Not a great hotel- definitely over priced for what you get.  There is a huge list of issues in this hotel- I’m usually very positive and optimistic at places but by the end I had lost any sense of optimism!

The bedroom has dripping air con, all the walls were filthy, the bath outside had built up limescale. Cracks everywhere and the bath mats had stains on them. The French door was impossible to open and close, pretty sure it was broken.

Downstairs in the public toilets it was filthy and someone had left used underwear for a while and while these things do happen it seemed symptomatic of them never checking the toilets etc.

The staff were sweet and the location was good. But other than this avoid unless you want to go to a hotel that was luxury in the 1970s but hasn’t been touched since.

Terrible hotel- not worth the money

This hotel is dirty and many things are broken. Pool spa jets ( none work) and broken pool lounges. Broken tiles and bricks and deck. Rooms look good in photos but are old and smell mouldy. Doors to balcony to hard to open. Wood work in rooms damp and old and cheap toiletries in bathroom.
Nice staff and big rooms. Hotel needs a lot of fixing.

Old and run down

Location location!  Situated right on the beach with wonderful views from everywhere.  Huge rooms.  We had beach view room.  Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble - they want you to have a great time.  Free yoga onsite twice a week which was amazing.  Also they do a cultural experience explaining the offerings which was so interesting-wonderful to learn about their culture.  Very walkable to get around and explore or just chill at resort with everything you need there. Couple notes: bathroom is open and air con works but also drips due to humidity - just need to work out temp to ensure best. Would definitely stay again

Location Location - on the beach for sunsets galore

17 nights , 1 to go .... we booked a month in Bali .  Our second destination was Grand Seminyak , thankfully an improvement on the 1st . Staff rating 10/10 service 10/10 cleanliness 10/10 accomodation (ocean front facing suite ) superb 9/10 as the fridge wasn't cold ... in a hot climate the drinks were tepid out of the fridge . Room service 8/10 twice the order wasn't received .  Overall the location is excellent, the restaurants onsite excellent, all but one meal we ate in the resort . Drinks , food , good selection and quality.  The only suggestions we can make is to add air conditioning in the lift ( very humid ) , add cold new fridges to the rooms and perhaps its time to renew towels and beach towels , they are starting to age . Supplying a clothes hanger on the balconies would also be beneficial . One more amended issue would be to activate the spa jets on the swimming pool .... never worked from the time we arrived to the time we left .
We spent a fair bit of money in the accomodation and both of us were happy with the accomodation and the restful break here was something we'd definitely revisit again .

Bali for a month

Foreword - The day after we had to leave the hotel, I reached out to the GM on LinkedIn the next day as the staff was not willing to make me speak to him. He sent me his contact details and we spoke at length and he apologised for the staff’s mishandling of the situation and offered to rectify the situation but there was no way for me to go back as it was too late and I had already shifted to another place. And more than that, the entire episode  was extremely harrowing as we had reached Grand Seminyak in the evening and had to check out within a couple of hours. 

I did mention to him that I will be posting a review of our experience. 

Posting my review for future travellers so that they can make up their own mind.

Probably the worst hotel l have seen in my life and the only thing worse was the staff and their attitude.

We had booked 2 Grand Seminyak Suites and the rooms they gave us had ZERO privacy. One of the hotel stairwells was overlooking both rooms and the only way we would've had privacy is if we had kept our curtains shut throughout the stay! So no natural light either!

The rooms had an outdoor jacuzzi in the balcony in full view of the staircase and corridors. Again zero privacy.

When this was pointed out to the front office staff, we were told that we were most welcome to check out! I asked for an alternate room and they said none were available. We asked for the GM but they said he’d left for the day and wasn’t reachable/ answering his phone. 

The Duty Manager Ms. Ni Luh Dian Darmayani came out to talk - untrained and condescending she flat out refused to give us an alternate room saying the hotel was fully booked. 

Once we said we'd check out, two rooms suddenly became available which were even worse than the first as they were on the lowest level of the hotel - one was right below one of the earlier ones and the second was also at the lowest level with stairs in front leading to the pool. This level is below the Front office level. When we refused those rooms, she relented and said over the next few days she'd give us rooms with more privacy.

What finally made us check out was the cleanliness and their reaction to it. We entered the rooms and we saw frayed pillow covers, stained sheets and one of the rooms had a used razor (with hair stuck) in the bathroom, we went back to the Front Office to speak to Ms. Darmayani, the Assistant Manager Gisin said she had left and he'd need to see for himself and take a photo. 

By that time we’d had enough, and spoke to Agoda and explained the situation to them and checked out of the hotel at 8 pm which was within 2 hours of checking in! 

Dee at Agoda was phenomenal. She understood the situation and immediately spoke to the hotel and offered us a full refund. 

The staff attitude at the hotel is the WORST I have come across and I think this place needs to be avoided, till they can just train the entire team properly.

We have stayed at innumerable hotels across the world and I have never faced a situation like this where the staff was encouraging a check out! They probably felt we would've not done so at 8 pm in a foreign country or found a place to stay. 

It was difficult but we found an alternate place to stay by 945 pm.
