Pool

This resort was wonderful with clean accommodations and kind, helpful staff. We got one of the swim out suites but decided (for us) it may have not have been worth the upgrade. In the past we have gotten swim outs and they lead to the larger pool or easy access to the staff. Here (we had tropical view) it wasn’t as easy to get service as it was a bit hidden away and it didn’t lead anywhere so you had to get in and out and you could go through your room to get to the big pool. Definitely a plus to have the swim out but I prefer ones with easier access to other areas.

Great place for some time away and everything is taken care of for you!

We had a nice relaxing stay at Secrets with family and friends.  Our room was clean and air conditioning was excellent!  We enjoyed Steven from the event staff, especially water aerobics and bingo.  Food was good, we especially liked Rosewater, Mexican and hibachi.  All of the restaurant servers were excellent.  We also appreciated the bar/server staff at Secrets.  Urbano would come out to the beach often to check on us.  We also loved The Nook!  Great cappuccinos, Frappuccinos and carrot cake!   
The only disappointment was the beach.  Very limited area to walk, but the staff did a nice job in cleaning up seaweed and keeping our area maintained.

Relaxing stay at Secrets

We had the best time at Secrets Riviera Cancun. The staff was incredible, no matter what time of day. 
Stephen, Cruz, Uberto, Bailey and Edwin all made our pool experience 10/10. 
The Spa was indescribable. Best massage ever. Rosewater was consistently great with food and drinks. 
Beach area was well kept. 
Shows were so much fun- we did the Cabaret and the Queen Tribute. 
Couldn’t recommend the resort more!

Amazing Experience

Let me preface this by saying, the staff was great! Friendly, courteous, did their jobs well, etc. With that being said...

Upon arrival, we were taken to our room (room 1107). This room was at the end of the resort--oceanfront with a swim out pool. We splurged for our anniversary! We arrived right after a tropical storm had blown through, so a few things being out of order are understandable. However, what we experienced had nothing to do with the storm.

First, our swim out pool had scaffolding being built RIGHT BESIDE US so they could begin construction on other units. To our left was 2 stories of scaffolding with workers in the water, on the scaffolding, and walking back and forth in front of our pool from morning until night--EVERY DAY! To our right, there was MAJOR construction going on at the neighboring resort that looked abandoned. Sandlblasting, loud machinery, jack hammers, etc--all day, every day! Righ in front of our pool stood some kind of security or someone whom I suppose was in charge of all the worker from the resort. He literally stood outside our pool all day, every day! Neither of us EVER--NOT EVEN ONCE got in our swim out pool. What a waste of money. They also had stuff stored in front of our room-- a pirate ship, a catamaran, and anything else that didn't have a home" was all piled in front of our pool.

Next, I asked to be moved to another room and was told they had no vacancies. I even asked for a downgrade or somewhat of a refund which I was abruptly told they don't do that. I will say, Stef tried to help us, but she had to keep going to her manager and reporting back to us. No one except Stef even checked up on us to see how things were going. 

Lastly, the beach was such a disappointment! I'm a beach dweller--I love the beach! I laid on the beach on the first day for about 2 hours. That was it! The water was brown, mirky, dirty and not at all swimmable. Some of this may have been due to the storm, but it never cleared up the whole week. All the pictures they advertise have the crystal, turqouise blue water images! Do your homework! We didn't get to snorkel, swim, nothing! On the last day, some friends of ours were going to try to snorkel. They got to knee deep water and were whistled back in by the lifeguard becasue of saltwater crocodiles in the water!!! Yes, you read that right! 

This was our most expensive vacation and our least favorite. We have been to 4 other all inclusive resorts and this was BY FAR, the worst!

Had a great time at this Secrets location. The resort is split between the “preferred” Secrets side and the general Breathless side. Secrets was definitely a more relaxing and calm vibe that fit our style. 

The staff was all very friendly and always helpful. The comforts of the Secrets side were welcomed. 

Steven C. did a great job as the Entertainment Director for our side! 

If you are not already aware, do not let anyone convince you to “visit another resort” in exchange for “90 minutes”. This is a 4 hour experience trying to sell a $100K+ Vacation Club membership. 

I do wish they had more shows in the evening. I have also stayed at other resorts that once or twice a week allow vendors to set up in one area of the resort for guests to shop without leaving the grounds.

The prices in the hotel shop were an absolute joke. Thankfully we did not run out of sunscreen, but had we, we would have paid $35 for a bottle that costs $6 at Target.

Would recommend to couples looking to relax
