Beach

The property has everything you need. Bars and restaurants. Variety of foods for all. Beach and pools near by. Small walk through the property jungle. Local jungle animals. Staff are very polite and accommodating. Pool and evening entertainment. Would recommend.

Iberostar Seacret

The resort was amazing! Check in was quick. Open  When we arrived we saw the wild monkeys hanging out in the trees and tons of animals freely roaming around. 

The iberostar Tucan and Quetztal share the same property and amenities. They have different rooms and lobby’s. The resort is jungle/ ancient ruins themed. I had read some reviews saying the rooms are outdated. They are not. The rooms give off Mayan ruin vibe/theme. It was not as crowded as I thought it would be. Lots and lots of shade/Trees. The walk from the  rooms to the pool is through a forest with animals. It’s truly amazing. 

Hotel is located in Playa car which is a gated community. There is a little fancy market with local shops and bars. It was a 5 min walk. I highly recommend going there. There is also shopping at 5th ave which was 10 mins away and is a 10-15$ taxi ride. It’s really nice with tons and tons of shopping and fancy restaurants. Nice shops mixed with local shops. You can pet tigers for 200$ usd! 

Download the iberostar app before arriving. There are 6 restaurants. We ate at the buffet for breakfast and dinner. It was really good! The workers and chefs really care about Presentation and quality of food. Food was Great for being a buffet. Lots and lots of food options. They always had a tequila bar and great mixed drinks

The bar drinks were good. The mojito was really good! They have wild turkey, Jim bean, Bacardi and other nice liquor 

Pool- the pool is Huge! There is zero entry by the beach and that’s where a lot of little kids played and they had two bars outside the pool. They had pool entertainment which was great and a foam party. There is a grab and go station with hamburgers and hot dogs plus fresh fruit next to the pool/beach. There is also a nice buffet. They also have waiters that bring drinks while you’re sitting in your chair. There is also an ice cream stand with free ice cream from 11-3pm everyday! It was refreshing and kids/adults loved it!!!everyone ate ice cream

Chairs- yes the towel game existed on some days, but only if you went to the pool after 10am.. I read reviews saying you had to be at the pool by 6am to 7am to get a spot which is not true!!! One day we arrived at the pool at 10am and there was limited chairs closer towards the beach however further back in the pool area there was chairs. 

Beach! Beach was beautiful. There was a tiny tiny bit of seaweed and the resort cleans any up that washes a shore. Beach was not too crowded. There are beach chairs and nice umbrellas however the beach chairs can fill up quick. 

Pool bar! *** there are bars around the pool. there is one swim up bar but it’s segregated from the beach/pool It’s also adults only which was kind of lame. It gives off a really cool vibe tho! 

Kids pool! Amazing for little kids. There are chairs in the shade for adults. They also have a snack bar for the kids some days and waiters to bring drinks[some days]

Recommendations! I loved the animals and that is why I choose this resort however the peacocks and local birds can be loud throughout the night. I would not let this detour you from booking this resort. I stayed at an Airbnb for night in Cozumel and the nature was loud as well. The pool bar/area should allow kids with an adult. My kids are well diversified but I wanted to have a little fun and chat with other adults while having a drink! Overall I would highly recommend this place!

Amazing! Highly recommend!

I visited this resort in June 2024.  There were 9 of us in 5 rooms.  

Pros:  
1.  The resort is beautiful and clean.  The atmosphere in the jungle is unique.  
2.  Spa services were excellent.  I visited twice and both times the massages by Yesenia were amazing.  
3.  Enjoyed the hibachi restaurant and tacos on the beach (get there early - they will not last long and they don't make more).  
4.  Shows and activities on the beach were lots of fun.  
5.  Drinks were great. 

Cons:
1.  I had to switch rooms at midnight the second night of the stay.  I killed 30+ fire ants throughout the room within 10 minutes.  They were everywhere - floor, walls, bathroom and in the bed.  
2.  The new room flooded.  I got out of bed and stepped in water.  The entire room (bedroom, sitting area, bathroom) had an inch of standing water.  There was a torrential downpour, and I was told that I was not the only guest that had flooded.  I am still not sure how the water got in because I was on the second floor.  My clothes and items were soaked.  They did offer to clean the clothes, but I passed.  They had two employees that came in with squeegees and mops.  They spent 30 minutes cleaning it up.   
3.  The temperature in the room was set to 22 and because of the humidity it feels hot and wet in the room.  We had to request 3 times (per room) for the temperature to be adjusted - each time being told it was looked at and being taken care of. 
4.  Had to request additional bedding for the sofa three times before receiving it. 
5.  Steam room in the spa was broken.
6.  Hair dryer in room was broken.  
7.  The Italian restaurant was so small that we weren't able to get in to dine.  We attempted numerous times.  I suggest putting that restaurant on a reservation system.  
8.  Dirty Band-Aid in shower on the first day.  
9.  No hot water in any of the 5 rooms one morning. 
10.  No electricity for 30-45 minutes one morning. 
11. Outside of the tacos and hibachi restaurant - the food was pretty marginal.  

I understand that some of these items are out of the control of the resort, and I am not normally one to complain but it just kept compounding.  After the flood in the room, I requested to speak to the manager.  The manager offered to discount one of my massages by 50%.  My party spent approximately $12K for 5 nights.  These issues should not happen at a resort that you are paying that much for and although I appreciated the discount - not compensatory for the headaches that we had to deal with.  We won't be returning.

Not a great experience!

Day 1. We just checked in. We have the reservation email direct from Iberostar Resort stating our cost is $2860.80.
The hotel is now charging us $3616.00. 
We have spoken to front desk and was told the office was closed and couldn’t help us. We will try again tomorrow.
That’s a $955 difference.

Overcharge by almost a $1000 upon check in.

we lived in the hotel for 14 days. Let's start in order. We flew for 10 hours, then waited for the transfer, finally we got to the hotel. We expected a joyful meeting, but alas we were greeted very coldly and we had to stand at the reception desk for 20 minutes to be accepted. Then we They said that we had to wait for the suitcase because the person was not there. We, tired, took the suitcase ourselves and carried it to the room. Complete disappointment awaited us in the room. An old, smelly room. The room stank of dampness and sewage. Everything was old and unpleasant, starting from the furniture and ending with towels. We asked to change the room, to which they agreed, but with an additional payment of 35 euros. This is the first time we have heard this, we have repeatedly vacationed in iberostar hotels. Everything is outdated, the guys on the street have been on the street for 24 years!!!!! Renovate the hotel, you are behind. there are no basic sockets, 1 per room, to charge the phone. Terrible internet. Towels, this is a separate issue, we have better ones lying around in trash bins. Gray, washed out. On the beaches, almost all the sun loungers are broken or close to it. There is never any in the bar on the beach champagne. Although I would like to note that the alcohol in the hotel is of poor quality, everything is very cheap. the holiday was ruined, of course we will not return and do not recommend it, there are much better hotels nearby.
