Beach

Great pools and private beach. Nice restaurants. Western prices but in a hotel like this you would expect it. Great base to visit both Hoi An and Da Nang though you need to get a Grab to both.

This was the only big chain hotel we stayed in and we really enjoyed it, though it feels a bit soulless and inauthentic. I guess it’s designed for westerners who want to feel they are still in the west.

Great staff who gave us good recommendations and took good care of us.

Private villa + pool/jacuzzi/fountain - kids love it! Elderly parents and us loved the privacy.

Good till something happens. Hotel manager is just keen to protect their reputation. Finding the root cause of the food poisoning so they can prevent future cases. What they do not understand is that all guests go on vacation to enjoy themselves, not to get sick. The worst was, it came from the hotel. They did apologise but were slow to react. They did not attempt to even call a car to send me to the hospital. They pushed me to go to a pharmacy to get medication.

For perspective, I spent 7 hours in the hospital. My blood test report looks bad. I was badly dehydrated and put on 2 packets of IV drip. Travelling to the hospital took 30min. I literally spent 8 hrs away from my family, leaving my 4 kids with my husband. The total medical bill was 5.8 million VND and the hotel did not reimburse me at all. The moment I got back from the hospital, they made me sit down to share what has happened and what food are the cause and highlighted no one was ill that day. What they did was extending late check out as I was stuck in the hospital. 

We spent 5D4N in the 3 bedroom villa. Everything was lovely till I felt unwell after my breakfast on the 4th day. It churned through the day. I could not eat anything as I was very unwell and nauseous. I finally vomited everything out that evening and the runs started. I had diarrhoea throughout the night. I could not sleep well. The toilet was huge and I literally sat on the toilet bowl through the night as the runs was so bad that it will just leak out. I tried taking medication I brought from home and it didn’t work. I was due to check out the next day and move on to Hoi A for another 5 days. I do not have medicine to last 5 days and asked the hotel where I could get more medicine. They told me to go to the pharmacy and get it. As the runs got worse, I asked them where can I find the hospital. They told me I just need to go to the pharmacy to find medication. I totally gave up communicating with them and sought help from my driver who was supposed to send my family to Hoi An that day. He immediately arranged for someone to pick me up from the hotel lobby while I called reception to send a buggy to my villa. 

When I reached the hotel lobby, then the hotel staff asked if I need a car to the hospital. I told them I have already arranged and my transport has already arrived. There was no follow up from the hotel and it was my driver who arranged pickup for me from the hospital and then pick up my family and luggage for us to move to the next hotel at night.

It shows me that Danang people can be nice and helpful. This hotel is too concerned about their reputation to do what is right to help their guests. They told me they will inform the next hotel, Renaissance Hoi An to take care of me as it’s their partner hotels within the same Marriott brand. But no, the hotel didn’t know we are checking late even. I just don’t like empty promises and words said to make themselves look helpful. 

It is not the first time we stay with Marriott group of hotels. We are always with the brand whichever country we visit. This level of service is definitely not what they are known for.

To be fair, my child had great fun at the kids club! The staff there are really kind and nice. The villa is huge and lovely. The beach is so nice and conducive for my kids to play. But the experience of falling sick due to hotel food is something no one wants to go through. Food poisoning doesn’t last a day. It takes time to recover. I had to be on plain porridge diet for the rest of the trip. The last place I would expect to get food poisoning was from the hotel restaurant.

Good till something bad happens.

My family of 7 stayed from 18/6 until 22/6 at Villa 26 and are absolutely astonished at the experience here. The receptionists, the attendants, the villa staff and the housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful, they took care of us so well. We have stayed at a lot of resorts as well as hotels but this place completely stood out, they welcomed us with spectacular amenities, services, and the staff's attitude toward us was tremendously fantastic! Overall, this is what makes Marriott a world-class chain with finest service and most considerate staff, what a team.

One of the most underrated resorts and teams ever!

Had a fabulous stay here ,the staff being one of the main reasons ,from the moment we arrived we were treated like we were one of there family .Nothing was to much trouble and all the staff were the same from the cleaners to the managers a great advert for Marriott .The hotel is ideal if you are looking for a beachside retreat lovely pool with plenty of sun beds . Breakfast was superb again staff trying so hard to please  a great start to the day .
We had such a great time here that we ended staying an extra 5 nights highly recommend.
