Wonderful location for a couples getaway. Delicious food, wonderful service, great amenities and location, fun activities and variety, 24-hour room service, and excellent quality in all areas of the resort.

Excellent All-Inclusive Resort

Beautiful beach, mostly delicious food, and wonderful drinks were part of this quaint resort! The beach was soft, calm, and seaweed free all week. All restaurants except Spices and The Grille were excellent, especially the mussels! The staff were all very attentive! The rooms are in need of a serious deep clean and renovation! If you're looking for a luxurious, updated resort room, this is probably not the resort for you. If you are ok with a mediocre room that would be more along the lines of a Courtyard hotel (or maybe a little less), but want amazing food, drinks, and beach, then you'll be fine! The entertainment is lacking, as they have a beautiful theater that isn't utilized or advertised. Everything is crammed into their small bar area that only has one bartender and ends up being so hot and loud it's not enjoyable. Would I return? More than likely, not. I would rather spend the same amount of money and feel like I'm in paradise, not only on the beach, at the bars, and in the restaurants, but also when I step into my room at night. I just didn't have that feeling. 

So-So Stay in Paradise

 We wanted to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary in a very special way and the Royal Hideaway Playacar provided just that. It is a special property which is both elegant and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained while the layout makes the walk around the site feel like a walk in the park. Amenities are spot on and well situated. The dining facilities are spectacular and only outdone by the quality and presentation of the food itself. The most impressive aspect for us, though was the friendliness, professionalism and charm of every staff member from guest services right through to the maintenance people. The attention we were given by hosts, hostesses, servers, bartenders (really all the other resort staff as well)could not have been any better. In particular our concierge Mario (Inistre Villa) made our stay special by his commitment to seeing that we had the best experience possible, going out of his way to make sure we wanted for nothing. We have traveled for many years to many locations, both resorts and cruising, and can say we have never had a better experience and will recommend Royal Hideaway Playacar to everyone until they are tired of listening to us. We have never repeated a travel experience but will return here.

A most amazing experience.

Another fabulous visit to our home in Playa,number  84 and counting!!!As we arrived, we were welcomed home by the fabulous bell staff. 
We  enjoyed four glorious weeks at our home in Playa, with phenomenal service, incredibly magnificent weather and wonderful cuisine.
The service remains outstanding with staff anticipating the needs of guests prior to their requests. 
The pool entertainment/ concierge staff make every effort to insure each guest’s comfort and enjoyment. I celebrated my birthday at our home and was very pampered and spoiled. Claudio, the entertainment manager provided fabulous saxophonists/ violinists to entertain around the pool. What a fantastic treat! 
Of course, Carlos/ Charlie is the ultimate water aerobics instructor, with his fabulous dance moves , kindness  and attention to detail.
The culinary options remain very varied and tasty , with Chefs Miguel, Rudolf, Benito , Chi and Victor , insuring the quality and excellent flavors of each dining experience.
The heart of the day is spent around the pool/ beach and the very dedicated , extremely talented and efficient waitstaff  insure your beverage of choice/ snack /lunch will be brought directly to your lounge chair at the pool or beach. Thank you, Javier, Genaro, Luis, Eduardo and Jorge for all you do for us and for each guest. They make up the Dream team. 
Samuel at the Deck consistently insures that service at each table is par excellence, while insuring that the lunch/ breakfast experience is tailored to each guest’s preferences.
The evening dining options, Palazzo,Ventanas, Azia, The Grill and Spices offer delectable menu options to satisfy the palate of each guest. 
Carlos at Ventanas, and Adriana at Palazzo, deserve super positive recognition for their excellent managerial skills and attention to the needs of each guest. 
Niko Gonzalez is a master waiter in Ventanas , whose skills could place him in any 5 star restaurant throughout the world. 
Eduardo in Palazzo and Ricardo in Azia,serve with graciousness, knowledge and true professionalism. Each of these gentlemen, insure that dining is a wonderful  evening experience.Luis Nieto is now the Bar Manager, and assures that your libation is always on hand; however, our admiration and love for him, is due to his genuine heartfelt caring for each guest .
The primary evening entertainment takes place in either Club Royale( the theater) or at Bar Allegria, and offers, karaoke, Mariachi,jazz, Mexican show, saxophone players, violinists, singers, silent disco etc. . We participate in most , and truly enjoy each evening. Don’t miss enjoying a drink , pre or post dinner, at Ventanas, where Tony the pianist will tickle the black baby grand as you leisurely enjoy and chat with new or old friends. 
Don’t forget to stop by the shops in the lobby and say hi to Daryo, who has the gift / jewelry shop. He has been there for many years and is a man of true integrity.
We were very well taken care of by our concierge Maria and housekeeper Adriana, who both saw to it that our home in Playa was well attended.
Recognition also goes out to concierge Ricky, who also popped by our lounge chairs,  daily to insure that our needs were always met. We also want to extend our gratitude to Sandra Gonzalez, who worked diligently to address concerns that have since been corrected. 
We are very much looking forward to our 85 th visit  to our home, where we will enjoy time with so many friends whom  we have met, over the years from all over the world, and to enjoy the time with our Royal Hideaway family.We hope to see you there!

Outstanding. Excellent. Playacar Royal Hideaway s a paradise in itself. Location is awesome, walking distance to shopping and dining at 5th Avenue, walking distance to Bird Sanctuary and to the famous Parque Los Fundadores at 10th Avenue.
