My cousin and I visited in June for 4 days and really enjoyed our time. They provided breakfast each morning and our server Luis was great. He was very kind and attentive which made experience enjoyable. The room was also very spacious and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely come back. The location was great as well. It was right next to the mall with access to a lot of shops and restaurants. They also had a shuttle to the beach club

Great Hotel!!

Please address this urgently! Do not waste your money at this hotel. The guest experience at Renaissance Cancun Resort & Marina is beyond horrible and a disgrace to the Marriott brand.

Just today, I was pursued in the elevator by someone from the front desk under the pretext that guests must register, even though I had my key card in hand and had already unlocked the elevator. I was forced to go to the front desk and provide an ID, which I didn't have on me because I had only gone downstairs for a coffee. They made me open my phone and find a copy of my ID and send it to a staff member.

Later the same day, the hotel charged $50 for any visitor to simply enter the hotel. No use of facilities, restaurant, or pool – just to enter the building.

I asked the reception for the manager's name or to speak with a manager, but they didn't even give me a name or put me in contact with the manager to resolve this. The customer service is atrocious.

This is shameful for the Marriott brand. Avoid this hotel at all costs to prevent a terrible experience.

Worst stay at a Marriott Property

A very smart modern hotel set in a new marina development. The staff extreemly friendly and the whole place has a nice ambience. There's a new shopping mall right next door which is good for restaurants and bars.

Our room on the ninth floor was facing the marina and was very clean and well-appointed. Best beds we have slept in for some time.

Breakfast was simply fabulous. Service was impeccable and the food amazing but if it had not been included in the price of the room I would not have paid the $37 yes $37 per person!!!

The hotel is very popular and at times can get very busy and noisy, especially at the weekends. Yachts anchor in the marina and party until the early hours and this can clearly be heard in the rooms.

The hotel is popular with Cabin Crew so be aware that they often arrive in a group and can take up space around the pool etc leaving little room for full paying guests - hotel might like to reconsider whether this is a good look for the place.

The small but very nice pool also gets noisy from the loud music they constantly play, plus the neighbouring restaurants and the yachts all palying loud music. I would suggest taking the free shuttle to the beach club which is not far and you can either relax by the ocean or lounge by the lovely pools.

I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to be in that area of town which is away from the hotel zone. Due to the noise, I would recommend taking a sea view room away from the commotion below.

New hotel has some faults but I liked.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the “new Cancun” area, adjacent to a shopping mall with stunning views of the marina. The views are truly breathtaking and do not disappoint. There is evening entertainment in the lobby for those who prefer to stay in and relax. My husband and son thoroughly enjoyed the infinity pool while I savored delicious food from the bar. It was a wonderful evening for all of us. The best beds we’ve slept in!

Beauty and comfort!

Great service, beautiful hotel, good size rooms. Worth every penny. I ended up there by accident and now is my go-to place for business in Cancun. Right next to a high-end shopping mall with some of the best restaurants in the city plus walking distance to other smaller restaurant alternatives, makes it very convenient.

The Renaissance Cancun Resort & Marina Hotel is located in Puerto Cancun, exclusive area at the beginning of the hotel zone, just ten minutes from down town and walking distance to the beach. This area is considered the new Cancun entertainment zone where you can find the Marina Town Center, the largest shopping center in cancun with 45,000 meters of surface which translates into more than 100 commercial and restaurants premises.The Marina and the golf course are the perfect option for the traveler looking for different experiences.
