Kata Palm Resort and Spa Hero

Excellent place. I would recommend to anyone. Services are the highest quality. We chose this place because we were looking for a authentic Thai place and this meets our expectations. The people working for the hotel are so nice, so pleasant, so respectful. We had breakfast only and was just what we needed. Once more I would recommend this place.

Our once in a life experience ❤️

Amazing hotel friendly staff nothing too much trouble.  Surroundings of hotel really pretty and tropical. 3 pools 2 with swim up bars and 1 roof top. Restaurant on site 12 til 5pm serving a wide variety of food at great prices.  Pool bars serve lovely milkshakes and smoothies as well as cocktails. Breakfast was included and a good selection available. 
Rooms large and clean mini bar providing cold drinks as well as drinking water provided daily free of charge.  Rooms made up daily fresh towels provided white for the room red to take the pool. Great walk in shower. Lots of plug sockets.
Location perfect 5 min walk to the beach shops and restaurants along the way. Famous 7 Eleven 5 min walk for all snacks and drinks. 
Taxis and tuk Tuks outside hotel.

Great holiday

After a very long journey, a warm welcome would have been nice. We didn't get one.   A credit card was demanded and we were taken to our room. We had booked months earlier and paid in full, our only request being that our pool access room was in a sunny position.  İt wasn't. Our room was in a dark corner that attracted hoardes of mosquitos and only had half the width of the other pool access rooms. Being in a corner, it also attracted all the floating detritus which collected outside our room. We had, at most, 1 hour of sun a day and that was only partially sunny because of the block of rooms in front of us.
The room itself was ok. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were awful. Despite tipping the cleaner a lot, on a regular basis, our room was never cleaned properly. Under the bed was filthy and the floor was permanently gritty. The bath was dirty from our arrival and until we left was not cleaned.  The towels were not white and fluffy, they were thin, old and way past their best. Sometimes we had face cloths, mainly we didn't. The provided toiletries were good, although there was nowhere but the floor to put them in the shower. A shelf would have been useful. Also the shower was fixed very high, not ideal if you are less than 5 feet 5 inches.  There was plentiful hot water and good water pressure. 
We had to hide the glass bottles of water in our room occasionally as if you didn't use them, they were not replaced and as tea drinkers, we would often run out of water. There were plastic bottles of water in the room to purchase, however it was cheaper in the shops outside.
We tried to keep our room mosquito free by keeping the doors closed, using the plug in repellent and covering ourselves in insect repellent, however, every day the cleaner wedged the doors open and consequently overnight we were bitten.
Breakfast was adequate but the staff  rarely smiled, didn't make eye contact and didn't speak.
As our flight home was late evening we tried, from arrival, to arrange late check out or to pay for the room for another night. The reception staff couldn't have been more unhelpful. They even suggested we do it ourselves and book online. We did try but as we were in Thailand the prices appeared to be special prices for Thai people only, so we gave up.  They were not even helpful when we asked if we could book a different room saying we could use the showers at the back of the pool restaurant.  
We spent our last day by the pool and early evening made our way to the showers, which transpired to be one shower, with no Aircon or fan. The room was horrendously hot, so after a tepid shower, as there was no hot water, we tried to dry ourselves and dress in our travelling clothes in a room that was well over 40 degrees.  This was a thoroughly unpleasant experience and not a nice end to our 2 week holiday.
On a plus point, the architecture is beautiful, as are the grounds. However, we will definitely not be going back as we have had much better experiences in other resorts. İ would like to add that working in service industries ourselves, we are always polite and cheerful.  The staff here would benefit from some customer relations training. 


Very disappointing long awaited holiday.

Incredible experience from start to finish. We stayed for two weeks and the standard of the hotel never dropped. Every single member of staff couldn’t have been more kind or helpful. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, it couldn’t have been nicer. Everything was spotless and the food/drinks in both the restaurant and pool bar were fabulous! Our room was everything we could have hoped for and more. I cannot stress enough how incredible the staff were, it really was a holiday of a lifetime.

Beautiful hotel and the service was 1st rate service.

The whole experience was easy going with out an issue .

The beach is about a 10 minute walk away but I would recommend you go in the morning or evening.

 As the heat can be too much during the midday.
