Great location 50yds from the beach. Separated by a busy road but has multiple crossings & wasn’t a problem. We had a sea facing front room on the 3rd floor. Cost for this was a little extra but a panoramic sea / beach view we felt was worth it. The room was spacious, v large bathroom, fridge, safe, tv (uk terrestrial channels & some others) Complimentary boxed creams & lotions with welcome letter on the bed was a nice touch. Also complimentary juices in the fridge.
We were on a half board basis & the breakfast & evening meals were of a very high quality. The dining staff are all so friendly & efficient managed expertly by Juan, our waitress Yolanda is also worthy of a special mention.
The bar facilities are also of a very high standard. Skybar on the 7th floor for a tranquil drink amongst the water fountains for a relaxing drink with panoramic views over the resort. Entertainment is provided nightly which is well attended by the residents & is good quality singers, in particular “ Ricky Lavazza” & “Sweet Carmin” got the room rocking on their respective nights & are worth a watch. There is also a happy hour between 5 - 6pm where drinks are buy one get one free, this is also well attended & is good value. The bar staff & so energetic & fun in particular, Micaela & Asier who add to the entertainment. There are also numerous bars & restaurants in very close proximity should you want some variation.
The sunbed numbers are tight for the number of guests & there is some degree of early morning towel securing of beds (pool area doesn’t open until 9.00) but the waiters police this & they do remove towels when they observe this occurring.
The hotel is immaculately clean with rooms cleaned daily.
The local bus service has stops directly outside the hotel & bus to Malaga is v straightforward duration 1hr, cost €1.75 single fare, worth the trip. We also participated in a hotel excursion to Nerja & Frigiliana which we wouldn’t recommend. It involved 5hrs of coach travel for only 3.5 hrs of sightseeing. In addition if you chose to visit the caves at Nerja you only had 1.5hrs at Nerja. The hotel reception staff should have gave more clarity on this itinary.
The hotel is also sited close to a lovely picturesque park “Paloma Park” to the rear of the hotel that has a lake with ducks, turtles, parrots, walks, cafe, it is enchanting. We also walked along the beach front to Torremolinos which is a pleasant stroll, takes approximately 1 hr.
The location, staff, food & facilities made for this a great holiday.
Not stayed for Couple of years but was in the area last Friday so called in it is beautiful there was a young girl singing Emma Louisa she was fabulous and beautiful only to be told she was not on any more it was her last night she was made for this classy hotel
Just arrived back from hotel Las Arenas, travelled with my husband and 13 year old daughter. We had a brilliant stay 🤩 and could not fault it. We stayed in a premium room on the front it had an amazing view of the beach. Room was a good size, bright and clean, air con worked really well, bathroom nice and big. The beds were comfortable and plenty of space for all three of our clothes and cases without being cramped together. The hotel is right on the side of a busy road so you can hear the vehicles but that didn’t bother us. Room was cleaned everyday. We stayed half board and could not fault the food in fact we are very fussy but have all agreed breakfast and the evening meals were great. Drinks were reasonably priced for a hotel and the selection was brilliant the ice cream counter was great too! We also like a toastie now and then from the pool bar. As for the pool area it probably is too small for the size of the hotel with not enough sun beds. We never got up to que for a sun bed just got up at our normal time and still managed to get three, if you wanted to be in the sun all day though you would have to get up early I guess. Pool areas nice and very clean. All the staff in this hotel were great, lovely and welcoming especially the restaurant and bar staff. Entertainment that we seen was good we all loved the sky bar very comfortable chilled out vibes with amazing views. A good mixture of age groups but maybe a few more older people and couples with older children if your looking for somewhere with lots of kids entertainment this maybe wouldn’t be the best choice our daughter is passed that so enjoyed the relaxed vibe. Good location, beach straight across the road plenty of shops and bars around and a short walk to the marina with plenty of places to stop on the way and just a short transfer from the airport. We would definitely return.
Our suggestions would be if possible some more sun loungers although we know the space is limited, more labels on the food in the restaurant (although the staff do help if you ask) and some low music around the pool for the afternoon would be nice.
Here for a 4 night sunshine break just relaxing. Hotel spotlessly clean and breakfast excellent. Rooms clean, comfortable and air con is great.
Major sunbed sport on a morning. The sad folk reading this who queue from 0830 in the hotel bar area for a pool that opens at 0900 is laughable. “So, what did you do on holiday”. Reply “Oh I queued for sunbeds each morning.
Arguably the pool area is too small for the number of guests wanting to use it. But still, come on…queuing like that, really!
Anyways, in summary lovely hotel and yes we would stay again but as always I will never queue up for a sunbed.
Always love Hotel Las Arenas and will return again in March for the 5th time! It’s a fantastic hotel with professional and pleasant staff, the food is fabulous at both breakfast and evening dinner. As a coeliac I make my dietary restrictions known to both waiters and chefs and all gluten free options available at the breakfast and dinner buffet are highlighted to me. I even had specially cooked omelette at breakfast and brought to my table! The pool area is spotlessly clean and sunbeds available. Towels are available in your room for use at the pool. Rooms are clean and spacious and comfortable. I keep returning to this hotel due to positive experiences and great hospitality.
