Amazing atmosphere, never run out of anything❤️Your requests are respected immediately.  Yes, this is not the newest, modest resort but you will get everything you need, clean, bugs free and the beach the best! No complain at all! Great, thanks 👏

You can't really fault anything. Although the food was better in the Dominican Republic at Riu Republica. And the weather could be better, alternating between sun and rain, and sometimes just rain. I didn't expect such weather.

nice stay

We were family of three and stayed in one room.  We had 2 double beds and a comfortable single bed.  Lots of cupboard space with hangers as well as drawers.  Shower door was glass but had a shower curtain over it so you could shower in peace.  We requested a third chair for balcony.  We tried to request through the app but found it easier to speak to customer services.  Sometimes English is not the best for some employees, no issues and easily sorted.  Rooms always cleaned well and at a good time, replenished as required and lots of towel art left.  Food was fine and our favourite was between Italian and steakhouse.  Lunches were very good with us using the buffet and Pepes.  Entertainment staff were very good.  The Friday night parties are fun but some of the music is certainly for the younger ones 🤣.  The whole place was very clean and a lot of staff involved with this.  We sadly saw one medical emergency and was very impressed with all the employees who very quickly helped out and we saw the poor person being taken away by a doctor and paramedics.  The hotel has obviously got a well rehearsed plan that worked very fast and well. The animals roaming around are great to see. The football on the big screens was an added bonus.  Overall a brilliant holiday, enjoyed by the whole family

The Riu Yucatan is an amazing, beautiful hotel the staff are great they’re fun and always ready to help and the food is delicious so much to choose from and the animals are Fantastic to watch definitely go back!!!

AMAZING!!

Just returned from the Riu Yucatan and the holiday blues are already kicking in!.  Our stay was amazing right from check in to check out.  Re the rooms a little dated? Yes.  Are there some repairs needed? Yes, however, this is soon forgotten when you see the beautiful grounds and interact with the most amazing staff.

During the power cut in the area the hotel did it’s best to accommodate their guests.  During our stay we had an issue with dirty water in our room, this was rectified within the hour.  A fault with our door due to the heat (we got use to it) was fixed, a new room was offered but we didn’t want or need one.  The hotels response to issues was efficient and timely (the sign of a fab hotel when things do go wrong!).

During heavy rain the entertainment team did a fabulous job of keeping guests happy and entertained with games in the lobby, always with a smile on their faces.  Cleaners here made sure guests were safe and worked their socks off mopping and cleaning the floor.  

Juan, Fur and Alex in the lobby bar were fabulous, not to mention Betty and her “see you later alligator” with a friendly and cheerful smile.  The vibe and feel of the hotel is what stands out (compared to that of the RP RM), it is friendly and fun and the energy is positive. 

Zakey, Alvaro, Miguel and Manual at the pool/beach bar always poured us a cold beer with a friendly smile and chirpy hello. 

Hands down the stars of the show are Ismail, Christian, Felix, Omar and Chavez at the entertainment bar in the evenings, they all made our evenings a pleasure and so much fun with everyone laughing and interacting together.  Felix’s smile is just infectious, it cheers you up the minute you see it and straight away your mood is jovial and relaxed – you guys are amazing!

Housekeeper Dulce kept our room spotless with cute towel art, all other interactions were pleasant with a “Buenos dias” from everyone we saw.  

Yes renovations are needed but please don’t lose the shape of the pool, the fun vibe and the amazing staff!!!.  See you in November!
