Pool

A fabulous hotel, built in the 1970's with space, luxury and an understanding of what a traveller wants. To some it may look dated, but look again. It is clean and so very well looked after. There are so many beautiful places to walk and sit. The gardens are exceptional and the 3 different pool areas mean you never feel you are on a 'package' holiday.
The food is really good, healthy and variable.
I can not recommend this enough for the traveller who wants space to unwind and relax. We have already booked our return trip and we are still here!

Fabulous Hotel, an absolute gem.

Overall we had a very good experience at this hotel. 

All the staff were kind, pleasant, smiley and helpful, always. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was on the seaward side with a balcony and spectacular sea view, but very noisy as the Atlantic waves crash on the rocks directly below. We didn't mind this, but if you want a quieter environment, ask for a room on the garden side. 

Breakfast (buffet style) offered a lot of choice, including cooked food, fruit, pastries, cold cuts/ cheeses etc. The evening meal buffet was also perfectly acceptable, although we mostly chose to eat out as there are various tapas bars and restaurants within 10-20 minutes walking distance. Loro park entrance is a 15 minute walk away, and impressive black sand beaches and associated beach bars another 5-10 minutes.

What we liked the most about the hotel was the extensive and beautiful sub-tropical gardens, where you can swim in 3 pools located at different levels on the site. Because the gardens are so large, you can find a quiet spot if you need one. There's also a pool bar serving drinks and light meals.

There were a few downsides, but they were minor. The decor is a little dated and our room could have done with a refresh. To go up in the lift you need to use your room key card, but the card readers are not reliable. It can be a little frustrating trying to get the thing to work so that you can access your room. But these niggles were well outweighed by the positives. 

We  felt that the hotel offered good value and we would stay there again.

A very enjoyable stay

The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.  Breakfast has a good choice of items that are replenished throughout the set times, so nothing runs out. The room was clean (if not a little dated) and the bed very comfortable.  We had a room on the 11th floor with wonderful views of the dramatic coastline; unfortunately the balcony doors rattled in the night as the howling winds and crashing waves danced in harmony!  Surprisingly it was not cold in the room despite the elements outside.  The mini bar was empty, which suited us as we kept our own drinks and snacks in the fridge.  Not much information was given as to when the sheets/towels/toiletries would be replaced - but we followed the international rule of putting our towels in the bath tub and they were changed - the sheets were changed once during our 8 night stay. There is a free shuttle bus service that takes you into the main town which is a nice touch, with the last bus returning to the hotel at 19.45, which is a bit early but to be honest it is not that far to walk, just uphill a lot! Too cold to go in the pool for us, but others enjoyed a morning swim with free towels if you asked for them. Overall a pleasant experience.

An okay place to unwind

If you're a wheelchair user, please make sure to let the hotel know with plenty of notice. I use a wheelchair that doesn't fold and I couldn't get into my room without taking the wheels off as there's a wardrobe immediately as you enter the room. Fortunately, I am able to walk and only use my chair for longer distances.l, but for others, this could be a real issue. We stayed in that room for one night and they were happy enough to swap me into a different room in the morning. That first night was awful. There were concerning dips in the floor and the noise from being next to the ocean was so loud, plus the wind rattles the windows, it sounded like I was lost at sea. The receptionist was lovely and upgraded us to a family room, no issues, though I hope for the sake of others that there are double rooms available that are more accessible, not just family rooms. The family room was luckily on the other side, so it was totally silent. The breakfasts were quite stale and the milk for the cereal was warm so stuck with the crepes every morning. We did have dinner here one evening but unfortunately, when I got to the dessert stand, there was a cockroach crawling on the food. They were very apologetic and gave both of us a glass of wine as an apology, but then still had to pay full price on the meals. Fortunately, we did bring an extension cord as there weren't many sockets and not all of them even worked. There were no ceiling lights, just plug in lamps, which made it quite dim at night. The pool is barely heated but it takes a few seconds for your body to acclimatise. The mattress is quite firm and I found the pillows were far too high. Also beware that the hotel is on a VERY steep hill. Luckily, I can actually walk quite well in hot weather but I was definitely out of breath when I got from the bottom of the hill to the hotel. The WiFi is awful and I ended up just using my data. The zoo is well worth visiting though and it's a very short distance away. As you come into the hotel, it's got a huge lovely lobby which was lovely to sit in, so it really surprised me how poor everything else was. I have no ill intentions and the staff were lovely but I have to be honest.

Wheelchair users (and everyone else) beware!

Overall, we would give this hotel 3 stars. The lobby is beautiful, the pool areas and gardens are too. The staff are without exception very friendly and welcoming. The location, about 1-1.5 miles from the centre of Puerto de la Cruz suited us and we like walking. The main negative is that although the food at breakfast and dinner is varied and plentiful, any hot food is mostly lukewarm. There seems to be some issue with the method of keeping the food hot as it’s all a buffet system. Other hotels seem to be able to keep food hot but here it isn’t which spoils it. The lighting in the dining room is also very bright and so in the evening it feels a bit like being in a canteen, not a restaurant. 
Our room, facing the garden was large, clean and had everything we needed although it’s surprising how dated it was, comparing it to the lobby and bar, it needs refurbishing. In contrast to the dining room, the lighting in here was very poor, no central light existed. We did have some trouble with the lift cards, as did many others and this does need rectifying. We also had an issue with the pre-payment special offer with drinks at dinner where we were given the wrong information by two staff members which resulted in our bill being higher than expected on departure although we were given a free drink in compensation. As the hotel only appeared to be maybe a third to half full, the guy who tried to put some evening entertainment on seemed to be fighting a losing battle and it was very quiet which wouldn’t suit everyone.

Could be wonderful

This hotel, located right on the coast, is set in 40, 000 m² of subtropical gardens and has an impressive palm-fringed swimming pool. Enjoy buffet meals and fantastic views over the Atlantic. Stroll through the Precise Resort Tenerife's fabulous gardens and admire the exotic plants and flowers. Relax with an afternoon siesta under the palms and admire the excellent landscaping while you play tennis or mini golf on the elaborately designed course. Tenerife Sur Airport is 95 km from Precise Resort Tenerife.
