The overall experience was an exceptional one the service was quick and friendly. It always felt like we were welcomed at every place that we went and the staff would go out of their way to make friends with us. There was one special person who made our trip , name is Emmanuel. He was open a conversationalist always willing to help. Making our stay 10x more enjoyable. 
  Once again our stay was great the food variety was amazing the food staff was friendly and attentive. Will recommend friends and family to come to this resort

Our experience of Solaris while dinning in there restaurants and staff

Just had one of my best vacations ever!!!!! This resort in particular is outstanding because their staff takes care of their guest. We had a blast with the entertainment crew, they genuinely took care of us and that's why I'm comfortable giving them 5 stars. I'll personally would like to thank Yzrael Aguilar for taking care of us while my son needed a badaid he took time out to get it for us and asked next day how he felt knowing they have so much guest to take care of. Shout out to Ruben, Chris, Leo, Abraham, Grecia, Nina and Melissa.

Disappointed, I felt defrauded.
1. I made the reservation through a third party agency (hotwire) and booked for 2 adults and 2 children.
After first night of stay, front desk called my room to tell me there was a problem with my reservation. Withing the confusion of the hotel and the agency I ended up paying over 70% more of my original reservation price.
 
2. Hotel is under remodeling. Our room was across the wing under remodeling and there were hammer and drill noises all day long. Impossible to rest.

3. One of the nights the power went off for some time with no backup. Neither AC nor vents worked on the room, making it impossible to sleep at probably 90-100 degree F

4. three out four of us has stomach problems during and after the stay. I brough to the waiter attention that some of the dishes (fruits) tasted stale. No action was taken. 

Won't go back.

Disappointed, I felt defrauded.

This resort was a bummer from the get-go.  To begin, as members, we get a free ride to and from the airport.  We were emailed information as to where to meet the shuttle and nobody was there for 45 minutes.  Meantime, we are bombarded by people with official looking shirts that read "Official Taxi" who claimed to be the ride to the resort.  We didn't fall for that, but waited for the guy who had our name on a clipboard.  We arrived too late to meet with the concierge, so we arranged a meeting for 8:30 the following morning.  We met with Ivonne, who was personable enough, but that was th last we saw of her.  Each time we stopped by her office to talk to her, she wasn't there, but at a sister resort, also in Cancun.  She never offered us the complimentary excursion that all members get.  We requested an appointment for a few days later at 8:30am to review our membership.  We arrived on time only to find out that she had sent us a text wanting to reschedule for noon of the same day.  We came back at noon and were ushered to the sister resort next door and handed off to another person (concierge?) named Sergio, who was extremely helpful n helping us to understand the terms of our contract and offered us the option to upgrade, which we declined.  We told him about Ivonne's unavailability as well as the fact that we had not been offered the member's excursion.  He tried to call Ivonne but got no answer.  Later on, we passed Ivonne in the halllway and he advised her about them excursion.  We never heard another word from her after that.  But wait!  there's more. 
This resort is currently under renovation and as such, many things here are either shabby or not working.....specifically the elevators. My wife is 81 and I am 75.  It makes no sense to put elderly people on the third floor with elevators that only work half the time.  The water in the room is only lukewarm, which makes for some interesting showers.  We understand that when the renovation is done, scheduled for December, things will be better.  Until then, we should have been accommodated on another floor or even to two other sister resorts which are within 2 miles of this one.  The food here seems to be better than the food at the Solaris in Cabo, so that's a plus.  All in all, this has been a disappointment and I'm glad we did not opt for the upgrade.

Don't go until they fix these problems, should get better after December.

The staff at gr caribe and royal Solaris are exceptional!  We love Javier and can’t wait to return.  The resort is doing a lot of renovations and working hard to continue and improve the experience. We have been coming here for over 20 years and it is our home away from home
