The hotel is far from 4 stars! It is definitely 3! At the 4-star hotel, you will find a robe, slippers, a full, not empty refrigerator and a filter for coffee/tea. The appearance of the hall, the rooms and the skinned elevator leaves a lot to be desired, it is a dirty old thing, with a bad smell in the hallways and in the rooms that require urgent reconditioning! Apart from the tasty food and kind staff, I can't find anything worth appreciating at this hotel. I took the room with a view to the sea, but they only have a SIDE view to the sea....

The hotel is far away from 4 stars!

Excellent hotel. We stayed for 10 nights here (family of 6 all over 24) and loved every second of it. Staff were incredible especially the entertainment team. Luna and Javi (I think that’s his name, small lad from saville) were brilliant and made all the activities fun. I would 100% recommend taking part in the activities as they’re for all ages and are great to break the day up etc.

The rooms were spotless, on arrival you are asked if you wanted your room cleaned everyday or every 2 days. We opted for every 2 which was a good decision as we got complementary room safe and free mini bar in the room. We have a lovely view from our room too.

The restaurant was brilliant. Every night had a different cuisine and there was always variety. We had members of our family with allergies and veggies and no one ever struggled to fill their plate. Desserts too were unreal. The lobby bar is a nice place to chill out with a huge bar there and plenty of drinks including branded.

Overall our stay was unreal and would 100% revisit. If I were to moan about anything it would be the lifts can take a while but luckily we were on the second floor so taking the stairs wasn’t end of the world. Other than that everything was perfect.

Excellent. Top top hotel

I visited Tenerife with my family as my father turns 70 this year. Me and my wife had looked at review after review, looking for a child friendly accomodation and finally got a recommendation from friends who had visited Bouganville before. 

The hotel is quite large and hosts many guests. The Bouganville dining hall is pretty big and serves a very broad variety of food for all types of diets and is very well run. We spent quite some time at the swimming pool and kids area, which are great. 

This brings me to the crown jewel of this hotel, the staff. Every staff member visibly did their very best to meet their guests needs and we were no exception. They usually paid attention to the children before talking to the adults, which leaves the kids feeling included in every conversation which is absolutely the correct approach in our opinion. 

The group stage of Euro 2024 was in full swing during our stay and if there would be anything I would like to see change at this hotel it would be some sort of separation between the live music and viewers of an event of that caliber.

In conclusion, if we're to visit Tenerife with kids again, Iberostar's Bouganville Playa will absolutely be our hotel of choice.

Outstanding staff

amily of four, kids ages 7 and 5, just completed our stay and Iberostar Bouganville Playa, and had the best family vacation we could have ever asked for.  We didn't know what to expect as it was our first time traveling to Europe with our little ones, but this place was a dream for those with young kids.  I will briefly summarize the pros and cons below:

PROs:
FRIENDLY STAFF:  There was always an abundance of staff everywhere in the hotel to help with any of our needs from the front desk, to the pool, to the restaurants.  99% of them were extremely friendly and helpful in many ways.  Room cleaning staff was great as well. Prior to arrival I worked the manager Javier to get my accommodations squared away and he was extremely helpful and responsive to my questions

KIDS STUFF:  Our kids loved this vacation more than any other.  There were a a number of kid friendly pools. They literally spent a couple of days doing the 5+ slides. They couldn't get enough. There was an arcade with a number of games including air hockey. Never seen a hotel with this. Table tennis is free and available. Because we were always so busy doing activities, the kids didn't really get to utilize the Star Camp, but we saw it plenty and they had great activities to keep the kids entertained if the parents wanted adult time

FOOD:  I was thoroughly impressed with the vast array of food choices they had every night.  So many stations to accommodate a wide variety of tastes, healthy eating options, and options for vegetarians. Themed nights of Mexican, Asian, Moroccan cuisine etc, kept a week of eating with the AI package from getting too mundane

ROOMS: We had a family of 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 kids and got the junior suite and family suite.  I was very satisfied with our rooms and it gave us plenty of space and sofa beds for the kids to sleep in either room when they wanted. Gorgeous views too!

GROUNDS:  I felt the resort was kept up extremely well and it was beautiful

GYM:  Very impressed with the exercise facilities

CONS:
There really weren't many with out being nit-picky. But if I had to choose they would be the following:

1) Elevators: For the amount of guests at the resort, they were quite small. For the most part, this was not an issue. However, during the peak hours of meal time, you may have to wait 5 minutes or take the stairs if you choose, as many elevators are full

2) AI:  Not being able to change from the AI to Half-board package once started.  If my family were to be able to go back in time, we would have chosen the half-board.  After being there a few days we wanted to venture out into some of the other towns and try local establishments, but we were not permitted to change to half-board as we had already paid the full-board price

SUMMARY:
You can't go wrong with this place.  Iberostar knows how to run a hotel and you won't be disappointed if you stay here

BEST FAMILY VACATION! Exceeded expectations tremendously!

Iberostar Bougainville Playa, sounds luxurious, glorious even, do not believe it. Its just another 4star (so called) hotel in downtown Adeje Tenerife. 
Booked here for our 49th wedding anniversary gift to ourselves. Just half board, nothing special, and that just about sums up my feelings for this concrete pile of nothingness but unhappiness.
Its huge, 10 residential floors of 70 rooms to a floor, plus 3 floors below  to the restaurants,  pool areas, you do the sums, and 4 lifts (elevators to you yanks) that service the lot. If you like a very long wait for a lift you will really enjoy your stay, if like me you want to enjoy a stress free relaxing holiday and get on with your day avoid this place like the plague. As you will no doubt end walking up and down the stairs to get anywhere fast.
As for the rest of the hotel its pretty non descript really, corporate styling amounting to all show and no real substance.  The rooms are adequate, nothing special,  no real ‘wow’ factor and as usual our room overlooked the carpark.
The restaurant, on two sitting timings is, (book the 1st and aim to achieve the 2nd with state of the lifts) is ok, marginally better than just ‘normal’ buffet dining but buffet none the less. Plenty of show cooking and breakfast was best, but just too many people jostling for food. 
Pool areas are adequate the usual very limited sunbeds and parasols available for the guests. Very little grass. Cost of beverages are almost double than any outside bar or restaurant and the glasses smaller. We spent more time at a bar over the road.
All in all a very disappointing stay and I for one will never contemplate returning.

For me its an avoid

This hotel is located on the promenade of San Eugenio, just steps from Playa del Bobo beach. There are a lot of shops and entertainment venues just minutes away, as well as public transport links nearby. Puerto de Colón is located nearby, where guests can enjoy boating and fishing trips. New Star Prestige area with personalized service, facilities and comfortable rooms. This is a great hotel for families with children as it counts with useful services and facilities specially designed for the little ones, such as a new Star Camp area and several fantastic swimming pools with sunbeds for adults to sunbathe or enjoy a moment of relaxation. Guest rooms are luminous and offer a fresh and modern style to guarantee a memorable stay.

The dress code to access the main restaurant consists of formal clothes for gentlemen, such as long pants during dinners.
