Pool

Location I found to be ideal. Few minutes from
the beach and bars and not too busy. Admittedly there is a steep hill as others have said but it only takes a few minutes and there is also another road which isn’t quite so steep you can use if you prefer. The hotel and rooms were well maintained and clean. The only noise in the room was inconsiderate guests walking past late at night and this only happened once for us. The pool area was lovely and spacious with reasonably priced drinks from the bar. The restaurant has an excellent selection of food that covered everyone’s dietary requirements.  The only downside I could find was no evening entertainment but that was probably reflected in the price we paid as it was extremely reasonable.

Great hotel

The staff were friendly and good in all parts of the hotel.  Pools were clean and plenty of sun beds whenever we went to use them. The area around the pools could have done with cleaning as it wasn’t washed down the whole time we were there, though it could have been to do with the water shortage problem they are having in the area.  There was a food truck outside by pool at lunchtimes which did really nice snacks at a good price.

Check in was quick although they did put us in B Block right in a corner with no view at first when we had booked a pool view room.  Quickly put right.  The room had plenty of hangers for clothes, maybe too many.  Room was clean although bathroom door was hard to close properly.  Good view from balcony.  Strange not to have somewhere to dry swimwear outside on the balcony as they have had in most hotels we have stayed at.  The beds however were rock hard.  I use an orthopaedic bed at home but found this much, much harder and had pain each morning after sleeping on it.  Didn't get any noise from outside the room though there were a few groups of youngsters in the hotel.  In the bar area I found that the seats were very uncomfortable and again rock hard with no cushion on them.

Food there seemed strange as there was plenty of it but hard to make up a complete meal as it was bits of this and bits of that that seemed odd to put together.  It could have been warmer too as much was often cold, though there was a microwave to heat food if you wanted.  Plenty of choice at breakfast but again not very warm much of the time.  

The hotel was on a hill which was steep but not to long.  Much of the area is on hills but knew that when booking.  Not to do with hotel but found that pavements were badly in need of repair as there were potholes everywhere which late at night were hard to see.  Some say there is entertainment on some nights in the hotel but we found there was none in the 10 nights we were there.  We did go to the Bali for a couple of nights and enjoyed theirs.

Overall not a bad hotel but could do with some entertainment in the evenings and a couple of other bits improved on.

Nice hotel and quiet

Just spent a week here.  Benalmadena is a location we have been to before but never to the San Fermin.  It was a lovely hotel we were impressed immediately by the friendly and helpful staff at reception.  It is very close to the seafront and about half way between the Castle el Bil Bil and the Marina.  It also level with the Park so easy to get to.

We had all booked Superior Pool view rooms, we noted that on the 4th floor even numbered rooms were slightly wider than odd numbers but even had twin bed together and even had enormous king beds, so everyone in our group were very happy with their rooms.

The garden and pool area was very nice, loads of sun beds we never felt we had to fight for a bed.  The pool was lovely and we were fascinated every evening to watch the fencing put around to close it off after 7:30pm and the robot cleaner was put into to clean.  There is also a shallow pool for toddlers and another smaller curvy pool at the end of the garden in a separate area.  There were showers and toilet facilities available close by all the pools.  There is a gym, which we didn't use.

We were booked in for bed and breakfast, which was excellent, a very wide selection of fruit, cereals, yoghurts, vegetables, cheeses, meats, breads, pastries and cooked selections.  Including freshly cooked pancakes which I partook off nearly every day.  Nathalie in the restaurant was always there helping and clearing, such a nice lady to talk to.
For lunches we did eat several times at the "food truck" in the garden, this doesn't give it the right imagine though, as they served the most excellent salads, pizzas, sandwiches, toasties and burgers.  On a couple of occasions we decided not to go out in the evening and had dinner at the buffet restaurant, this was a very reasonable 14 Euros per person.  Salads and soup for starters, 2 separate areas for hot food, then cheeses, fruit and cakes for dessert.  

The bar had a good selection and was very reasonably priced, most of the staff there were very nice helpful and chatty.

The hotel is well maintained and the housekeeping daily couldn't be faulted.  On one occasion one of our party returned to their room whilst it was being cleaned, the cleaner quite rightly insisted she prove it was her room by using the key, which made us all feel very safe in the hotel, that security it taken seriously.  So well done to that member of staff.

Just a warning about the location it is on a hill so if you have any mobility issues take that into consideration.  The slope down to the main road and sea front is very steep for a short section.  Above the hotel you get to Bonanza Square where there are loads of bars, restaurants, a Tabac, a Pharmacy and a big supermarket, but again it is on an incline, not steep but noticeable.

Lovely Hotel great location (despite the hill)

The room was good, clean and tended every day - although not the balcony! Clean towels provided, beds made and bins emptied. Cristina at the bar was great; cheerful, helpful (even with my very basic and sparce Spanish!) and glad to serve - she also made a cracking jug of sangria. Lovely place, good food, spacious pool and poolside. The only drawback was the 60steps up from the promenade and the steep hill on the eay back. Not for those with dodgy hips and/or knees. I'd go back, though.

i found the staff were very friendly and helpful i stayed half board which was quite good and works well the breakfast was really good lots to chose from , however the dinner i found was a little short of choice to my taste and some nights i struggled to find something i liked it was also not good that you couldnt have a drink with your dinner even free water would be good you had to buy a drink if you wanted one  but maybe its just me being fussy .. the room i had was very clean and the daily cleaning was done very well with clean towels  the cleaners were very friendly and always had a smile etc . i have to say the only downside i had with my stay was there is a night club nearby that has music banging most of the night its awful ! when i say loud it is very loud even with the window shut and curtains closed , it started around 11pm and went on until at least 4am every night , that was to the point that would have to say its  turn me away from staying again which is a shame because i really cant fault the hotel and staff their  amazing just the noise is unbearable , five stars other than that ...

san fermin hotel

This beautiful hotel is only metres from Benamadena beach and its promenade and Bonanza Square. The airport is just a few minutes’ drive away. Plenty of shopping and dining facilities, buzzing nightclubs and a casino are all in the hotel's vicinity. The guests may choose their meal in the buffet restaurant or have a couple of drinks in the bar. The outdoor pool area along with the lovely garden are the perfect scenery for a wonderful sunny day. For younger guests, there is an area special for them so they can have a great time as well. The comfortable rooms have been nicely decorated with light colours and wooden furniture. They are also equipped with all the essential amenities to have a pleasant and memorable stay.
