Pool

Visited with 4 couples and we all enjoyed our 10 days. Rooms have aged and the Resort is closing in the next months for a major renovation which is certainly due. We were happy with our rooms as we upgraded to Villas which were beautiful. Large rooms, big bathrooms, 2 showers (one inside,one outside), beautiful pool for your own use, nice sun loungers, outdoor dining, live fish pond and all enclosed and private. We had Yudi as our Butler who made our stay even better. He arranged everything from restaurant bookings to taxis etc and checked in everyday to see if he could be of assistance. 
We ate at all the in-house restaurants and found the quality of the service and food excellent. Our favorite was the Japanese!! But all the others were great. We had Level privileges so it was all inclusive. The Level Pool area was excellent run by a team of great staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Over all, a great experience all round, the place was very full but the service and quality was superb. 
Yudi and the team. Including our villa housekeepers, Sumerta, Sandi, Wes, Adi, Ariawan, and Mayun, and also Karin in the breakfast room who amongst many others contributed to a beautiful stay. Thanks so much for a wonderful time. Can’t wait to come back after the renovation!!!

A Wonderful Experience

We are a family of 5 (kids 4, 8, 10) and spent 10nights on an all inclusive package plus Level access in mid June 2024. We were blown away with the service and care that staff at all points of the resort took to look after us and to ensure our needs were alway met to the highest standard. They got to know us and our kids personally and we were so reassured knowing that wherever we ventured, our kids had a watching eye as they roamed the many and varied offerings at Melia Bali. 
While the rooms were somewhat dated(renovation happening Oct ‘24’), the remainder of the property was superb. The grounds are expansive and immaculate and provide a feeling of spaciousness while offering neat private seatings, cabanas, seats and places to catch a private moment in amongst it all. 
The pool area was busy and full of families and kids but still comfortable and provided a number of positions for privacy, shade, sun, etc with service buttons at all seating and attentive staff always looking to help. 
The activities on offer for both juniors and adults in and around the pool were regular, good fun and recommended. 
We had the ‘Level’ upgrade, which entitled us to a more private (adult only) pool area that was such a quiet space away from the main pool area with dedicated ‘Level’ staff that truly took care of us. This extended to a ‘level’ only beach area as well (adults only & family) both providing luxurious beach cabanas with soft beds & pillows and serviced by the ‘Level’ staff, Resti, Pringgia, Juli, Arta and Darma. These guys were exceptional. They knew us by name, our drink preferences and took such amazing care to meet our needs with cold towels in the afternoons, sunglasses cleaning and regular fresh juice, we felt completely spoilt. We really hope they are all still around when we return after the renovation next year. 

Food throughout was fantastic, but booking into the restaurants (Sakura, Sorrento, Lotus & Sateria beach side deck) is a must at least a day or two out, especially if you are a larger party. 
Sakura is some of the best Japanese I have had(have been to Japan) and Sorrento offered excellent Mediterranean options as a nice change from Asian food. Lotus was our least favourite, however had some solid options such as a delicious Nasi Goring and the pastry dessert IMO, was the best in the resort. 
We fed our kids at the buffet most nights as it was open early and provided the most flexible options for all. Breakfasts were always great and you could choose between the buffet or a-la-carte, ordering from the menu. 
The coffee shop was the best spot for coffee and we found that as non diary drinkers, oat lattes were the least sweet and most like the quality coffee at home. Ayu and the staff at Kopi Pertani were always great and nothing was an issue. Highly recommend the coconut milk iced latte. 
Causal evening dinners with the kids at Sateria were also fun with live music most nights to dance to and an ice cream cart right next to the stage. If you want to eat on the deck overlooking the beach, booking is a must. 
We were on the all inclusive package which made it so easy and such a relaxed way to holiday - Would highly recommend. 

The kids club was best suited to younger age kids with plenty of daycare/kinder style activities that kept out 4.5yo and her younger cousins happy and occupied. Our 2 older boys (8,10) seldom engaged with their activities due to age suitability to them. A more engaging second movie facility with a larger screen and better sound for older kid evening movies would help to engage the older kids in the evening movie routine and provide parents with that much enjoyed quiet evening meal. 
This gap in the activity/play offerings for older 5-12yo at the kids club will potentially be rectified in the renovation with the addition of park/play equipment and more interactive pool environments. 
Overall the kids club experience was excellent and the staff were brilliant. 
Overall we had the best time. The resort was 3/4 full during our stay (approx 850 guest) but didn’t feel overly crowded or overwhelming. The attention to detail through the property was impressive and this extended to the way we were treated by all staff.

Superb family holiday at the Melia Bali

The food was amazing and the service from all staff was friendly, and prompt. The range of activities on offer for my family was perfect. In particular the breakfast staff at El Patio were a wonderful start to each day. Nisa and Dina provided exceptional service and we felt like old friends by the end of our stay.

Amazing

As with most 5 star resorts it can feel a little like you could be anywhere in the world
However they do their best to add the Balinese touch with traditional uniform, themed gardens and restaurant as well as (highly recommended) Balinese wellness activities 
My daughter and I took part in Batik making and penjor making workshops run by Made. He is so kind and patient! I highly recommend doing at least one of his activities during your stay
The rooms are a tad dated and the bathrooms really do need a refurb but the hotel know this and have a refurb planned….-and this doesn’t take away from

The gardens at this hotel are stunning, the pool is lovely and the beach is gorgeous too.
Overall a great stay for our first few nights in Bali

Lovely resort

Positives:
-The staff are great, always smiling and happy to help.
-The Room, a little small but was very comfortable and had all the amenities that you 
 would expect from a hotel of this standard (stayed in the Premium Garden View 
 Room - B&B).
-House keeping was excellent.
-Breakfast has an excellent verity and the food was lovely.
-The pool area and the beach are very well kept, indeed the hotel and the 
 surrounding area itself is very clean. We spent most of the week either at the pool or 
 on the beach with our son.

Negative:
As mentioned above the breakfast was lovely, however, due to the size and the number of guest at the hotel, was sometimes a little chaotic. On one of the days we asked for 2 Cappuccinos, after waiting about 15 min, we asked again, than asked for a third time. Finally we gave up and just asked for 2 coffees, again only 1 was brought to the table.

I dont really blame the staff as I think they do the best that they can given the number of people they have to cater to. I think things could probably be a little more organized to help the staff.

Would I stay here again? For sure. The positives far outweigh any negatives and I would recommend to any one heading to Nusa Dua and is looking for a resort hotel.
