The hotel claims a 5 star hotel and misses to state that staff can  not speak in English. 

Nobody from security, receptionist, waiter, bartender to chef can speak in English. For any questions you may have 1 sure answer is "I don't know English", hardly helps tourist in a foreign country. Most food was not labelled and those rarely labelled were either confusing or wrong so not reliable for a vegetarian. Bartender served wrong drinks. Cook once put non-veg pieces in omlet even after mentioning I just want tomatoes and onions. And none of them ever apologising for wrong doing, like they hardly cared.

 Fitness classes were seldom run, there were many cancellations than not.  So were the water slides, they were more times closed for maintenance than not. Staff failed to explain why a 14 year old wasn't let in one slide due to lack of either English or the real knowledge. 

Bistro cafe was meant to serve food all day and night but all it ever had stock of was the Turkish delight and pastry. If you ever miss your lunch, you have to rely on sugar blasts for many hours till your next meal. A-la-carte restaurants were at a charge rather than being included in the price of an all-inclusive  stay, which is shocking. The name and the decor of hotel was Taj but got nothing to do with Taj and no Indian food served. Being in Turkey there was not even authentic falafel on the menu ever.

Night time entertainment was very poor. They called it a live music but it was armature screaming on mike. Brazil dance performances for a family event was so unsuitable. 

We returned quite unhappy about facilities including staff and food. 

Only good things: daily cleaning service, providing plenty water bottles and taste bhaklava.

Not a 5 star hotel and definitely not for English speaking vegetarians

Last year we went by booking directly from the hotel. This year, we chose Royal Taj Mahal Side Kumköy again during Ramadan with ETS tour. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was the quality of service we received during our first stay at the hotel. Mr. Yağız, an ETS tour representative, called us on the road on our check-in day and asked how our journey was and whether we had any requests during our stay at the hotel. If we want to enter the hotel and list the hotel's facilities, we may be able to help other guests.

1-When we entered the hotel, the customer relations representative and the bellboy welcomed us with their smiling faces.
2-The first question they asked was whether we were hungry. They advised us that we had 15 minutes left for lunch and that if we were hungry, we could eat without waiting to enter the rooms.
Our 3-rooms had superior sea view and were in block A. Last year, we stayed in block E with sea and pool views. Block E is quieter and Block E is the block with pool and music sounds.
4- While the friends at the reception were processing our rooms, they offered us coffee, chocolate, champagne and cookies in the lobby if we wanted.
5-When we went to our rooms, the cleanliness, spaciousness and view were very good.
6-There are 3 pools at the front sea side, 1 pool at the back, a pool with slides and bars around the pools.
7-When it comes to the hotel's food, they have done a great job, improving from last year. I personally congratulated the kitchen chef and his assistants. Since food and service quality are very important to me, Taj Mahal Hotel deserves 10 out of 10 in this regard.
8-Speaking of the food, the service team looks you in the eye and you almost never wait for the drinks served to the table. The service staff do their job both cordially and respectfully.
9-You can have food and drinks at any time at the bars around the pool and on the beach. Snacks offer many options for both children and adults.
10-The amusement park, which is open after dinner until 21.30 in the evenings, is a great service for children. Both children and adults can benefit from this opportunity.
11- The beach is sandy, there are enough sunbeds and showers are sufficient.
12-Since the date we went coincided with Ramadan Feast, the number of guests was quite high. However, the hotel team did their best to provide a successful service during the holiday in such a crowded environment.
13-On the occasion of Ramadan Feast, they served us a wonderful Chocolate and Eid candy feast at the entrance of the Hotel and the Dining Hall. Thank you for your efforts.
14-During the holiday, every day at lunch time, the kitchen team served us special tastes specific to Turkey by the pool. At night, they feasted on sausage rolls and hot dogs accompanied by music for the guests.
15- Last year the animation team was quite weak. They are working with a better team this year. The sisters at Mini Club always take care of the children and try to make them happy.

In conclusion, we would like to thank the Royal Taj Mahal Team, especially the General Manager who is always in charge of his job, and all the other Team Leaders for giving us a nice holiday. I think, unless God prevents us from doing so, we will be in the same hotel next year during Ramadan Feast.

Amazing hotel. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. The pool areas were clean and tidy. Unfortunately the pools were really cold but it was only April. Waterslides were fun, not all were open as the hotel was quiet when we were there. There are a few shops in the hotel which is handy. There are shops across the road from the hotel with some good bargains. The selection of food in the hotel was amazing.  I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Spring holiday at the Royal Taj Mahal

This is our second stay in Turkey. This time with 3 famillys.  Hotel very clean, comfortable, large. The room was clean, upon arrival we were given a room even though it was 10:00 a.m. and the hotel check-in time starts at 2:00 p.m. we received a room of a higher standard than we ordered. The food was very varied and delicious, the entire staff tried very hard to provide the highest level of service - waiters, bartenders and cleaning ladies. The group of animators encouraged both children and adults to have fun, greetings to Jacob :).   The beach is wide, clean, the sea temperature in winter is the same as in Poland in summer :). only one smal minus- a little bit cold water in inside pool. 
 We recommend it to everyone, especially families with children.

Winter vacation 2024

My hubbys 5th time at this hotel and my 2nd , our first trip here as a family of 3 and as always we had a great time!  
Good points:
- THE STAFF! , the staff make this hotel what it is, every year they have great personalities here and this year was no different. The entertainment team was great but in particular tolga  and jacop were so fun and just great to be around, always going out of their way to get us involved in activities and make sure we were having a great time. 
The lifeguards were so friendly and always redoing our towels neatly if we went away and just going out their way to be kind which was so lovely. 
Osman on the shisha bar is always great to unwind in the evenings and really does have the best shisha I’ve ever tried anywhere. 
Huseyin on the serving team was incredible! Honestly never met a kinder more attentive staff member anywhere , he always made sure we had drinks and nuts,always running around serving people while others work at a lot slower pace and he still spent any spare moment he had playing with our toddler and he really just made our holiday evenings so relaxed and enjoyable cannot thank him enough !
- the evening shows were great ! Really good variety and actually talented acts. 
- day time entertainment and activities are good, always a choice of things to do and fun pool games.
- food was really improved since last time we came and was a lot better.
- hotel is in the perfect location with lots of shops around, an atm and a very reliable friendly cheap taxi rank only a short walk down the road that can take you into side or anywhere you’d like. 
- house keeping was incredible , went above and beyond in our room even washing up baby bottles and placing my babies teddies in her cot so sweet , making towel swans and folding clothes. Thank you to the whole team. 
- actual hotel is always super clean and  hygienic
- beautiful beach and surroundings
- lush weather as always
- they treat any stray animals around the hotel so well!! They even have a cat house by the beach. 

A few Bad points: 
- room was facing on side of road and when looking down from balcony their was lots of workers smoking and talking quite loudly which wasn’t the nicest but luckily we don’t spend a lot of time in the room or on balcony. 
- room was also pretty bad sound proof so you hear people in other rooms and in the hallway until quite late
- the pool was extremely cold , way too cold for my toddler to swim in so we kept her in a float above the water, this was a real shame as we were looking forward to swimming with her.
