I normally do not write reviews but I have been so impressed with the hospitality of this staff that I felt compelled to share our experience.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, but even more so is the staff there. We were assigned 2 hosts who were one WA message away - Sanjay and Ishwar - wonderful and responsive hosts - helping us with anything from blankets and potties for children to restaurant bookings. They were very helpful and attentive when our son injured his head and needed immediate attention. I was very impressed and relieved to learn that there was a doctor on site who had a medical cabinet there and applied the required treatment and stitches to our 3 year old.

Another remarkable staff is Virana (head of breakfast restaurant). I mistakenly assumed that breakfast opened at 7 am (in fact it was 7.30am), so every morning for about 4 days - a party of 5 people including 2 children, was marching into the breakfast restaurant...and not once where we made to think that we are not welcome, inadequately early - aalthough it was quite obvious that the staff were still getting the place ready (of course, I assumed THEY were late....). So a heartfelt thank you to Virana for always welcoming us and accomodating us despite early arrival. And also the employee at the pancake counter - we kept him very busy! - sorry...and thank you!

There were many beautiful moments like this that made our stay truly beautiful, but I dont want to make this post too long. We will surely return to this amazing place with beautiful people!

Gorgeous staff

One & Only Le Saint Geran is incredible, we’ve recently returned from the best family holiday we’ve ever had.  What really made it was the staff, they were all so genuinely warm, helpful and friendly, by the end they felt like family.

Our host Hrithik was the absolute best, he went above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable, he is a true asset to the hotel.  We had 2 birthdays in the family while there and the whole team made both birthdays incredibly special for us all, everything was always done with the biggest smile too.  The host service is a superb touch, Hrithik, Joyce and Kiran were so professional and attentive and Bheemal too for making our special dinner perfect.

Our housekeeper Kamal was so sweet, the rooms were always spotless and it was always a pleasure to get to speak with him daily, anything you needed he would sort, we felt we were in excellent hands, he was brilliant.  

Kooshal the Concierge always greeted us every time we went past and asked how our day was going.  He helped throughout our stay with various trips and special celebrations, always willing, always with a smile and with genuine warmth.

A very big shout out to the Pool & La Pointe team, Eric, Yogesh & Arun, they made our whole family feel so welcome, they were super attentive and it was so lovely to get to know them, it really made our stay.

Nikita and her team at La Terasse greeted us daily with big smiles and accommodated the family with great tables, wonderful drinks and the food was absolutely delicious, our girls loved the independence of the breakfast and dinner buffet, such a fabulous selection of foods, we are still missing the buffet weeks later.

The hotel, the location and facilities are all five star but what really makes this place is the staff, it is second to none, the best we have experienced, truly excellent service.  We do hope we get to visit again. Thank you Le Saint Geran

Absolutely amazing holiday, the very best staff there is.

Having stayed across many hotels around the world with my family on vacation, I must say this has been the best experience ever.

The staff, the hotel, the beautiful long beach, the well-manicured gardens, the spa are the major highlights of the resort.

The food is exceptional, the breakfast has large spread breads, breakfast rolls, freshly baked croissants, crepes and waffles made to order.

There is so a huge option of fresh fruits to choose from and the chef is happy to cut some fruit if you do not want to take it from the buffet.

Rooms are beautiful, we had 2 rooms and our host with the housekeeping ensured that our rooms were cleaned every day on the time that we requested for. We also had thoughtful turndown gift on a daily basis till our departure. Our son who is a now a teen was given a bag with gifts on the day we arrived; gifts that were meant for teens and not kids...so thoughtful.

The staff does not understand the word "NO", it's like finding a genie in a bottle who can grant you unlimited requests, they go above and beyond to ensure that we had a more than comfortable stay.

I would love to name of few staff that we encountered during our stay, but this would be unfair to those whose names we do not remember, literally every staff we came across from the gardeners, security, chefs, restaurant staff, managers, housekeeping staff they all had displayed a sense of wanting to serve you with a genuine heart.

Experience of a lifetime

Thanks to the person who brought the ice cream!

Here's what fell short of expectations:

Hygiene: Sanitization practices didn't seem to meet expectations, room wasn't cleaned well
Pool Safety: It was concerning to see wild ducks swimming with children in the pool.
Drink Service: Lipstick marks on cocktail glasses raise hygiene concerns.
Shisha Issues: quality was poor and finding ash or insects in the shisha hose is unacceptable.
Bird Problem: Staff should be more responsive to requests to replace food snatched by birds.
Kids' Club: The messy environment and lack of engaging activities for children is disappointing. Staff demeanor could also be improved.
Beach Suitability: While the beach might be okay for adults, it's not ideal for children.

You may find better place to stay

In Mauritius this year and reminiscing of how last year’s vacation was at One & Only, miss being part of the Kerzner family. Hats off to all the fellow Mauritian who works in the hotel and took great care of us, service was amazing, massive rooms and lovely amenities. We need to have more tourists visiting those established 5* hotel instead of the new ones in Mauritius which are not up to the standard.
