This place.. a blast! They had many activities for the week! The beds are super comfy, the restaurants are yummy and the service was always great!

Amazing time!

The amenities, service and 99.99% of the staff were amazing. I did however have 3 separate negative interactions with staff wearing green shirts. One was the morning after check in and others were when booking different services. I was treated very poorly by these people and it really put a damper in n my family’s vacation. I highly suggest to stay away from the sales people wearing green! The beach is also terrible both years we’ve come here. Their photos are very misleading. The entire property beach is 100% unusable.

I am not usually one to write a bad review but we stayed at Moon Palace Nizuc and it was a horrible experience. There was 12 of us total, 7 adults and 5 children aging from 3-16 years old. Upon check in they refused to put us all together in the same building. Our travel agent requested we please be together because of our kids and they simply said no, even if you request we don’t have to provide them close to each other. We just wanted the same building as the resort is spread out and they refused. My sister had to upgrade her room just to be closer to their kids. The resort is literally falling apart. I am adding photos to show some of the damage. It rained almost the whole time we were there and the roof was leaking so badly one person fell and hit their head so badly they had to have medical attention. The cleanliness was subpar and not what I am used to at an all inclusive either. On top of poor building conditions, and terrible lack of cleanliness, you had to take a shuttle to Sunrise, and there was absolutely no lines to assure the first people waiting would be on the shuttle. It was a wait 15-20 for the shuttle then push and shove to get on even before others tried to get off. Nizuc had very little night life, or anything for teens under 18 to do. Our kids were so bored and so were we. The shows were held in a very crappy room that felt like a conference room by day. The shows felt like high school talent shows. The staff was not friendly or accommodating what so ever minus a very few (Angel pool bar, and Jorge waiter at the pool). The buffet was mediocre at best. Our favorite restaurant was the hibachi grill at Sunrise, and I would recommend that. Overall very displeased with this resort and will never go back or recommend to anyone.

Terrible Experience

I do not understand what the fuss is about. We are beach people and the photos on trip advisor are a lie. It looks nothing like that. The resort is huge and not a single person was at the beach. Reviews even said beach is great. Rooms are dated and had maintenance issues. Whole resort had a smell that was supposed to be nice but was just covering something. Staff was lovely and their best asset. Kids liked the golf carts. Food was decent. However, I can’t recommend this resort. Why would anyone go to the coast and not get in the ocean? Baffling.

Beach is awful! Not impressed.

I never write reviews but felt I needed too based on the bad reviews here.  We went in with very little expectations as we had read all of the bad reviews.  We are very picky and have been to many all inclusive resorts.  We HAD to take this vacation as we got suckered into spending $300 when we left Moon Palace Jamaica last year.  I wouldn't recommend anyone buying the deal as my sister has since been diagnosed with cancer and is unable to leave the country.  They refuse to give her any money back or extend the expiration.

We decided to get private transportation to the resort from the airport.  It was $120 round trip for 4 people.  Knowing what I now know, I would recommend an UBER.  Much cheaper and only a 15/20 minute car ride. 

Got to the resort and was asked to upgrade to the Grand.  Declined.  Then was asked to upgrade to Ocean front for $200 more total.  We accepted and our room was practically in the water.  AC was great.  View amazing and room very clean.  We got a kind bed with two rollaways for my 15 and 18 year old.  Stinks that they have a huge tub in the room but what can you do.  We used it for dirty clothes and our suitcases.

We had no issues with getting chairs at the pool.  Tons of towels.  Lots of pool activities if you want to join.

Drinks are watered down but that is at every resort.  If you ask for a double, you will feel it :)  I often did a double with a shot on the side ( no judging please)

Reservations are made through the app.  We couldn't get anywhere the first night and went to Pier 8.  It was awesome.  Ate at Momo, Riviera Maya, brazilian steak house and Pier 8 again.  Food was good but not amazing.  That's all we have ever gotten at all inclusives.  Lunch and breakfast were great.  We ate at the pool most days.

Beach is what it is.  The trucks went by all day picking up as much seaweed as possible.  The water is brown and the sand is brown.  We swan in the water and it was great and refreshing.  We signed up to go to Beach palace for a day.  OMG...insane beach and water.  Very small and crowded.  Go up to the rooftop bar/pool.  It is empty and you will have your own bartender and chef.  Take an Uber...$20 each way.

We would absolutely come back to this resort.  The staff never stopped cleaning and working.  Everyone we met had worked there for 5-25 years.  Please give it a try and form your own opinion.

Low expectations...very surprised
