go lower than 18 and it was stuck on 23 in any case” they also got our rooms mixed up on the first day. Other than that staff friendly, breakfast and bar food, pool nice.

Nice pool, average rooms, good breakfast but will never understand why…
