Labranda Golden Beach

I have not written a review before, but felt the need to and so here goes…..  I think that the hotel has potential   It requires an injection of cash. it would benefit from investment in almost all of the areas of the complex, it is ‘rough around the edges’ , in particular the accommodation.  Our room 101, was a swim up room.  Due to the lack of maintenance it was not to the standard that I would have normally expected. On the third morning we awoke to  a large area of the plaster falling off the wall and spores forming from the damp in our room (it looked as though it was a reoccurring issue that had been hastily repaired before we arrived and would need to be done again when the next guests checked-in after us).  . Unfortunately, due to the damp we had an uninvited guest - a large cockroach! . My daughter and her husband stayed in room 104 and this had a bad smell of sewage as soon as the door to their room was opened this smell lingered all week.  (possibly due to a fractured pipe at the back of the toilet). We reported this to the receptionist on two separate occasions but disappointingly no attempt was made to investigate nor rectify the problem. Can I say “that this is bad practice  to say you will do something and then don't”. - The food served was to a good standard (what I would expect for this 3 star Hotel) and the waiting staff and the Restaurant Manager are to be commended  for their hard work and friendliness  (well done to them).

Disappointing

The overall experience was fantastic, staff was very friendly and nice, the hotel was very clean, food was good and very diverse. I will highly recommend further to anyone, at least to try it and experience the good time that we had. We’ll go again for sure.

I recently returned from a few weeks holiday at Labranda Golden Beach. I had a fab time there with nothing but praise for all the staff from the Manager down, nothing was too much trouble. Must mention Humberto ( the animator) who had a hard job to get people to interact with the daytime games! Weather was good most of the time. Especially enjoyed the singer outside by the  pool bar one evening ( although slight interruption for some light rain).and was good to see the manger and family supporting the evening.yes I had every intention to return for the same number of weeks again this October, however when I checked prices for a holiday of the same duration and board  ( either this October or next April), I found to my dismay the prices have increased by 68%!!! To say I was horrified is an understatement ( by the way this is with jet2) so don’t think I can justify booking back here at that increase ! I usually book for 7 weeks so I have to use jet2 !

Fab Holiday

On our last night here as I type this! And I will be honest about our experience. This is based on all inclusive option..
Food - plenty of options, you won’t go hungry. Fresh salad, bread, fruit daily. Different meat choice, some buffet pre-cooked, some on the grill/freshly cooked (even had salmon and duck!) there is fresh pizzas for lunch and most dinners, some veggie options, gluten free bread available if you choose. And for the fussy eaters, chips and pasta. Snacks available at pool bar. Ice cream available in the restaurant at lunch and dinner. 
Drink- Amstel beer on tap, Pepsi, 7up and other options. Lots of spirits to choose from and wines. Cocktails also available (some you have to pay for, but all AI cocktails were lovely) 
Pool itself needs renovation as loose tiles on the pool floor. But it does the job, perfect depth to cool off on! Plenty of loungers! Was always pretty empty (swim up rooms meant people relaxed in their own rooms without going to the pool area - we didn’t have one ourselves, but looked like more hassle than a luxury - having to go to the pool area for drinks etc.) nicely quiet and no animation team thankfully! If you want to stay busy, go to a family resort, not adults only! It was bliss not being constantly disturbed and being left alone! 
The beach is absolutely beautiful but it is a 5 minute walk and is down a hill, so some may struggle with the walk. 
The rooms are lovely and spacious, modern and clean. TV has no English channels apart from one news channel reporting in France.. lol. 
Hotel supply towels for sun loungers if you ask- just don’t lose them as there will be a fee! Also recommend buying towel pegs as the wind will mean you will be chasing your towels. 
Also the parasols like to blow over - so you will end up holding onto them which is just annoying- we ended up leaving ours down!
I’d recommend learning the basics in Spanish as many staff (although lovely!) do not always understand and it’s nice to be nice!
So my improvements for this place would be… have a mirror in the main bedroom - only have one in the bathroom which is just annoying. 
Annoyingly the housekeeping left the balcony door unlocked after each visit, even though we locked it! And it would be nice to have some bottled water supplied in the rooms. 
We have already said we would definitely come again! Have really enjoyed our stay :)

The staff were polite and very helpful.  The food was very good with plenty of choice.  There was some labelling on food which helped as my wife is coeliac (Gluten Free), but this could have been better.  However the staff always tried to help when asked.  We were all inclusive and all meals were good.  The pool area is clean and there was no problems getting sun lounger. The pool was a good size.  The room was a good size with safe, Kettle, large balcony, television, ensuite and great shower!
The location was also very good with a short walk to the very large and long sandy beach. Evening entertainment every night which was varied.  Overall we had a lovely 2 week stay and would recommend the hotel and area
