The travel time from the mid west of the United States was not fun, but once we arrived in Maldives it was well worth the long couple days of travel.

From the airport to the resort what an amazing experience.  Staff was amazing and their attention to detail was second to none!  Food was amazing, and great to try new things.  We never went hungry.  Did not do too much other than relax and enjoy the views.  Fishing trip was fun, snorkeling was a bit overwhelming for someone older and with not much experience, but was fun and to be out in the middle of the ocean was a great view.

Last couple days of our 8 day trip was a complete wash out.  Heavy rain, waves and wind washed out almost all activities.  But again, staff was right on everything and never missed a beat.

Bungalows over the water are amazing and outside shower and tub were great!

Amazing!  Worth the travel time!

My husband and I enjoyed 7 stunning nights at the Mercure Maldives in a Pool beach Villa.
The view from our room was breathtaking, the room itself was spacious with a large bathroom and outdoor tub and shower. We especially enjoyed laying on the banana lounges in our yard, being only a few steps away from the water whilst being covered by the beautiful palms. It was perfection.
The location is absolutely stunning. The Mercure is surrounded by turquoise waters which still had me mesmerised on our last day. The reef located just a few meters out from the water villas is the best I’ve ever encountered. It was my dream to see turtles up close and I was lucky enough to encounter them 6 out of 7 days. I was also lucky enough to see countless colourful fish, dolphins only meters away, rays and even a few baby reef sharks. This was truly one of the best experiences of my life.
Kasun and all the other bar staff were exceptional. They are attentive, friendly and make great beverages. They make the experience 10/10.
The food staff were also fantastic, extremely friendly and attentive. The lovely lady at the egg station each morning was brilliant, always smiling and made great eggs.
The only thing with regards to food I would change was the quality of the produce (meat/ fruit & veg).
This was truly a holiday of a lifetime. I would definitely recommend The Mercure Maldives to anyone looking to visit. I will definitely be back.

The ultimate experience! Everything is out of the world, you will be looked after at highest standard, beautiful scenery, excellent food varies each day cater for everyone, very clean room, brilliant activities and well beings, excellent bar staffs to get you in party mood. Just perfect

Ultimate resort

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Kooddoo. We cannot fault anything and even the weather was amazing. We visited in June so it was the monsoon season, but only had a couple of very short sharp showers. All the staff were so attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious and the restaurant and bar staff were all lovely, especially Made who looked after us on most days. We particularly like the Maldivian evenings. We loved the different themes each night, and the ‘live’ food station in the centre. The Italian restaurant made a nice change and was again lovely with attentive staff, a stunning setting and great food. We were in an overwater villa. It faced the island which we enjoyed as it meant we had some shade on the deck later in the day where we could enjoy the snacks and a drink from the minibar. The view was beautiful to wake up to each morning. We loved the accessibility to the sea and spent lots of time snorkelling. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off afterwards and we enjoyed the fish watching panel in the floor. All the cleaning staff were so attentive and we really appreciated the bed art which made my birthday special. We participated in the arts and crafts session which was lots of fun, and then Javed (I hope I have his name correct) very kindly spent time with us in our villa making us fresh crafts from coconut leaves to last until we got home.
One of the highlights of our trip has to be the water activities run by the diving centre. We 
are fairly new to diving and felt very safe and well looked after by Maaiz, Agus and Gracia. Both Maaiz and Agus are fantastic dive leaders who gave us the confidence to explore the amazing reefs local to the island. We saw many turtles, sharks, sting rays and so many different fish. It was truly incredible and beautiful. The boat captain and crew looked after us and our gear so well and made the diving experience so easy for us. We also enjoyed the dolphin cruise, the snorkelling trip and the jet skis.
This was very much the holiday of a lifetime!

Fantastic holiday, nothing too much trouble!

After 27 hours of travel, to be greeted by the crystal clear, turquoise waters of the Maldives was a welcome relief.  Once you arrive at Kooddoo Airport and are taken to the arrivals area, you are met with a very interesting baggage re-claim system.   The Resort, itself, is located on the island with the Airport, but you honestly do not hear the 3 or 4 flights that arrive/depart each day and this will not distract from the beautiful surroundings that are there.  In fact, after four plane rides, I was very relieved that I did not have to board a boat for a minimum 25 minute boat ride to the next nearest resort like some of the other guests that arrived on the same flight as us.  By this time, I just wanted my room to change and go for a swim in the sea.  The Kooddoo Resort staff are there at the Airport waiting for you to be taken by cart for a very short tour of the island and then to your room.  After a brief run-though of the resort's facilities and schedule etc, you are left to enjoy your time as you please.   
This place is stunning.  Pictures just do not do it justice.  We were concerned about travelling during the rainy season but out of the 10 days that we stayed, 9.5 of the days were perfect.  We did have a nice storm roll through one evening and I was glad that we got to experience it and the cool, windy air was very much appreciated.  It only lasted for an hour or so and was then gone.  Most of the rainfall occurred during the night while we were sleeping so did not bother us at all.
The excursions that were offered were great.  We chose the Dolphin Cruise, Sunset Fishing and a fun Tube-Ride being pulled by a jet-ski, bouncing through the water.  We got to see dolphins, I caught a  Trevally on the fishing trip, and the chef prepared it for lunch the next day.  Grilled with Lemon butter.  It was superb.
The restaurant's were both really good.  The food on offer was very diverse and there will always be something for everyone's taste.  We never went hungry ( or thirsty ) and be prepared to put on a couple vacation kilo's.  Alisia, Made and Abhishek always greeted us by name when we arrived for either breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Our favourite drinks were memorised and offered.  Used crockery and cutlery were cleared immediately and I got to hear some great stories too about their culture, lives and experience working at the Resort.  Thank you so much for your attention to detail and time spent with us.
You can choose how you wish to spend your time, and we met some lovely people from all over the World and shared countless cocktails and stories.  Kasun, Kamal and Pradeep were only too happy to show off their cocktail making skills and we were just as happy consuming them!  Thank you so much guys.
Our room was amazing.  We ended up with room 518 which was right at the end of the boardwalk ( great for walking off a few extra calories consumed during meals ).  It was the perfect location for snorkelling around the house reef as well as a great location for the "drop-off" which had some amazing marine life and a shelf were sea turtles rested and we were sure to see some every time we went out for a look.  I've snorkelled in Mexico, Fiji and the Great Barrier Reef, and this place is top notch for the variety of species, the safety in terms of no strong current or dangerous wildlife, and I can not recommend it enough.
Each day our room was made up and any items that we used from the bar fridge, or snack drawer were replenished (complimentary with all inclusive).  I am hoping I get the names right here, but the guys responsible for always making us feel like we were coming home to our room each day was Hassan and Jilani.  Thank you for your time and effort.
We were invited to an evening of champagne and canapes  where we were able to meet management from the Resort and we had the pleasure of meeting Stefania who was so welcoming and polite, eager to hear how our stay was going, and if there was anything that she could do to make our stay better.  Stefania runs a very tight ship there at the Resort and how well everything was co-ordinated and run is testament to her commitment to hospitality, customer service and ensuring each and every guest has a once in a lifetime experience.  Thank you Stefania for your time and effort.  It was a pleasure meeting you and your team and I sincerely hope that we are able to visit again.
If there is anyone that I forgot to mention, I apologise, my memory isn't as sharp as it was in my 20s, but thank you all as well for making our stay so amazing.
I'll conclude this by saying that my partner and I had a once in a lifetime holiday and we were very sad to leave.  For anyone thinking about going and perhaps are in two minds, I'd say go for it.  You will not be disappointed.
