Pool

I have just returned from a 5 day trip to Iberostar Cristina with my mum for a little girly break which we enjoyed. I'll start my review with the positives but sadly there are some things I think that need to be worked on... not huge moans at all but honest reviews always help me when deciding on a hotel. :) 

We chose Iberostar as I have been to multiple resorts and I have to pride them on having the most amazing and tasty food offering as well as the hotel grounds and rooms being spotless and so clean which makes a great difference. The location was great and cost around 16 Euros in a cab from Palma Airport to the result with us arriving in less than 10 minute... Brilliant! We also got the 25 bus into Palma for some shopping which took around 20 minutes and the bus stop was a short walk away costing us 2 euros each to board the bus. Beach was also just down the road with a row of shops to explore.

I also booked for my mum and I to get a massage during our holiday at the spa and it was one of the best I've ever had, these things are expensive so it was a one off nice treat but I left and felt like it was money well spent. A massive thank you to Carina for booking our massages in ahead of time by email and also providing such a great service on the day... you are amazing! I also would like to say a huge thank you to Lorenzo behind the bar/in the Restaurant, he is mentioned in a lot of the reviews I have seen, he is such a happy person and always SO friendly - he really made our experience so much better at the hotel.

Sadly I wasn't as impressed as other Iberostar's I have been previously...

1. All inclusive drink cap - At no fault of the hotel (as we booked through another website) we we're not aware of the 3 drinks at lunch and 3 drinks at dinner rule within this hotel, we thought by selecting all inclusive this would include our drinks as per usual across the day and evening... but when checking in this wasn't mentioned to us at all - so after check-in we headed to the bar and ordered a couple of glasses of wine to be told it wasn't possible which caused confusion. I would prefer if they offered drinks tokens so you could have 6 drinks throughout the day when you choose, I didn't want to have 3 glasses of wine in one sitting and would have preferred to have 1/2 during the evening. I also thought it was quite cheeky that you can't have more than 6 drinks unless you pay extra to drink during the day and charge it to your room - I wish this was made clearer on the website we booked our holiday through.

2. Entertainment - In 2022 I visited the Iberostar in Crete, Greece and their shows we're amazing and included shows such as The Lion King, Around the world nights and shows where you could interact through your phone to vote for your favourite act... this hotel had NONE of the above. We watched a few shows and they we're not of great standard, they also finished at 10-10:15pm each night with no bar in sight with some music to sit and chill at afterwards so we were bored quite a few evenings. In Crete too I kept in touch with the entertainment team and got to know a few of them on a personal level as they would sit with you in the evening and chat, I don't think one of the team spoke with us on our whole 5 days which was a shame. I am 25 so didn't attend the kids activities/shows but they actually did look quite fun and engaging for the little ones and the effort the staff put into the kids club was noticed. 

3. Check in - We arrived at the resort at around 12pm local time after getting on one of the first flights so of course we we're quite tired but happy to wait until 3pm for the check-in time. We headed to the desk at 3pm and was told our room would be ready in 2 minutes and to take a seat, then a flood of people also went to check in and we was left sitting there for 30 minutes waiting, which was a shame as we was told to come back at this time, we finally got into our room at around 4pm.

Overall I would say we enjoyed our stay at Iberostar Cristina, but other Iberostar's I have visited have been of a higher standard but this hotel offers great food, location and I would recommend it if you are looking for somewhere that is quite quiet and chilled and want to visit Palma for some shopping or a cathedral visit. Also, be aware of the all inclusive drinks cap when booking :)

Great location and food, clean hotel, some improvements needed...

Lovely hotel. Food was to an amazing standard. Buffet was well stocked and clean at all times. Good variety of food. Plenty of filtered water and snacks available through the day. 

Waiting, kitchen and entertainment staff were friendly. Nothing was ever too much hassle. 

Hotel room was clean and tidied with fresh towels provided on request.

Great Stay

I came here with a friend ( half board) and overall we had a nice time. I agree with the reviews about the food. It’s absolutely delicious and I honestly didn’t expect it to be that good because I am a very good at cooking all kind of meals! 

There are plenty of sun beds during the day and lots chairs to relax in other parts of the hotel. 
People coming are mainly from Germany and t many of them are annoyingly loud!!
If you are coming here for quiet holiday then look further because from my observation most people coming here to celebrate either  hen do or stag do and some of them are already drunk by 1pm. However, whilst walking every day for about 2h around the area I can honestly say Iberostar is the only one I would book again if I ever had to come back to this area because it seems the calmest of them all with very minimal parties and noise. 

