The Island is an absolute paradise....one feels like U are on a deserted Island! So so perfect for a romantic, quiet getaway! Absolute Bliss! The food could have been more varied from lunch to dinner.....but quality of food is good!
Our Waiter Ali was absolutely amazing knowing exactly what we drank before we even sat down the drinks were awaiting us. The water villa was an absolute treat, we had a baby manta and baby shark swimming right on our doorstep.
Thank you for the best holiday ever.

Holiday in paradise

What an amazing experience for our honeymoon! I cried when we had to leave! 
Beautiful rooms/watervillas 
Amazing food in the restaurant! Every night there was a different theme! 
The entertainment was very good! every night hosting a different kind of event. 
We loved Ali in the restaurant he was so funny and kind! 
Definitely recommend to anyone!! 
We swam with sharks each day around our villa and did a guided snorkel twice a day for free around the island with the girls who were amazing! They know there stuff about fish ! Would definitely recommend doing the manta ray excursion it was amazing! The manta rays are huge and once again the dive girls go above and beyond to get you the best experience

BEST HOLIDAY EVER

Well, I have just returned - rather reluctantly - from my third trip to the Maldives, but first to Sandies Bathala, and already cant wait to book my return. 

What a delightful time was spent on this island... From the ability to slip into the water from our villa, and being surrounded by thousands of tropical fish, like so many watery liquorice allsorts,  to being spoiled absolutely rotten by the awesome staff...  

It is clear that a great deal of time is spent in the tiny details. We were met at the jetty by the Executive assistant Manager Tyrone, who was attentive to our every nee

d during our stay. He also made sure to say goodbye to us on the day of our departure. In fact, all the staff seemed to put the guest at the forefront, and between Bibi in our villa and Amjad at our restaurant table, we were made to feel really special. This theme was carried through to all the various teams, even Ushal at reception, who had only been at the resort for 3 weeks. My friend became ill during our stay, and Mahendra - the restaurant manager - made sure to provide food that would support her recovery; sending it all the way to our villa.

The main reason I chose Sandies though was because of the house reef. Sadly I am no longer able to dive, however did not feel deprived when sinking beneath the waters at Sandies with my mask, snorkel and fins. The quantity of fish, and hundreds of species made the experience simply magical, and while one can see that the corals are being affected by the bleaching in the Maldives, it has not much affected the beauty of the fish around the island. 

I can only say thank you for the privilege of this experience. It was wonderful and my heart is full of gratitude...

Small ressort with only 70 rooms with emphasis on sustainability. The hotel is now (2024) five years old, the rooms are in good condition.
House reef is ideal for snorkeling/diving, a variety of excursions are offered.

The island is truly a paradise! The water is clear and inviting! And from the moment you see the island from the seaplane you would feel so fortunate to spend your holiday there. Everyone is so welcoming and professional. Tyrone the manager, was caring and always trying to ensure a great experience. His team was exceptional and everyone showed love for their jobs and the island! 
The weather, even thought, it was Rainy season we were able to enjoy the island, the water, and the reef! 
Best snorkeling without having to leave the island. No need to book extra tours, even thought they were many available. 
The food was the only shortage.. not because of lack of quality or quantity. It was just cold… since it’s slow season food is made for the buffet and not consumed fast therefore it’s cold. I think management could consider other ways to balance this out. Having some stations like pasta made at the moment helps but there are many items that could be perfect if made to order. 
I hope Elizabeth from the snorkeling team read this review. She was a top contributor in our stay. Always helpful and reliable. Snorkeling was amazing but she truly care about our well being and ensure we enjoy every minute of it. 
We stayed in both type of accommodations: beach bungalow and over the water villa! Both amazing! Great bedding! Equipped for a perfect night sleep. 
The island is amazing, the beach, the vegetation, the pool, the reef, best stars at night, sunrise and sunrise were spectacular. 
Thank you Sandies Bathala! I wish I can book another stay in the future!
