It was the best 10 days we have spent in mauritius. This is the 1st time we were spoiled by real 5 star resort and the experience was way beyond our expectation. Staff was really nice and accommodating. Breakfast choices was superb. Room service is always on time. Bed and beach activities was amazing and the highlight of our stay.

I stayed here for 10 days for my honeymoon in the villa on stilts .. I give this place a 20/10 from the amazing service to the kindness and professionalism of the staff this place is absolutely exceptional I will definitely be coming back here many time in the years to come

Exceptional Experience

Where to start….(apologies for the long review but its deserved!)

This has to be one of the most phenomenal resorts I’ve ever stayed at and I like to think I’ve been lucky enough to experience some ‘out of this world’ accomodation over the years. From the moment we drove into the torch lit gates of the ‘compound’ and were greeted by name (how did they know who we were?!?) the evening we arrived, and then were ushered in to the expansive but beautifully decorated indoors/outdoors lobby we could tell we were in for a treat.

Upon arrival we were ‘checked in’ in a wonderfully comfortable sofa/chair arrangement. We were quickly offered a welcome champagne (which we gladly obliged) before given a quick overview of the resort, our booking, and how a few ‘essentials’ worked (breakfast times, locations etc.) As it was past 9:30pm were were also given the option to hurry ourselves to dinner and/or request room service if we were hungry (which we opted for as we were anxious to get to our room!)

After some light ‘admin’ we were escorted to our room, which was an over water ‘stilts’ room. Turned out it was located right at the end of the row of over water rooms unfortunately right next to a walkway out to the floating bar/restaurant so the deck which was wonderful, was also about 20-30 feet from people coming/groing to dinner etc. That being said it was never an issue despite our early concerns! Shortly after our room service order came and and we sat on our wonderful deck feeling the beautiful 26+ celsius evening breeze ease us into our holiday!

Room:
- The room itself was wonderful with plenty of space to hang up and put away our clothes, two sinks, a huge soaking tub and walk in rain shower (unfortunately not an outdoor shower for this option but more to come on that in a sec!)
- The bedroom and living room was comfortable and practical with all the luxuries you’d want including effective AC and a large over-the-bed fan which was much appreciated!

Resort Facilities:
- Throughout the week we were at Maurice we took advantage of many (not all) of the included options which are very generous and include water sports such as waterskiing etc (very unusual as this is almost always a paid option!) Lots of sailing, paddle boarding, SUP, and kayaking options as well. The beach set up is wonderful and intimate with plenty of paired chez’s and thatched umbrella’s stationed along the beach. With that came a great beach service as every set of chairs had a ‘call button’ to request drink/food service. The beach staff were incredible and special mentions to Sundeep, Vikash, Pereem, and Sunjay!!  There was never an ask too much and do not miss out on the wonderful Strawberry and Mango daiquiris if you get a chance! (Ask for them extra ‘icy’)
- My wife also enjoyed the spa a few times and declared her massages as some of the best she’s ever received (enough that she re-booked with the exact same masseuse multiple times!)

Dining:
- We had thoroughly researched our options and decided that the ‘economics’ favoured us going ‘all inclusive’ so despite the hefty up front subsidy, we were definitely glad we did, especially when we saw the prices of everything! As other reviews have indicated, Mauritius is an expensive island and Maurice is no exception.
- Unlike many other options we’d researched Maurice’s ‘inclusive’ options were exceptionally generous. From a fully stocked mini bar that was refreshed daily to your personal favourite spirits stocked (once per stay) in your room to every restaurant and bar offering what felt like 80-90 of the entire menu…we definitely didn’t feel like we went ‘without’. We frequently indulged in various wines, cocktails, and I particularly enjoyed a tipple (or two) at then of the night from the extensive (and still included) Whiskey menu! Depending on your ‘penchant’ for eating/drinking while on holiday..the all inclusive option is definitely worth considering!
- Again, the staff in the restaurants are outstanding. Special mentions go out to Nazheef in the Asian restaurant who was incredible, and Aniket in the main restaurant who were absolute standouts!
- Also a special mention to Isabelle who was on a rotation at the resort and who was incredibly friendly and personable. Wishing you the best in your hospitality career and congratulations to the Constance Hotel group for nurturing such great talent!

Cautions:
- Although our entire stay was incredible we did have a few learnings which we hope will help others..they include:
1) We thoroughly came out ahead by going all inclusive but it might be worth doing the the math as you needed to have full three meals AND a generous amount of beverages throughout the day to come out on top. If you’re likely to skip meals and/or go light on the drinks..think about half board etc.
2) Despite this being advertised as a 6-star resort and assuming that might insinuate that it skewed more towards couples etc, we were surprised by the amount of families/kids that were there! We weren’t able to avoid European/South African school holidays due to our schedule but didn’t expect to see quite so many families at such an expensive resort. I can only imagine that certain ages are free or heavily discounted but it’s well worth doing your research on what times of the year are quieter when it comes to kids! Not that it was any disruption but if you are trying to avoid or minimise a family/kids atmosphere, it’s worth planning for. Ironically we had left our 4 kids at home due to the bulk of our trip being a wedding that kids weren’t invited to so we weren’t averse to kids/families but when you’re travelling without them you tend to ‘spoil’ yourself by avoiding them! Hahah (Tip: We were told by several staff at the resort that end of October and through November is the ideal combination of weather and low season/no kids)

In Summary:
- Overall we had a magical stay at Maurice. Coupled with the fact that it had been many years since we’d enjoyed a holiday without our four children, the resort, the facilities, the food, and of course the service were beyond expectations. The personal service and the willingness of all the staff to go over and beyond was magical. I still can’t figure out how they all remember everyone’s names but it was a wonderful touch.
- Although we often prefer to try new places when we travel there is no doubt in our minds that we will be back at the Constance Prince Maurice in the not to distant future to enjoy (once again) all that this magnificent property has to offer! Really appreciated the personal touch..congratulations Sebastian Mamet to you and your team and we'll definitely be back!

Incredible experience..in every sense!

Right from making our reservation it has been a great experience, Genevieve was extremely helpful as we are a family of 6 that returned to Constance Prince Maurice for the 5th time! 

Jas, Rachel and Akshada are extremely friendly, helpful and professional and nothing is effortlessly! 

Our accommodation and especially our food was equivalent to a 7 Star Hotel! I need to give a shoutout to Sen that we have known for some years now and it is very pleasant to see excitement on their faces when we meet again! 

This Hotel is a must and I regard it as the best on the Island!

7 Star Experience!

We stayed there for 7 days with our 2 years old baby. It has been a great experience. All staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. 

The bedroom and living room was comfortable.  

From Concierge-Service to housekeeping service to restaurant to beach service, the whole staff was kind and polite. 

The restaurants (Archipel and Anousha Asian) were amazing, excellent food and great cocktails too. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Baby food prepared fresh daily.

We enjoyed in SPA. 

The resort, the facilities, the food, and the service were beyond expectations. 

Special thanks to Gloria, Tashvin, Maheer in the Archipel, the housekeeping staff Marie, Preetam in the beach service  and Christelle.