Be careful booking rooms because there is one part of the hotel with the view over car park and it doesn’t look as appealing as the view of garden and the pool. There is no sea view rooms unless you will get a room with pool view on the 5th floor. 
2 min walk from the hotel there is small shop with essentials, bike hire and medical centre. 

Taxi to Palma centre cost €16-€20 depending on traffic. Fan mall is 10 min drive and it cost €16. 

My biggest issue was with the indoor pool as it was closed! At the time of my booking ( 8months before holiday) there wasn’t any info about pool being closed in June. I complained about it to a hotel management but response was “ indoor pool is seasonal”.
I found this strange because I travel around the world where is way hotter than in Majorca and indoor pool is always open because it’s part of the SPA just like the one in this hotel.
We had a 2 days of awful weather with flood around the hotel and it could be lovely to go and relax in Spa around indoor pool but this is not the option here in summer!
Hotel should be more clear about indoor pool opening times. I wouldn’t book this hotel if I knew I can’t have full SPA experience especially during a bad weather.

Nice stay but no indoor pool in SPA

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff.
The food was fantastic and at a very high quality. 
Family friendly and always something to do for the smaller guests whilst providing highly entertaining shoes every night for everyone! 
Would definitely return!

June couples holiday.

I stayed at the Iberostar Cristina for 4 nights with my daughter booking with EasyJet holidays, first time using EasyJet holidays, upon arrival at the airport we were given a piece of paper from the easyJet rep and told to go to the transfer desk to find out our coach number for our transfer. We followed the instructions and found out our coach number. Usually when we go on holiday the transfer coach is with holidaymakers from the UK, on this coach we were the only people from the Uk it wasn’t a issue but thought I’d highlight this for any fellow passengers coming from the Uk.
It a nice short transfer and we arrived in 30 mins.
We were welcomed with Cava at reception which is a nice touch.
Our room wasn’t ready as we arrived in the morning which wasn’t a problem. We were told they would text /email us when it was ready. 
I would comment that we weren’t given any information about the hotel upon checking in i.e where the pool, restaurant, snack bar was located I know this isn’t a real problem but it would of been nice to give a little map or explanation. Lucky for us there was a lovely man who helps with the luggage he explained we could leave our luggage in the luggage room & go and get changed in the changing rooms in the floor below.
We found the pool but again as it hadn’t been explained we wasn’t sure where the snacks were located, we did find them eventually.
The pool area is kept very clean & it was lovely not having to get up at the crack of dawn to save a sun lounger, you could wander down at 10 and still find one. The towels are located in the snack bar in the corner again this wasn’t told at check in & we noticed quite a few people asking the lifeguards where to get their towels from.
Food: this has got to be one of the best hotels for food, amazing selection & cooked fresh if you wanted it, the only thing confusing is the all inclusive drinks, there was a different system for lunch & dinner, lunchtime you got it yourself & dinner time you had to ask a waitress , this proved challenging as they seemed to be busy cleaning plates away & quite often we were sat there with our food but no drinks. I know it’s not the hotel’s fault but the all inclusive to me isn’t really all inclusive it only includes alcoholic drinks of wine, cava or beer all which my daughter doesn’t drink. You are allowed 3 at lunch & 3 at dinner. I would struggle to drink 3 glasses in such a short time. I would prefer to have the 6 drinks spread out over the day. I know this isn’t the hotels fault but I think it should be noted more on the holiday companies websites. I also thought the cocktails were expensive and should be discounted if you were all inclusive 
The room we had was on the 5th floor overlooking the tennis courts & we were lucky to have a side sea view, the beds are comfortable & it was a nice touch having shower gel, shampoo & conditioner. We could only find 1 English Channel on the tv. The rooms have a fridge but no tea making facilities.
We watched some of the entertainment which looked good.
In all we had a lovely relaxing time, if the hotel wasn’t in the red zone for all inclusive then I would stay agin but unfortunately as it isn’t I would choose another location next time.

Short girls trip

Ideally situated only 100 m from the wonderful fine sandy beach, this excellent holiday hotel enjoys a fantastic setting in a quiet part of the renowned tourist resort Playa de Palma. The centre of Palma with its picturesque old town, the famous cathedral, museums and exclusive shops can be easily reached by public transport. The airport is just 10-minute drive. All the modern and beautiful rooms guarantee a good night's sleep and a pleasant stay. The hotel boasts a beautiful pool area surrounded by shady pine trees. Children are taken care of in age-based clubs and there is a children's pool and a playground. All other food and non-alcoholic beverages are kept on an IT basis.
