Terrible!!!! This hotel is no way a 4 star, would struggle to say a 3 star and it’s not as though it’s a cheap hotel to book. I had seen previous posts about varies things, one being surly staff which I didn’t think too much of but they were, very rarely made eye contact with you and felt as though being there was an inconvenience, however the check in staff were friendly. The room was a good size and cleaned regularly, no refreshments in fridge not even a bottle of water, kettle and cups but no coffee etc,, the pool area had sun loungers tight next to each other, we managed to find some on the grass between the pools and the kids play area, the pools were dirty with a line of scum all the way around the top of them. The worst part was the restaurant which it wasn’t actually, it felt more like a cheap canteen, the scraping of the chairs on the tiled floor was loud, the whole experience was total chaos, the food very repetitive, it was a case of fighting your way in for food and drinks then eating as quickly as possible to get out of there, just too noisy, you couldn’t have a relaxing evening meal so we often ate out which isn’t the idea when you pay all inclusive. Evening entertainment was ok, cocktails were pre mixed !!! You need your door card to get in and out the rear of the hotel, even though we kept the card in a separate wallet sometimes it wouldn’t work so had to wait for someone else either going in or out to get back in. So going back to the dining area TUI advertised some lovely wicker seating but unfortunately this had been replaced with the plastic tables and chairs, I’ve been told by TUI that it was probably done after they’d taken the photo but to me this is false advertising as it makes the hotel look far nicer then it is, photo of seating for reference. Will not be returning to this hotel but Matagorda is a lovely resort with some nice restaurants the bus service is good and not expensive so good for exploring the island.

NOT a 4 Star, very disappointed

We stayed for 10 days.  I would say there could do with a bit more of a personal touch when we arriving and leaving. We was given a pointless map and given our room number and we just had to go find it. 
Reusable Plastic cups for poolside during the day was fine for me. Reduces the risk of broken glass around the pool and discarded thin plastic cups. 
All 3 pools are pretty cold with the centre one slightly warmer. The centre pool gets really busy with all the activities. 
The “Pool bar” isn’t really anywhere near the pool but the drink selection is good and snacks throughout the day were available but similar to what was served for lunch so not really a great variety. 
Food as a whole was pretty standard buffet food. Nothing amazing but also no real complaints. We all ate there everyday without issue even my little one who’s 4 and fussy. 
Room was plenty for what we needed, we requested a ground floor room as my wife is scared of heights and that request was granted, so very pleased. 
The photographer was amazing my daughter absolutely loved him and we got a lots of amazing photos sent to us and the price wasn’t bad for what we got. 
Animation staff for kids were very good. Some were more enthusiastic and better with the kids than others like Samantha and Rayane. Some nights someone else was leading and the routine felt a little rushed. A bit repetitive but my daughter enjoyed it and that’s what’s important. 
The evening entertainment was vary varied and we enjoyed everything we saw.

Overall we had a great time. My daughter’s first holiday abroad was a success. Would I return, maybe but certainly not a bad experience.

Right on the beach! 
Rooms were always clean (house keeping were lovely), food was lovely massive selection, the photographer was fantastic he took some amazing photos of us as a family and always went the extra mile. We’ll be back for sure 👌

Fantastic experience at Sol lanzarote

Just came back from a 9 day stay. This hotel is terrible and a two star at best. We spent nearly 3k for this holiday. The room is horrible, dirty floors and full of ants and cockroaches and when you complain to staff they tell you not to bring food in the room as it “attracts them”. We did not have food in the room and they were still in it. The food was awful/cold so we ate out everyday, spending more money on food. The pools are filthy and cold. The sun-beds are overcrowded and you can never get one and they are crammed together like sardines. The nighttime entertainment is a joke -not enough chairs to sit and if you are lucky to get a seat you are right on top of everyone else. Most people had to stand. The bar drinks were horrible no selection to buy a different drink, plus soft drinks like orange/coke completely flat. You can’t even sleep at night because the music is so loud and right outside your room until after half 11 at night.  We spent all of our days out of this hotel and have been to all inclusive hotels before and never had an experience like this. It was so bad we tried to book a flight home 4 days before we were meant to leave. Oh and on top of that you have no tea/coffee/ water in the room and have to pay for a safe and iron, including a red towel each time you want to change one. Staff work hard but we found they were rude, never even asked how our stay was. I would never come back and advise people to book elsewhere as our holiday was completely ruined. The pictures on the website are old - do not let them fool you. Apologies are not good enough as people spend hard earned money for their holidays. I am disgusted.

Horrific experience

If you are looking for a relaxing stay at a nice hotel then give this one a wide berth. We booked a Jet 2 holiday for 4 at the Sol Lanzarote which they claim to be a 4 star hotel. Well, if you are happy to have sun beds crammed together so that you can hardly move and you love luke warm food served in what can only be regarded as a factory canteen then this is the place for you.
On the plus side, the bar serves generous measures and the beer is palatable.

Not a comfortable hotel

This room type comes with stunning views of the sea and pretty Matagorda beach, and a furnished terrace or balcony. They are fully equipped with a microwave oven, kettle, fridge, TV, safe (with charge), Mini-bar, desk, and a full bathroom with bathtub or separate shower (on request).

Family Room Sea View

The family-friendly hotel Sol Lanzarote is perfectly situated in a peaceful location in Matagorda, frontline to the sandy beach and the Atlantic Ocean.
