The hotel staff were amazing. Most helpful and friendly, and helped us to book transportation to marble mountain and Hoi An. Our room was spacious, comfortable and I loved the soaking tub. Laundry service was easy and affordable. Excellent location close to the beach My An. 
Breakfast was good. 
Close to coffee shop and we enjoyed a dinner at Langca restaurant. 
Highly recommend it. 
Not luxurious but excellent for an affordable stay.

Fantastic

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel and would highly recommend. It is so clean and the staff are very helpful. It’s located at the centre of Da Nang and looks out to the beach.

The breakfast was amazing and they even have a spa and pool upstairs. 

I would stay here again.

Great hotel.

Beautiful hotel with really wonderful staff. Location is excellent m- close to everything. Our  room was very clean and amenities were up to date. We loved the rooftop pool with a stunning view. Matteo was incredibly helpful and very attentive yo our needs. He often went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. 
We will definitely be back. Really enjoyed the nightlife here… don’t miss out. Close to many restaurants too.

Fantastic Hotel and staff

y experience at this hotel was a mixed bag, with various aspects leaving both positive and negative impressions.

Let's start with the positives. The staff members were undoubtedly the highlight of my stay. They were consistently attentive, friendly, and willing to assist with any inquiries or requests. However, it's worth noting that while some staff members spoke English proficiently, others struggled with the language, which could lead to communication challenges for some guests.

The rooms, though cozy, were adequately comfortable. The bed, in particular, offered a pleasant level of softness, although the pillows were a bit too soft for my liking. The walk-in shower was a standout feature, boasting excellent water pressure and a luxurious rainfall shower head. While the shower space was somewhat compact, it provided enough room for a comfortable experience.

In terms of amenities, the hotel provided ample sockets for electronic devices, although I did encounter a minor inconvenience with the kettle lead needing unwinding before use. The provision of instant coffee, green tea, and complimentary bottled water was appreciated, although the latter was not chilled. Additionally, the absence of a clock in the room was a notable oversight.

Daily room cleaning services were provided, including the refreshing of towels and replenishing of amenities. However, I did notice some cleanliness issues throughout the hotel, such as debris in the pool area and broken furniture. The maintenance of the facilities fell short of expectations for a purported four-star establishment.

When it came to dining at the hotel, my experiences were a bit of a mixed bag.

For breakfast, the buffet primarily featured Asian cuisine, with a limited selection for Western palates. While there was an egg station where eggs could be cooked to order and a few salad options available, those accustomed to a traditional Western breakfast spread might find the offerings lacking. However, the provided toaster, though basic, served its purpose adequately for those craving toast.

Moving on to lunch, I sampled a few options from the hotel's menu. The fish and chips, priced at 190k (just over £6), offered a satisfactory meal. Although I wasn't certain about the type of fish used (I believe it may have been Hoki), the combination of tempura batter and fish was quite enjoyable. However, the chicken and chips, priced at 220k (around £7), felt slightly overpriced for the portion size and quality, but was okay.

The most disappointing experience came with the pizza and fries. The pizza's toppings slid off easily, leading me to inquire whether it was a frozen pizza, to which I was informed that only the base was frozen. For a purported four-star hotel, I expected a fresher, more satisfying pizza experience. The price of 130k (£4) for a frozen base Margherita pizza seemed steep, especially considering the lacklustre quality. The accompanying fries, priced at 80k (£3), were unremarkable.
I was offered a complimentary meal ticket, but declined to take up the offer. The member of staff who served the meal was very apologetic.

Overall, while the dining options at the hotel provided some variety, they fell short of expectations in terms of quality and value for money. Guests with discerning palates may find themselves seeking out alternative dining options in the surrounding area for a more satisfying culinary experience.

The hotel's gym facilities were minimal, with limited equipment and no air conditioning. The rooftop pool and bar offered stunning views, but cleanliness issues and maintenance concerns detracted from the overall experience.

Certain guests behave as if they're in their own homes, often being loud, leaving their room doors ajar without consideration for fellow occupants of the hotel and allowing their children to play in the hallways.

It was concerning that they also seem to use the fire exit staircases as storage for room items (mattress, wardrobes, bed frame and workman's equipment) seen on two separate occasions. Fire exit staircases are an important safety feature of taller buildings (this one being 11 stories) and no items should be stored in these areas at any time. Even more importantly, flammable items should be no where near the fire exit staircases!

Location-wise, the hotel is conveniently situated near My Khe beach and provides easy access to the city via taxi.

Overall, while the staff members were commendable, the hotel's shortcomings in cleanliness, maintenance, safety and amenities left much to be desired. I would rate my experience at this hotel as 2.5 out of 5 and would recommend exploring alternative accommodations in the area for a more satisfying stay, unless room rate is your priority.

I would rate the hotel as a 2.8 star.

A hit and miss stay, spectacular views

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunny Ocean Hotel. The option of having a room big enough for a whole family was great. The rooms are spacious and cleaned satisfactorily. Beds and pillows are comfy. Sound proofing is good. Breakfast is pretty good. There is an egg station, toast, hot options, fried rice, fruit, yogurt, juice, tea (very weak), coffee (very strong). Location is great. On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights the bar directly next door to the hotel on street level has a fantastic band playing. Also, I recommend the short walk to the beach. Roads are easy enough to cross. The beach is lovely to swim in and safe. There is surf board/boogie board hire at the beach. I recommend the street food cart on beach front selling coconut iced coffee! Things for hotel to improve on: Hotel staff have very little English language. Our first room had a curtain so sheer the city light shone in all night so we had to change room. Hotel restaurant food is pretty bad! - top floor restaurant not buffet breakfast.
